Dress Up Like Jam from Akwaeke Emezi’s Pet
You will need: • Colouring pens/pencils • Glue • Bamboo or wooden skewer (you can also use a long, thin twig if readily available) • White Paint Instructions: 1. Paint your skewer or stick with white paint and put to one side to dry. 2. Using your scissors, cut out the feather. 3. Colour in your feather.
Top Tip: Be as creative and as colourful as you want. You can even draw patterns or use paint, glitter and real feathers for a different texture. 4. Fold your feather along the line in the middle. 5. Glue your stick to the line you have just folded and set aside to dry.
To complete this look: Pair this feather with a plain white pyjama set. Using fabric paint, add shapes and colours to your liking, it doesn’t have to exactly the same as Jam’s. Wear this with your fluffiest pair off slippers and you’re set!
