LEATHER

WHY LEATHER The allure and appreciation of leather is rooted in its natural artistry and charm. It’s perfectly imperfect, originating from a raw material where imperfections are to be expected. Those who appreciate leather welcome this, knowing that each unique variance in the hide adds to the distinct character and incomparable appearance of their leather.

LEATHEROURABOUT

Our rich, earthy neutrals and bold, jewel-toned leathers will make your upholstered piece the statement of any room. These leathers age luxuriously and beautifully, developing more texture and softness as time passes. We offer aniline leathers, protected leathers, sustainable leathers, antibacterial leathers and nubuck. Each type highlights their own beauty and distinct hand. With proper care, these leathers create family heirloom quality pieces, passed down from generation to generation.

Our tannery sources top-quality hides for us, allowing us to maintain the distinctive beauty in each of our leathers. The vast majority of our leather is selected from top-grade European hides. This means that the hides are unbranded and typically contain fewer scratches due to the use of fencing other than barbed wire. After selection, there are 40 different complex processes that our leathers go through to cleanse, purify, soften and color the hide. Throughout these processes there will inherently be subtle variations between hides.

ABOUT OUR LEATHER

SUSTAINABILITY

Our tannery has developed a USDA certified bio-based leather that uses 40% less water throughout the tanning process and utilizes vegetable tannins to create each rich, warm hue. Garvin fully embraces the natural beauty of leather, offering a sustainable option for your designs.

CAREPROPER

PROPER CARE In the event of a spill, no matter what type of leather you have, it is imperative to be gentle. However, different types of leather require different cleaning methods. Determine the type of leather you have and see the care guide for detailed information. No matter what, always test in a concealed area first to see how the leather responds and clean an area larger than the stain to avoid spotting. As with fabric, leathers may fade over time if continually exposed to sunlight. To avoid fading, place leathers out of direct sunlight and do your best to limit the amount of sunlight your upholstered piece receives.

Do remember that leather is a natural product and may have variances. We ask that you inspect your order to confirm quality and quantity within 5-10 days upon receipt of your order. Defects must be reported within this time period and before cuts and/or fabrications have been made. For questions regarding ordering leather, contact your local Fabricut representative. fabricut.com · leather@fabricut.com 800.999.8200 7'-0"6'-0"5'-4" 5'-3" COWHIDE Average Size: 50-55 sq. ft.
