SCULPTURE WEDDING AW13
was a presentation of contemporary catwalk in the streets of Central London during London Fashion Week that took place on 17th February. This unique walk was a fashion collection presentation to the general public and had never been done before. 18 professional models circulated the West End area for several hours through Trafalgar square, Piccadilly Circus, Sommerset house, Covent Garden, Regent street, Oxford street and Selfridges. 
The whole event was finely choreographed over the preceding months and as a result received considerable acclaim and positive feedback. This adventurous presentation involved many independent professionals in fashion took a part on the day including stylists, make-up and hair professionals and photographers and support from several sponsored locations on the way. Drawing inspiration from the classical forms of various sculptures, fabric movement, and the elegant silhouette of a bride, Sarmite uses her love of tailoring and fascination with surrealism to merge the classical form with contemporary style. Woman Who Run With The Wolves a series of photographs about an extraordinary, brave, smart, natural, wild woman. In this project I wanted to bring out and show this crucial wilderness that lies within every woman. Since an early age I have always loved drawing people and designing dresses, which I would do in most of my free time growing up. I had no doubts about studying for a degree course in Fashion Design where I was available to develop my love and passion for Illustration and design. As part of this course I was able to design and create evening dresses, which were modelled at a graduation fashion show in my home country of Peru. After graduating, I began to design and make samples of my own lingerie Collection (Scarlet Collection) that gained coverage on a local Television program. I also spent a year helping to promote and organise fashion shows across a number of local venues in Lima-Peru. My love of design drew me to England in 2001, where I studied Fashion Promotion with CAD.
During this course I was able to develop a professional portfolio combining my skills in Illustration and Photoshop techniques. During the last number of years I have lived in London and I have pursued my passion for lingerie design and Illustration. Last year I studied a Fashion Illustration course at Chelsea Art College. Upon completion I developed my own website to present both my designs and my art work, where I paint portraits, models and fashion illustrations. The techniques that I use in my work are watercolour, pen-brush, collage and Photoshop. I take great satisfaction in being able to provide Illustrations and designs for Clients as well as helping other designers and students with their Illustrations in order to help showcase their vision.

Born in Gdansk, Poland. Young, fresh and vibrant model / actor. It began with singing and dancing, when he was a child. It was a way to entertain his entire family. Thereafter, he became interested in theater, during his time in Primary school and decided to join the School Drama Club. He enjoyed performing and took part in a number of school plays. He also signed up to the School Film Club, where he had a chance to learn about film theory. Following his move to London, Peter took his passion further and worked on a number of sets across Music Videos, Commercials, Plays and Films.

Nassia Kapa is a self taught passionate photographer from Greece, currently living in London. Her work has been published on various e-magazines such as Fluster Magazine, The Unexposed, and has participated in Exhibitions in Athens and on the web. Her photography is her way to communicate with people in a way free from stereotypes and to express her mind through her portraits. Below photographs are included in Coal Series, an ongoing project based on Black and White, grainy and intense images, influenced by her love for drawing using charcoal.

Colour, smile, emotion, attention, details, craziness, simplicity, naturalness and in the end, but not the last one, perfection. These are just a few words that would describe our work relationship as a team for your event. I started photography in late 2008, at first it was just a passion, but once I started studying at the Faculty of Journalism, I knew that photography is more than a passion for me. Few months later I started working in media as a television reporter in a small town in Romania. The camera was almost always with me ready to capture a moment. After almost three years, I gave up to my job as a TV reporter and I moved to the capital, where I began a Master in Brand Management and Corporate Communication. After 8 months in Bucharest, I moved to London. A totally new and different world and I love it! I started with capturing timidly new places, people and moments. After few months, I started to work with different make-up artists for fashion photo shoots, events such as weddings, parties, portraits and recently I started a new project as a photographer for a short movie. And this is just the beginning of my own story, here in London.

Iryna is a Ukrainian born, Londonbased artist whose work varies in themes and subjects. For the past two years she has been very eager to work with “photograms” and to produce unique and interesting works. She first encountered the process of camera-less photography a few years before joining London Metropolitan University. Being fascinated by Nature she has developed a body of work concentrating on some everyday natural forms that we take for granted or we just no longer notice it, and exploring its detailed beauty. (Using natural forms such as flowers, leaves and insects etc). Currently she is working on a series of different Fruits (using thin slices of fruit), exposing them onto a photographic paper to see the texture and detail that our eye fails to see. She always works hard to capture something unique, beautiful and original in each of her chosen subjects.

