For many occasions TravelSheetTM and MummyLinerTM are interchangable. However, TravelSheetsTM tend to be used when the emphasis is on ample foot room. MummyLinersTM are preferred when minimum weight is essential.

The COCOON® Vapor Barrier Liner surrounds your body with an ultralight, 100 % nonbreathable 20 Denier Ripstop Nylon shell that is laminated with a TPU-film on the inside. Ideal for long winter trips under extremely cold conditions, the technical liner minimizes evaporative heat loss and reduces dehydration. It helps to maintain the insulation and the loft of your sleeping bag by protecting it from body moisture. It also makes a great emergency bivy.

Egyptian cotton is a rare, long fibered cotton that is spun into a fine yarn. The result is a very lightweight and soft, yet durable fabric. Cocoon® liners made of Egyptian cotton are substantially lighter and more compact than those of regular cotton. A great compromise between regular cotton and silk!

Sustainability and Social Justice The premium quality organic cotton used for Cocoon® TravelSheets™ and MummyLiners™ is grown by Indian farmers. Organized in cooperatives, many small, family-owned Indian farms have gone organic over the last years. Organic cotton farming is characterized by a great respect for the environment, a number of natural approaches to pest management and soil fertility as well as social improvements for the farmers and their communities.

Ecological Viewpoint The conventional cultivation of cotton is characterized by massive use of insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers as well as enormous water consumption through irrigation. Organic, rain-fed cotton farming, by contrast, has no or hardly any negative impacts on soil, water tables, food chains and the global environment. It is an investment in the future of our planet.

Pesticide-Free Farming and Organic Fertilizers Indian organic cotton farmers use natural alternatives to pesticides and insecticides including neem plant-based pest control and they fertilize their fields with organic worm compost.

Advantages for the consumer The production of organic and Fairtrade cotton is frequently and strictly controlled by the cooperative, NGOs and official certifiers (e.g. GOTS). The consumer can therefore be sure to be buying a high quality, 100% organically grown, ethically manufactured product.

Flannel is brushed, especially soft and warm cotton. It adds more insulation than regular cotton and is perfect for cold places or to replace a sleeping bag in warm weather. Merino sheep provide extremely fine, non-scratchy, high-quality wool. TravelSheets™ and MummyLiners™ made of merino wool are soft, lightweight, stretchy and they add 7°C to the temperature rating of your sleeping bag. They also regulate temperature excellently. Air can circulate in the natural hollow spaces of the wool fiber, your skin can breathe and moisture is wicked away from your body. Even when used over a long period of time merino wool does not develop odors and stays germ-free.
