B io F A D L A N MA U LANA fadlan.maulana@gmail.com +62 822 4032 6066 After graduating from the School of Architecture Islamic University of Indonesia in 2016, I decided to try to become a freelance architect, starting from a simple project of simple house renovation to a two-story private home project, where the design process I went through based on the method that I've been learned at college. My interest is focused on the architecture design based on the user's need for his views and needs on the architecture itself, with the impression that there is not only physical satisfaction but the different feelings and senses that each user will experience with the product of the architecture itself, where the design methods that I use focused more on aspects of simplicity, lightness, metaphor, and, poetically.

Most of the slum context is located on the land that is not widely used, including in the riverbanks. Local Government has made various efforts to relocate residents of the slum with a solution of flats, but these solutions sometimes overlapping due to the location of flats and the workplace of their livelihood is too far, consequently, they come back looking for other locations and potentially create the new slums. The solution can be proposed is to continue to develop slum with a solution of flats, but by using an incremental housing as main approach, where the house will grow in accordance with the needs of residents, adjusted by the number of family members who will inhabit the house.

The concept of the mosque refers to the social, moral, and ritual aspects combined with the economic aspect, as a bridge between nagari and nagari, nagari with migrants, and migrants with migrants. The aspect of ritual and sacred is applied to the concept of mosque while still taking the philosophy of local traditional architecture, expositively from the formation and implicitly from the philosophy of space formed, transformed with Islamic philosophy, symbols, and patterns, so that the main function of the mosque will still be achieved and accepted by the community of Ambon City.

The building demarcation line takes a distance of 1m from the outer side of the site plus a distance of 1.2m for the green area requirement ie the front garden and part of the carport area, then the total demarcation line applied to the site is 2.2m.
The remaining site for the building area is built up 30 cm from the elevation of the neighborhood road, with the aim to anticipate the overflow of rainwater when it is in heavy rain conditions.
The site for buildings is not used fully for the purpose of building area, but used about 25% of the site for green area and infiltration, pond, and void garden inside the building.
The overall concept of zoning for the 1st floor is focused on semi-private needs and servicing, where the most important concept is the position of semi-open parlor and it is not directly connected to the inner space, with the aim of privacy and user safety.

The concept of zoning for the 2nd floor is focused on the user's private zoning, the preferred concept of zoning is the living room as a space generator that serves as a supervisor which is connected with the master bedroom and children's room, the service area for the laundry needs is placed at the rear of the building in order to keep the user's privacy.
The selection of gable roof is adjusted to the building mass that extends to the neighborhood road, the climate response also affects the selection of roof and water debit when it rains, and reduces the risk of roof leakage if the entire roof of the building only uses concrete floor slabs.
The overall of the building aesthetics is correlated with the functional aspects of the building, especially the functional aspects of the facade of buildings that connect directly with the main room, the use of secondary skin and the masses are purposely made oblique aims to avoid the afternoon sun directly into the building.
The integration of all aspects such as zoning, function, infiltration area, built area, roof selection, facade, and void is greatly affects of the final design results that are in line with user requirements, with the overall concept of using contemporary architectural concepts with scandinavian interiors.

The limited land issue becomes the main problem of urban dwelling which seems not possible to get adequate spatial function, so that the dwelling is designed to get maximum space obtained. The house seemed to be made massive and floored from the ground to the top of the building, with the appearance of a house that seemed individualist and also supported with the the same urban life, making the relationship of space around it became as narrow in social and architectural aspects. So the solution is how to create urban dwellings that are not physically impressed individual but also be integrated with the inhabitants of the house through the psychological relationship in space program.
