White Bean Chicken Chili
Serves: 4 Hands-On Time: 40 min Total Time: 40 min Not much can beat a warm bowl of chili when the snow starts fallin’. I’ll show you how to make this traditional white chili without dairy, and still get a rich and thick, comforting meal. Seek out the brand of beans I recommend, Eden Foods, it’s the only store-bought canned variety that is truly healthful. And you might want to double up the portion of roasted chicken you make because this easy spice mixture makes the chicken breast irresistible!
Ingredients: Chili 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 White or Yellow Onion 3 Garlic Cloves 1 Organic Zucchini (diced small) 1 Teaspoon Fine Sea Salt 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano 3 Cups Organic Low Sodium Chicken Stock Fresh Lime Juice 1 Cup Salsa Verde
Chicken 1 to 1.5 pounds Organic Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder 1/2 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt 1.5 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil Optional Garnishes: Jalapeno Scallion Fresh Cilantro Avocado
Find this traditional green salsa on grocery store shelves, in the Mexican food aisle; or buy some from your favorite Mexican restaurant.
1-15 oz Can Eden Organic Cannellini Beans (drained & rinsed) This is the only brand of cooked beans on the market that is healthful. This company actually soaks their beans, dumps the soaking liquid, and cooks them with kombu seaweed (you can’t taste it). All of this is very important to eliminate toxins, release digestive enzymes, and make their nutrients more available to us. This brand is sold at Whole Foods Market and Jewel.

Directions:
1. Preheat oven 350 Degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and drizzle with 1.5 Tablespoons of Oil. 2. Line a cutting board with paper towels, and pat the chicken breasts dry. Cut the breasts in half (favoring the thinner side will help it cook more evenly), and separate the tenders if they are still attached. Season the chicken with the chili powder and sea salt. 3. Transfer the breasts to the baking sheet and turn them to coat them in oil. Roast the chicken for up to 30 minutes for larger pieces, and check it at 15 minutes for chicken tenders. 4. Meanwhile, chop 1 onion and mince the garlic cloves. 5. Heat 2 Tablespoons oil in a soup pot over medium heat, and measure out your chili spices so that they are ready (chili, cumin, oregano, salt). 6. Saute the onions and garlic for 3-5 minutes. While onions and garlic are cooking keep an eye on your roasting chicken. When chicken is done cooking, remove it from the oven and let it cool.

7. Add the measured spices to the onions and garlic and stir until fragrant—about 1 min. 8. Stir in the zucchini and cook for another minute. Add 3 cups of chicken stock, 1 cup of salsa verde, and drained cannellini beans to the pot. Stir. 9. Turn the heat up to medium high and bring everything to a simmer. Meanwhile, start shredding or dicing your chicken, keep it aside, and pour the chicken juices into the pot. 10. Once your pot is simmering, turn heat down to medium low and cook for 10 minutes. 11. Scoop out 2 cups of the chili and put it into a blender. Holding the cover down with a kitchen towel, blend until smooth and add it back to the pot. Now add the chicken. Cook for 5 more minutes. 12. Squeeze the juice from a half or full lime. Taste for salt, and serve with garnishes.

Here are Some Ways to Chill All stressed out? Frustrated? Anxious?
Stress is so prevalent in our hectic society. There are a million things to do all the time. People constantly wanting to keep in touch with you via email and cell phone – bombarding you with constant information and requests! It just wears you out until you don’t know where to turn.
How Stress Affects the Body
Stress is your body’s normal physical response when you feel threatened or upset. It’s your body’s way of protecting you – it’s your fight-or-flight response – increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, decreased digestion, increased concentration and focus. A normal stress response can help you stay focused, energetic, and alert. In emergency situations, stress can save your life by giving you extra strength to defend yourself or react quickly to avoid danger.

