Dear FAIS Community,

This was not the year I imagined when I took on the role of Director of Development at FAIS, but I could not be more proud to be a part of this community.

Though we were disappointed to cancel the Gala that our volunteers worked so hard to bring to life, our resulting Virtual Community Gathering brought in over 30% more in net revenue than the year before, thanks to the generosity of our families in supporting the Special Appeal. On top of that, the Annual Fund raised $40,000 more than last year. And all of this in the midst of a global pandemic.

The generosity of our community can be seen in every aspect of our school. From the commitment of our volunteers to fi nd unique new ways to bring our community together, to the parent-run food drives to support the greater Portland community, to the art project coordinators who drove projects from home to home so all the students were able to contribute to the fi nal project. Every day, I feel the generosity of spirit at FAIS.

Thank you for your warm welcome and your wholehearted support of this wonderful school. I can’t wait to see what this next unique year will bring.
