The bite fight June 28, 1997 Mike Tyson, heavyweight champion of the world, bit off a piece of the ear of his opponent, Evander Holyfield, during the heavyweight title fight in 1997. Tyson was consequently put on a 16 month suspension.

I’m from the small but popular fishing village of Rocky Point in Clarendon.


How would you spend your ideal weekend?

My ideal weekend involves be spending quality time with my girlfriend. Swimming in some deep waters at the beach while we listen to alternative, pop and house music and then topping off the day with dinner at Majestic Sushi at Villa Ronai.

What’s your go to spot in Jamaica?

When I get the chance to go home, I love to chill at Fisherman’s Grill in Rocky Point. In Kingston, I love chilling at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records for a drink and to catch a quick game.

Wheich country is number 1 on your list to check off? Italy. The architecture is second to none.

Which top models would you most like to work with?

I would love to work with my fellow Pulse models Jeneil Williams and Nell Robinson and of course Naomi Campbell.

Youth Chorale

Let the music move you this weekend at the Jamaica Youth Chorale’s performance, Rooted & Grounded. The musical experience recounts the 1938 rebellions in a piece entitled Sarah’s Sacrifice. Another debut piece is De Bishop an’ de Candle. The season opens on June 29 and closes June 30. Showing at The Little Theatre at 8pm and 6pm respectively. Tickets are $1,000 for students with ID and $1,200 for regular patrons.

Cassava Fries and Guacamole recipe

In a “staycation” frame of mind? Well don’t limit your taste buds! Why not enjoy your fave foods with a Latin American/Mexican twist? Our hearty cassava and pear never tasted better than this yummy snack combo.

ingredients

2 lb sweet cassava 2 avocados 1 red onion, cut up 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 plummy tomatoes, seeded and diced Juice of 2 limes 2 tbsp cilantro, roughly torn Salt to taste Oil

MethOd Peel cassava, and cut into French fry sticks. Parboil for 10 minutes in salt water and drain. Fry at 350F until golden. Prepare guacamole by cutting avocado in half, scoop out flesh and mash it to your consistency - some people like it chunky, some smooth. Add onion, garlic, tomato, lime juice and cilantro. Add salt to taste Refrigerate for 45 minutes Plate, eat and enjoy! Vibes Tip: Prepare and parboil extra (nuff ) and freeze for future ease.
