IT BEGINS WITH YOU FRIENDS OF FAIRFIELD ATHLETICS

ABOUT FRIENDS OF fairfield ATHLETICS Gifts from Friends of Fairfield Athletics supplement the Athletics Department’s operating budget, making possible much-needed enhancements for the daily activities of our teams. These contributions also help build a solid foundation for the future of Fairfield Athletics. There are three main areas where we need your support:

FACILITIES, ENDOWMENT AND CURRENT USE.

Facilities Attractive, modernized facilities are essential to the viability of Fairfield Athletics.

Recruitment: When recruits decide on a college, facilities rank in the top three factors of their decision. Great facilities show prospective student-athletes — and coaches — that the University is publicly committed to its Athletics programs, and that their role is important. Fan Experience: Great facilities enhance the experience of both fans and student-athletes.

current use Current Use funds are gifts of any size to a Friends of Fairfield Athletics group for immediate use toward the most pressing program necessities and enhancements. Competitive Edge: Like endowment, Athletics programs with strong Current Use support are able to compete at a higher level, especially at the mid-major level. University Ranking: Higher education institutions are ranked in part on the giving participation rate of their alumni, so a gift of any size is important to the profile of the University and its Athletics program. Examples of Support from Current Funds: Travel: Out-of-region competition, training trips and off-season competition Equipment: Practice, travel and game gear Team Support: Meal plans, training, banquets and awards

Staffing: Support staff for varsity coaches

endowment Endowed funds continue to generate income over time, providing both stability and flexibility.

Competitive Edge: More teams, more scholarships, more equipment — a strong endowment gives an athletics program a strong base and a huge competitive advantage. Academic Excellence: A robust endowment ensures that student-athletes have the resources they need to make the most of both their athletic and academic experience. Donor Involvement: Donors actively decide where support will go. An endowment can be a family affair, with the programs you care about supported across generations. There are also numerous tax benefits.

Examples of Endowed Funds: Programmatic: Income is designated for the highest priority needs of a specific sport, beginning at $50,000, payable over three to five years Travel: Income supports out-of-region trips and out-of-season competitions Team/Coach: At their discretion, the head coach allocates to their highest priority — often recruitment

Scholarship: Scholarships sustain individual student-athletes in the named sport Coaching Positions: A donor-named endowed Head or Assistant Coach position ensures ongoing resources for that position