The stress response can also help you handle challenges in normal, everyday situations such as keeping you on your toes during a presentation at work, increasing your concentration when you’re studying or taking exams or helping your focus when playing sports.
Meditate
However, stress stops being helpful if experienced for extended periods of time and can instead cause major damage to your health, your mood, productivity, relationships and eventually to your quality of life. According to the American Psychological Association, studies have shown that extended stress can alter the body’s immune system producing conditions that are usually associated with “aging” such as reduced ability to regenerate blood cells, frailty, functional decline, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, inflammatory arthritis, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers – all actually causing the body to appear physically older than its chronological age.
Simply close your eyes, breathe deeply and envision yourself somewhere peaceful. Just for a few minutes. Listen to the breeze or the waves in your mind and let it carry your tension away! It’s a great pick-me-up at any time (OK, maybe NOT when you’re driving – keep your eyes open then!!).
Counteracting Stress
Luckily there are many things you can do to reduce your stress levels:
Get a Massage
Massage promotes relaxation by relaxing muscles and relieving tension, aches and pain. It also • Improves blood and lymph circulation • Improves joint mobility • Improves immune system functioning • Improves and balances energy flow • Speeds recovery from strenuous physical exertion • Enhances tissue elasticity • Triggers the relaxation response • And just feels great
For some people the thought of sitting for any period of time with their own thoughts can be daunting at first, but it is amazingly relaxing. You don’t need hours of meditation to get the benefits, just a few minutes will help.
Have your “Bars Run”

Being in nature has a very soothing effect on the body. Go for a walk under some trees or on the beach. Sit outside and read. Listen to the wind and the birds.Just flow with nature and let your stress dissolve. And there are many other ways. It mostly comes down to this – Take time for yourself. Take care of yourself. You need that body for a while, take care of it! You take care of everything else and every one else, put yourself on the top of that list NOW!! You are important enough to have time for yourself! It’s all about you, baby! If you don’t take care of yourself, who will?

Here are Mindset, & Food Hacks to help you jump start your health and wellbeing, even if you feel you have ignored it all year, or longer!

Stay hydrated. MANY side effects to not drinking water, like dizziness, fatigue, and joint pain to name a few.

Don’t consume foods or drinks that have been in contact with plastic, styrofoam or nonstick surfaces. Replace plastic food and beverage containers with glass or stainless steel versions. Replace nonstick cookware with cast iron or stainless steel pots and pans.

Eat organic whenever you can. Avoid the Dirty Dozen, or the most contaminated fruits and vegetables: apples, strawberries, grapes, celery, peaches, sweet bell peppers, imported nectarines, cucumbers, potatoes, cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, summer squash and leafy greens, including spinach, kale and collard greens.

Open the windows. According to the EPA, indoor air is “more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities.” To help exchange and circulate air inside your home, open your windows as often as you can and if you have a mechanical ventilation system, use it regularly and keep it in good working order.

Detox once or twice a year. Use a comprehensive program designed to do three things: release toxins from their storage sites; support the liver in changing them into compounds we can more easily excrete; and eliminate them from the body. This can be accomplished with a diet low in sweets and starches, regular exercise, stress management, good sleep, sauna therapy and supplements that deliver the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids needed for detoxification.

I Am Good Enough: It isn’t money, resources, or skills, that holds people back, because we have all seen where people come from nothing and become doctors, entrepreneurs and get out of debt. It is a fear of not being good enough. Life is not all a dance on roses. You will feel down even when others think you’re a success, and you will feel on top of the world when everybody else thinks you’ve lost your mind. Funny how life works sometimes, isn’t it? I am Worth: A lot of self-sabotage happens because of this belief. Your beliefs can play tricks on you and it can be as simple as procrastinating and missing a deadline because you don’t think you deserve it or back to #1 above, are worth it. This happens in weight loss and business success. This belief can sometimes be resolved with a tool for “FORGIVENESS” that I use with my clients. I Can Do It: Here’s a trick I use with my clients when the “I can’t do this monster” pops her ugly voice into our thoughts. Start by KNOWING that you thought of it, therefore, it is possible. Next, tell yourself “Iam ready to see it happen “ or “I can see myself doing this.” Belief is all it takes, do not let doubt and fears stop you from achieving your next great idea, goal or challenge.
Lastly, know that accountability and coaching and investing in yourself is a tool that empowered and can push you into your greatest self! Invest in yourself.

