Artist Statement:
As an artist I connect with the world around me by the unique paring of symmetrical shapes and forms that occur naturally and those that are manmade. There is a past and a present in every image I see and both are equally affected by nature and man. There is a simplistic hopeful question that is asked and once analyzed and contemplated a vibrant answer is given. By capturing these images on film I experience that both man and nature are intertwined more than urban society acknowledges and that in order for man to realize his dream of a “good” life he must first decide what is important and then what cost he is willing to pay for it. There is a balance between darkness and light and when it is struck in perfect harmony the image will not only make you feel something but also call you to action.
