House&Habitat bird habitat & observation structure
The program for this project includes the development of a habitat for a native bird species, and the design of a small observation area for the viewing of their chosen bird. In addition, students will be required to develop or modify the existing trail system as the primary means of access to the site.

ARTISTS LOFT PROGRAM
The client for this project is artspace [artspace.org] Mixed-use multifamily development focused on the needs and community engagement of emerging artists and other creative types The intent of the project is to provide affordable live-work housing for this demographic and their families 3 Sites have been identified: 155 S Hibbert St in Mesa, Farmer in Tempe and 1st and Portland in Phoenix PROGRAM: •1-, 2- and 3- bedroom units; a minimum of 30% of the units required to be 3-bedroom. •at least 3000 sf of ground floor commercial space (e.g. art gallery, art organization office space, coffee shop) •at least 1500 sf of community space •site amenities (eg: bbq area, shade structure, bocce court) OTHER REQUIREMENTS: •Density of the project should be at least 25 units/ac but no more than 30 units/ac •Maximum height isl limited by zoning or Type V Construction (Wood). Wood construction over a concrete podium is allowed. •project shall follow the local zoning requirements [T4NF zoning requirements for Mesa] •The development should provide at least 1 parking space per unit [due to cost implications, underground parking should be avoided wherever possible]