I’m Sofie Day. In a single paragraph nutshell: I am a professional, trained, registered, licensed, and experienced however, most of all passionate body piercer, who loves doing temporary tattoos as a hobby. I am constantly going on seminars/ workshops to keep my piercing skills up to date with modern methods. I absolutely refuse to pierce with piercing guns and do not take up positions with piercing cowboys = studio owners who go for the cheap (but absolutely not cheerful) method of gun piercings. I am also a trained addiction recovery auricular acupuncturist constantly training to increase my knowledge/ in the field of addiction recovery I love working with bodies & minds and I love the idea that I make people beautiful on the outside (with piercing) and inside (with acupuncture) and keep them sane, simply by listening, chatting lots. My heroes are any-one who is anything of any value within the professional world I’m in - to put it in simple terms: I love all those people who are already true masters in the field of addiction recovery, body modification, tattoo artistry, piercing... & any other related areas of expertise - I admire any-one who has become truly great at the field they’ve decided to be passionate about, whatever that is. I could name a few people here, but there are always new heroes emerging. If you would like to know more about who or what I am & where I come from. I was born May 1974 in Belgium. I moved here in 1995. I have a tattoo on me which reads ‘Born in good Belgium, found life, love & laughter in Great Britain’ that sums me up in a tight nutshell. Until 2005 I worked in the media industry, mostly as an advertising co-ordinator (=scheduling ads to appear on television, it may sound quite glamorous, however is boring as hell). On the 18th of March 2005 I became a mum to a beautiful little boy named Tobias. I wanted to be a hands-on type of mum so I did not return to my employment (I was often expected to work until 10pm and go for heaving drinking sessions with the colleagues). I decided to combine motherhood with jobs which allowed me to be a mum as well as generate some income, like childminding & doing temporary tattoo art at weekend fairs (= things which either allowed me to have my child with me or which were at times when my hubby could look after our Tobias) etc… Once Tobias started full-time education in 2008 I became a full-time manager of a tattoo studio while also being a body piercing apprentice. I soon focussed solely on body piercing however I kept doing temporary tattoos ad-hoc, often for TV commercials/ films. I love the creative flair of the people working in the tattoo industry, I like working with people who’re a bit different in general… Since 2011, alongside my body piercing career, I have embarked on gaining experience in the field of addiction recovery.
I have a lot of personal experience, through family & friends, with addiction issues. I am not continually changing career, I am transferring my skills set and changing direction corresponding with my personal growth. I see myself ending my career path within the field of addiction recovery. To aid my quest of transferring my skills into a career in the field of addiction recovery I’ve completed a 4 day auricular acupuncture for addictions workshop at Belmarsh prison and so getting certified/ registered with Smart UK - the UK’s leading organisation for addiction ear acupuncture. I have also trained with Smart Recovery UK in facilitating recovery groups for any addictive behaviour. Since August 2012 I’ve been working on for one of London’s leading addiction recovery charities. I’ve gone on every single course they’ve given me the opportunity to do & now obtain an entire folder full of certificates for courses I have attended, all counting towards DANOS units. I am still piercing (I am not on any benefits, the piercing funds my career transition). I don’t see an abrupt end to my successful career in the body modification industry. I do like piercing still, I just feel the opportunity for growth is limited & the wage structure does not reflect childcare needs.
To put it in simple terms: a lot of piercers claim income benefits to support their income (a lot totally hide the piercing income!). I am not, nor wish to be, in such a position. Creating temporary tattoos (they look just like real tattoos but only last 5 days) is something I will do forever whenever someone asks me to do it for them if my schedule allows it. Regarding the piercing I would also like to state that I
pierce with a responsible frame of mind, much to the despair of some studio owners who just want to make lots of money and do whatever on whoever as long as it’s legal. I’ll advise clients to consider jobs before doing any dramatic facial piercing. This is because I want to make people more beautiful, creating an edge, however I desire to do this without creating a negative impact on the way my client is perceived.
People judge on looks. That is unfair and should not be so, but it is. (I know, I had my hand tattooed in an impulsive moment = not always but sometimes such an obvious body modification is a hinder when it comes to making first impressions). Therefore esp. if you seem young and at the start of your career ladder: expect me to ask a few questions. It’s not being nosy, it’s being concerned. I believe life is tough, and I don’t believe in making it even harder. Appreciate my concern. This plays a small part in why I am changing career: I feel the body mod industry is often irresponsible. An 18 year old is able to do whatever he/she wants to his/ her body, but I believe that very -in your face - & permanent body modifications (= like tattoos) should be done only when someone is very secure in their career. But that’s just me. Life is difficult, I don’t want to feel responsible for making it even harder for someone. Anyhow, at present I work 2-3 days a week in a tattoo & piercing studio on an appointment only basis and I work an equal number of days in the field of addiction recovery. And often I’ll be painting bodies with temporary tattoos at the weekend.
