“A man can be destroyed but not defeated.” September 8, 1952 The First War Tank Is Created September 6, 1915
Happy Birthday Miss Lou! September 7, 1919
Today, in 1915, the first prototype tank nicknamed Little Willie was successfully created in England. It weighed 14 tonnes, repeatedly got stuck in trenches and crawled at only two miles per hour. Evidently, the original prototype and tanks were eventually improved and subsequently transformed military battlefields around the world.
Popular Jamaican Folklorist, Louise ‘Miss Lou’ Bennett Coverley, OM, OJ, was born on this day in 1919. The late Miss Lou, who is famous for her hilariously appropriate renditions of Jamaican plays and poems, has posed an insurmountable influence on the Jamaican culture. This day is locally recognized and celebrated as Miss Lou Day.
The Old Man and the Sea, a novel by American writer Ernest Hemingway, was published on this day in 1952. The novel surrounds the epic struggle between an old fisherman and the greatest catch of his life - that which occurs after several unsuccessful attempts that previously labeled him as useless

Is Lauren Dunn during the week different from Lauren Dunn on weekends?
Oh most certainly! During the week I’m Lauren O Lauren, the leader of the “Cool Kids”, she drinks, she’s very loud and she insists on making me look bad; but on weekends I’m Lauren Dunn, which is who I am most of the time and usually on weekends, she likes to have fun without the drama.
Where are we most likely to spot you on weekends?
The Beach for sure is a must when I can. I like Trendy Bars, so having an excuse to dress up is my perfect spot. If they have nice furniture, I’m wearing my nice clothes and I’m talking on top of my voice. Cru, South Beach Cafe, Fiction, The Bar on top of Spanish Court, and when I just want to be random, Medusa.
Describe the best trip you’ve ever had in Jamaica.
I went to Portland a while back and stayed at Frenchman’s Cove. I was having so much fun that I got my weave wet and didn’t even care.
We’ve noticed that you’re a fashionista. Which fashion capital in the world are you dying to visit? I want to go to JAPAN so bad!!!!
What do you think everyone should do on the weekend?
Have an adventure, get up and get life going. I went to Alaska one weekend and it took me 24 hours to get there and 24 hours to get back. Last but not least, once a month skip a weekend and just sleep the whole time - sleep is so important to us adults.
How has the LaurenOLauren Show changed your weekends?
It has changed my weekends, because I’m constantly looking for adventures, looking for new material and fresh locations. My show is 98% my own personal views and how I see the world. I won’t have anything to talk about if I stay home. I try to do a lot of traveling whether it’s around Jamaica or the world. I LOVE being around strangers.
What is that one drink that you must have on weekends?
Coffee Patron over ice. Drink it slowly don’t shot it.

“When I’m going to work I like to dress up and wear bright colors - it makes me feel a little better about working. I’m into prints and bright colors, and I love taking risks with my clothes. I’m not afraid to wear something that you wouldn’t think to pair together.” Coral Bottom up shirt: J.
