DIOR CRUISE 2021

French fashion house Dior celebrates local craftsmanship with its 2021 cruise collection.

The show was staged at the Piazza del Duomo in Lecce, a small historical town in Puglia, Italy. A theatrical stage was built, and a full orchestra played - all for an exclusively digital audience who streamed the show around the world. Inspirations from the Puglia region run deep throughout the collection.

Lecce’s history with bohemia, agriculture, arts, and crafts is weaved into bodices, skirts, and sheer overlays. The models wore kerchiefs in their hair or pastoral headscarves. A collection that erased the distinctions between the humble and the haute.
