Do you think there is a benefit to being a female in your industry?
I think now is a great time to take the opportunity to inspire other females - the landscape has massively changed since I was a graduate trainee in 2006. There is much more focus and action on inclusion and equality. Mourant has a 'one firm' ethos and nurtures a culture of inclusion and mutual respect where everyone is encouraged to be the best they can be.

What is the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part is coincidentally the part I also enjoy the most. Often we need to work as a team under pressure and to tight timeframes. While this can be challenging, I'm one of those people that thrives under pressure and enjoys the buzz of it.
Is there a female who inspires you in business?
What do you do day-to-day?
I check my emails before I get into the office and make my way into the office after the school run with a coffee in hand. I catch up with the team about the priorities for the day ahead. Day-to-day, I attend meetings, have calls with intermediaries and clients, fulfill my role as an authorised signatory in the business, get involved in transactional matters and also the day-to-day administration of our client portfolio.
I don't think I could single one out. Honestly, I'm of the view that every woman's success should be an inspiration to one another. I have friends in all different types of businesses, some with their own businesses, and they all inspire me and I learn something from each of them.
What are your career highlights so far?
I was originally a corporate lawyer in my twenties and qualifying as an English Solicitor in 2008 was a highlight. I've had some great opportunities over the years and worked on some amazing deals with some great clients, which I've thoroughly enjoyed. More generally speaking, I feel like retaining traction in my career and juggling this with life as a busy mum over the last decade, is something that I'm proud of and I hope inspires others that they can do the same with the right support. Joining Mourant has definitely been a highlight, it's truly a great and supportive place to work with a real team spirit, and I feel fortunate to work here.
What do you get up to outside the office?
I’m a mum to two boys aged 10 and 7 years and they keep me very busy and on my toes, along with renovating my house. I enjoy boxing at Boxinbusiness and I usually try and squeeze in at least four classes a week, as even on a busy day I always feel so much better for it. I’m a social person and like going out for food and enjoying the many good restaurants Jersey has to offer.
