LUXURY STAYCATION ON

As we enter The Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas, we are amazed by the atrium lobby which is vast and majestic, and the soothing water fountain immediately guides us into an oasis that proves perfect for the ultimate staycation. From the moment we checked in we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We checked into a wonderful sea view room to find a couple of coconuts with straws for us to enjoy a refreshing coconut water as we unpacked and settled in.

The view from the balcony makes you feel like you’ve left Doha even though you haven’t making it a true home-awayfrom-home. The gardens with their meandering pathways and neatly manicured bushes and trees leading out onto the beach are a rare yet splendid oasis here in the desert. The greenery reinvigorates the soul.

We spent our first afternoon at the relaxed, California cool, Santa Monica Breakfast Club where you can eat everything from lobster to the best beef burgers around. We started with Baja fish tacos which were almost a meal in themselves thanks to the handsomely portioned fish in wafer thin fresh bread. The San Diego burrito also made for a great lunch, but their menu is filled with crowd pleasers.