Fabulous Women o look at her, you would NEVER have said “That is a heart attack waiting to happen.” She exercised, ate well, lost weight and even reduced her cholesterol prior to having a heart attack. Her heart attack could’ve been much more severe if she hadn’t already been on a healthy lifestyle tract.
On October 22, 2016 Audrey suffered a heart attack while doing yard clean up and walked around for two days not knowing she had it. She only discovered the heart attack at her previously scheduled annual physical two days later. Heart disease is the #1 cause of death among women in the western world. And it is largely preventable. Women delay seeking emergency medical help - even in the middle of serious heart attack symptoms. This is one of the main reasons heart attacks are so deadly for women. Audrey is a prime example. She got dizzy and felt a burning sensation with diffuse chest pain. She attributed those symptoms to vigorous exercise she had done the day before and the yard work she was in the middle of. She never thought she was having a heart attack. Her husband even asked her to see a doctor and she brushed it off thinking she had her annual physical scheduled and she’d see the doctor in a couple of days. Heart disease happens over time, often without symptoms. If you have a nagging feeling that you may be at risk for heart disease or have a strong family history of heart disease, be proactive. Visit your doctor and get blood work done to determine if you have genetic risk for high cholesterol and what you can control with your diet. Ignorance is not bliss. Inflammation and stress are some of the root causes of heart disease. And the good news is that you do have the power to change that. Pay attention to what you eat. Move more. Be grateful for the moment. And learn to manage stress. You have more power than you think. Here are heart attack symptoms to look for: 1) Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest. It lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back. 2) Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach. 3) Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort. 4) Other signs such as breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness. 5) Women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are more likely than men to experience other common symptoms. Source: American Heart Association. We all know the world is full of problems, but making sure everyone’s basic needs are met is the best place to start. If we don’t have the basics, like food and water, how can we be expected to make the world a better place?
It’s no secret that children are our future, but there are still 844 million people in the world without clean water. (wateraid.org) This staggering number includes people of all ages, but children are extremely susceptible to diseases. Five thousand children around the world die every day from drinking contaminated water because they don’t have access to clean water. If we want to secure our future and better the human race, this has to stop.
Heshie Segal is Working to Make a Difference
There are dozens of fabulous women working to make the world a better place. One woman is taking it to a whole new level. Whether you’re just starting a new business or coming back to your business after taking a break, there are a few things you want to consider as you lead your venture to fulfill your financial goal. Of course, your first step is deciding what product or service you want to provide. But what’s (almost) more important than figuring out what you’re selling is figuring out who you’re selling to. The product or service you provide to your target market should truly benefit them. Your target market is not “anyone and everyone.” Once you decide who your customer is, you have to figure out how to show them what you provide. The best way to do this, and maintain contact with your customers, is to build a database; the fastest way to build a database is to become a part of a joint venture. Somebody out there already has a database filled with your target market and interested parties. A joint venture will allow you allow you to offer more services while at the same time lightening the amount work you have to do. For example, I have a couple of women who are coming back to their chiropractic businesses. Instead of starting all over, they partnered with a multi-million dollar existing acupuncture venture, using that brand and their database of clients. Now these women offer two services and only work 3 days a week by choice! This brings us to another important consideration: ask yourself what you really want from getting back to business. Do you want to increase your income, and does it matter how? Do you want to be in the everyday grind of running your business and being responsible for the cash flow?

Once you decide how you’re going do business, you need to make sure that you keep the most money possible by incorporating your business. You might hear that you shouldn’t incorporate until you hit a certain cash flow threshold, but why wouldn’t you take advantage of the nearly 80,000 pages of corporate deductions in the U.S. tax code? There are 2 ways to make money in our country: as a corporation and as a “W-2 worker.” In the former, you make money, pay your expenses, then pay tax on what’s left. In the latter, you make money, get taxed, then get to live on what’s left. Which sounds better to you? After getting your corporate entity straightened out, you want to make sure you’re very clear about what you’re using your money for. Most people don’t have a plan for their money. It comes in and goes out, and then you wake up in your golden years with no savings and minimal, if any, cash flow. If you’re planning on using your income to invest, know the rates and timetables. An investment with a 10% return doubles your money in 7 years, so if you start at 50, you can quadruple your investment by the time you’re 64. If you’re using it for your lifestyle, have an idea how much you need every month (aim high!). Consider questions like: do you want to travel? What are your exact monthly expenses? How much do you want to pass on?
