John Hay recognized as co-investigator for major research award

Researching the developing hip, Community Health Sciences Professor John Hay was a co-investigator on a project set to receive the 2013 Otto Aufranc award from the Hip Society. Read the full story here.

Uncovering a unique perspective on human sexual behaviour Anthony Bogaert’s research provides insight into what he identifies as a “fourth sex” — Asexuality. Accepting all IDeA’s for student accessibility

Last year, Brock Nursing student Hilary Tyler won third place ($500) in the IDeA (Innovative Designs for Accessibility) student accessibility contest for her campaign “Everybody Hurts”. Her submission aimed to promote empathy and break down attitudinal barriers for individuals living with mental illness. The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences would like to remind faculty to pass along details of this contest to encourgage students to submit their innovative accessibility IDeA’s. Recreation and Leisure students attend conference for outdoor education Recreation and Leisure students had the opportunity to present at the inaugural Horwood Conference on Outdoor Education at Queen’s University on January 25-26, 2013. The conference made a big impact on students, providing fourth year undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend and present. Read the full story here.

Faculty video Welcome to Applied Health Sciences. This video invites prospective students into the life of a FAHS student, making its debut at the 2013 Spring Open House. The video was well received by prospective students exploring the option of coming to Brock University next fall.
