Brandon foster F O R G R E AT L - O -V- E WRITTEN BY: BRANDON FOSTER

Life beholds many queer feelings that are not issues to resolve or predict, these untold puzzling

works of art are meant to be encountered and uncommonly experienced. As a promise to selflessly place value in an accidentally on purpose act. This life can in turn hold many splendid moments, that in exchange leave behind a story built on one’s ability to endure. Endure by the power of being fueled with one unexplainable deep adoration. You can not glimpse at it, you can not caress it, and you must never assume you can command it. In spite of these facts appreciate this offering, fathom that you may only possess it within your own being and grant its radiant release. In one’s time, you are meant to hold many great loves that define your power to love and be loved. As you pass shadows in the dark that may sparkle at high noon understand one may hold the potential chance to plummet in fondness. As the moons pass the blessed act of your shadow coming across another mystical being may occur, but never one alike from another moons time. For attraction is only a temporary “love” lead by expectation but love is a permanent “attraction” found by destiny. For it was what it is so it will always remain as it should, for what is unconditional love under consequential conditions.

L

is for the way you look at me with eyes that never cease to lull my heartache. “Why do

you always look at me that way?” Don’t you dare ever stop tenderly stimulating each of my senses with no foreseeable explanation as to how it could be happening. “Why am I feeling

feelings let alone feeling this?” The rarity of this alluring effect overtaking me has lasted a million moments that I could stay lost in forever by my own volition. “I didn’t ask for this, naught like this, but will I remember?” Above all rose the undeniable crashes of emotions that advance and depart against my being in rhythmic waves that subsequently never seem to fade away from my existence. “This is only a craving, but will it matter once I’m full?” Distance consistently propels me further away yet nevertheless pulling me deeper into your protection. “What will happen if I choose me knowing this will never end?” Listening to the screams of her heart while denying the whispers in his head all together focusing on the gumption of their soul left a gonzo trail behind written in the stars. No one else may understand how vulnerably strong and safe you are, but I do. You might inevitably fail twenty-one thousand times more than another but you will prevail in this new life. As you are a special creation pieced together by deep compassion. Move forward with your goals that you must attain, triumph through the scars that have been placed on your heart by acts and words delivered by ones not yet capable of understanding. Life is incalculable, it refreshes with the overseen season’s weather. Even your coldest winter months happen for the greatest of reasons that we’re all here. Together it may feel eternal, like all you ever have is the sole choice to freeze them out, but do not let this world turn your heart of fire into a brick 33 below zero. I promise spring is upon its return and with it, new leaves will bloom that are better at being better.

Brandon foster O

is for the only one I see with eyes framed in gold and skin as soft as the gaze into my own. “Why can’t I say so?” Inside your delicate embrace, how could it feel like it was

meant for me like something since freshman year? Afraid to fall yet defined by a cluster

of adjectives and one belief that is wrapped in warmth and perseverance. “What will come of this?” Through the mist of fog and steam, a paramour devotion magnified through energy once transferred by a chase for glory. Terrified yet amazed by the capabilities of all my favorite pleasures creating a new world of inspiration. “Where did it all go perfectly wrong?” Leading you to better understand how to exonerate your foregone afreet so I may refrain from my own overtaking me. I already chose you although I’ll choose me over and over, you were my trophy once before. “Where will you find me?” Confess at this moment and foresee the time to adjust your artifice as I reclaim my sovereignty. “Will it be?” Gifted with true strength to adore, and a love so sweet it must be kept bottled to deny easy attachment. I couldn’t profess that my heart skipped a beat for you at first clear sight beyond the height of dawn. The essence of life is not being perfect like a fresh sheet of snow untouched. The essence of life is surrounding yourself with humankind that loves you when you’re being authentic and helping you through the failures so that you can continue to improve. Two souls searching for each other that never chose but took one look and never stopped for a second to look back. Unforgettable stubborn smirks and loving faces that one could say I’ve seen before. A gentle kiss that will never fade, stroll with me as I shyly give into your touch that makes me forget about them.

V

is very very extraordinary within everything that you hold as your power to transform me. “Why did you take so long to undress me?” I’ve loved you forever past a day for the lessons you’ve taught me to use as my protection against a turned blind eye. Tailoring my

wounds in satins and silk to rectify my circumstances of unprivileged birth. “Will it be worth the price?” Giving her the strength in red to stand with her smile from ear to ear in awe of her sheer perfection. Deciding to do what you please with what you have found as your need. “Will you fade or be eternal?” Tell me now is this what you do or is this who you are with each breath that you take and each step that you may make? “What could May say?”

FOSTER BRANDON

I tried to give away all the pain, I tried to break away from what wasn’t anymore the purest love I ever knew. Forced by fire and bridges I had to cross with the hope that my aptitude would bring me back to you, but there is only foolishness to return to what was left behind in this journey. I somehow let go of all the shame you left upon my intellect, although you made your final return reimagined and I now at last have found beings that also no longer bear this homogeneous pain that promise to protect me. Purposely isolated in the middle tray clinging for a first love to save from its own demise. I would have stayed up with you unbroken to sprawl underneath the starlight had I known how to save a life.

E

is even more than anyone that you adore. Claiming love lives on the wings of anointed

doves, and love is all that I can give to you. “Will you still keep me the way I’ve kept you?” Transfixed attention on the reflection of your honorable love that you now glorify is more

than just a game for two. Romanticizing the process of a true fool learning the rules to ultimately reach one along a conquest that concerns not all. Falling in line with what is the highest form of expression, desires, and truthful vents. A tree through obstructed sunlight rooted in kindness has grown deeply out of the soil where a slim seed was once planted long ago. “In the fullness of time do you concur?” The past may shed a flowing tear but I have retained and hitherto pardoned all. I am gratefully unshakable in the humbling belief that the worthy gift of life’s magic is offered till the end and this love brings me to my one knee. Current balances may delegate everything in the rotation of my gravitational pull, but something spiritual has synchronized deep in my incarnation. My love I take you but please do not break me. For it is only me and you in greatest love.

LARRY FINK American photographer Larry Fink is an icon, a dynamic spirit who resists being defined by his perhaps bestknown series, The Vanities, and who prefers a calm, quiet life on his Pennsylvanian farm over the hustle and bustle of New York City. On the occasion of his new solo show, Larry Fink – Retrospective, at Cologne-based Galerie Bene Taschen through 24 April 2021, Faddy Magazine spoke with the legendary photographer and storyteller about his life, his circle of like-minded photographer friends, recent projects, and why he still loves teaching and mentoring. As part of this special issue, Fink is sharing some rarely seen, love-inspired works as well as the best of his series The Vanities, Somewhere There is Music, and other works, on view in his current retrospective.

David Drebin David Drebin is pure energy. Once you’ve met him in person, you’ll never forget him. He stands out with his very open and engaging demeanor. His mindset is also reflected in his work, which is fresh and vivid, a mix of poetic narrative and contemporary drive. Following the spirit of his artworks – photographs, sculptures, neons, and light boxes – and on the occasion of his brand-new monography Collectors Edition, we went out to speak with the Canadian-born, New York-based artist about love, loyalty, and how far his creative process is driven by emotion.

MALO Malo is a photograph artist, who puts his work at the service of a story… Through his photo series, he questions life, family, society, in a way that moves people, and don’t leave them unconcerned. His work, that he calls himself as participative, questions the audience, whom, from spectator, becomes the actor of an exchange between himself and the artist; even an introspection. If the form and content are intimately linked, graphic and technics choices are made to serve the story that he tells us, as a translation of the questions that he brings and asks us.
