Calliostoma rosewateri Clench & Turner, 1960
Special thanks to our families, whose support was fundamental in achieving the completion of this investigation, which has great significance for the Marine biology of Colombia and the Caribean Sea.

COLOMBIAN Seashells from the Caribbean Sea
The Authors The book Colombian Seashells from the Caribbean Sea contributed to the cataloguing of 1530 species, placing Colombia as the country with the richest diversity of marine mollusks in the Western Hemisphere, followed by Brazil, Cuba and the United States (Database of Western Atlantic Marine Molluscs, 2010). It is worth mentioning that due to logistical and economic reasons, we only managed to catalogue 30% of the continental coast, with the remaining 70% still in need of biological cataloguing. On the island fringes, the area covered by the study accounts for only 5% which equates to one recording station on the Island of San Andres. The remaining 95% that is still unexplored would provide greater biological information, taking into account that we share a large part of the marine mollusk diversity with the neighboring countries of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Jamaica. We also believe that due to the geographic diversity of the continental and insular Colombian Caribbean, we possess around 70% of the recorded species in the entire Western Hemisphere. We hope that this book can encourage future researchers to expand their knowledge in the preservation of our mollusk fauna.
