ISSUE #08 SEPTEMBER 2017

LEADING THE WAY! When you think about it, Fairfield is small business. Small firms account for nearly half our jobs; they create the majority of new jobs; and they’re on the cutting edge of innovation, providing products and ideas for the future. Our entrepreneurs have the spirit to dream impossible dreams, take great risks, and work long hours to make their dreams come true. The fact is most successful entrepreneurs contribute a lot to society. They are the heroes of economic life. We don’t begrudge them the rewards for their hard work. Too often, entrepreneurs are forgotten heroes. We rarely hear about them. But look into the heart of Fairfield, and you’ll see them. They’re the owners of that shop down the street, the faithfuls who support our churches, schools and communities. Proof of that, is the small businesses that each year sponsor Culinary Carnivale and so many other City events, for that we are grateful. Entrepreneurs have always been leaders in Fairfield! The sponsors this year for Culinary Carnivale are: Fairfield Hotel, Fairfield Forum, Neeta City, Radio Austral, Fairfield City Champion, Elias Pharmacy, Filpure

Water Filtration Systems, St John’s Park Bowling Club and Galaxy Solutions System P/L. By working to ensure we live in a City that prioritises innovation, entrepreneurship and public safety we can create a better Fairfield for us to live and work in. Fairfield Council regards public safety as a top priority. With this in mind, the Place Team has installed more CCTV cameras throughout the City Centre, with new additions in Thomas Ware Plaza and The Crescent. People feel safer and these cameras continue to receive community support. Helen Pijaca Fairfield City Centre Co-ordinator
