How university unites people from all over the world in one place. I am fortunate to have met many inspirational students and professionals from varying backgrounds who have shared their incredible life experiences with me. It is a privilege to be studying alongside such hardworking and talented individuals.

What is the most challenging thing about going to university?

Adjusting to the university lifestyle and learning environment as a mature student. Moving to university meant stepping away from my comfort zone and leaving the security of my family, friends, and full-time employment. Fortunately adapting to university life has eased over time.

Why did you choose your university?

Coming from an island I preferred to study at a university situated along the coast. Plymouth is ideally located between beautiful coastlines and national parks. The university also has an exceptional reputation for the high level of marine research, teaching, and high specification facilities available to students.

What surprised you most about university life?

How much support and encouragement I received. Everyone understands how challenging it can be to contend with deadlines and exams whilst living away from home. The level of support provided by staff and students has made the transition to university life easier for
