Inspired by their brand ambassador and experienced commercial diver Roman Frischknecht, the Oris ProDiver Pointer Moon is a timepiece specifically designed to meet the demands of the world of professional diving. Previously, no watch on the market offered a way of indicating the tidal range, which is important for professional divers like Frischknecht to know while working.
The unique dial of the Oris ProDiver Pointer Moon is adapted to either the Northern or Southern hemisphere depending on your location.
With a power reserve of 38 hours, it boasts centre hands for hours, minutes and seconds, moon phase by centre hand, date window, instantaneous date, date corrector, fine timing device and stop-second, with an automatic winding, bi-directionally rotating red rotor. It comes with a multi-piece Titanium metal bracelet, secured by a security folding clasp with extension. Also available is a waterproof presentation box set, with additional rubber strap, and professional strap-changing tools.

“We have had a long history with the Formula One and with Williams. Oris is the longest standing sponsors of the Williams F1 time. We started with them 14 years ago and for us this was a big investment but it really paid off,” said Karim Gerber, Regional Brand Manager for Oris watches.

The watches have been developed to reflect the innovation and professionalism of the Williams F1 Team and the speed, power and aerodynamics of its cars. There are two base models in the collection – the 42mm stainless steel Oris Williams Day Date and the 44mm stainless steel Oris Williams Chronograph. Both models feature an all-new case shape, designed to mirror the silhouette of a Williams F1 car. The case tapers like the profile of the car, while the integrated lugs recall the shape of the nose cone. The designs also carry a number of clever touches that symbolise the spirit of a Williams F1 car. The crown has been engineered to resemble a wheel from the car’s gearbox, while the chronograph sub-dials all reset to a zero mark positioned at 8 o’clock, like the needles on dashboard instrument panels found on historic Williams F1 racing cars.
Both watches are powered by automatic movements visible through sapphire crystal case backs that reveal the iconic Oris Red Rotor, the symbol of Oris’s High-Mech watchmaking philosophy. Each watch will come with either an articulated stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap.
Bottas, who was in Abu Dhabi as Brand Ambassador of Oris, maker of luxury Swiss watches, was the star of an interactive session attended by select invitees and media representatives at the Yas Viceroy Hotel in Abu Dhabi, on the eve of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Bottas finished fifth overall in the 2015 Drivers Championship, with the team finishing an impressive third overall in the Constructors Championship.
Your entire F1 career so far has been with Williams. What does the team mean to you?
It means so much to me. They are very trusting of my skills so I am so thankful to them forever for bringing me on board and grateful for what we have achieved together. We’ve been improving all the time and making good results compared to my debut in 2013.
You’ve achieved some impressive results so far, with a 4th overall place last year, and 5th this year. Are you happy with those results?
Well of course I would like to win, I mean everyone does but you can only do what you can. Our car is not quick enough at the moment to win races so my job is to do the best with what I have and I think this year has been more of an unlucky season than last year so I think next year we can do better.
Given William F1’s success so far, how confident are you going into 2016?
We haven’t yet peaked as team so there is always room for improvement. We can make the car quicker and there is a lot of margin for improvement and many other things like the pit stops and how we operate. I’m only going to keep improving if I keep criticising myself so I’m feeling positive about 2016. Which technical changes are you looking forward to for 2016? Do you think they will help close the gap between Mercedes and the rest?
To be honest there are not a lot. It’s very minimal. So that means it will be a very tight competition. Hopefully we can challenge them for the wins.
