Gilded Balloon & Tron Theatre Company

Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut Written and directed by Morag Fullarton ‘…pure theatre magic… the secret of the show’s success lies in its combination of anarchic stage send-up and real passion for the essence of one of the great screen love-stories…’ **** The Scotsman

Saturday 8th September 8.00pm (1 30 m) Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut is a lovingly disrespectful homage to one of the classic films of all time. Morocco 1941, - a Nazi infested hotbed of corruption, teeming with refugees and all the flotsam and jetsam of war-torn Europe. Cut to Rick’s bar where the émigrés gather, desperate to get hold of the all-elusive exit visa, when who should walk in but the beautiful Ilsa, Rick’s long lost love… Casablanca has some of the most iconic scenes and best lines ever written, so why not play it again? Starring comic actor Gavin Mitchell (Boaby – Still Game, BBC Scotland) impersonating Humphrey Bogart playing Rick Blaine, alongside a brilliant cast of Clare Waugh and Jimmy Chisholm. Set in a tiny gin joint, this fast-paced, actionpacked comedy is a smart and lovingly disrespectful tribute to an all-time classic film. So raise a Bogart-style eyebrow, shed a Bergman-like tear, and drown out the Nazis with a rousing chorus of the Marseillaise as you revisit one of the greatest films of all time. £12 / £10.50 Excerpts from Casablanca granted courtesy of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

Rock of Ages

Le Petit Nicolas

Light-hearted film adaptation of the Broadway juke-box musical hit about two young people pursuing Hollywood dreams of stardom. Adam Shankman (‘Hairspray’) directs this rock ‘n’ roll romance with a cast including a villainous Catherine Zeta-Jones, and all-cylinders-firing Tom Cruise as ageing rocker, Stacee Jaxx. The musical numbers are a roll call of ‘eighties rock hits from artists including Journey, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar and Foreigner – stunningly mounted and lots of fun.

Adapted from popular series of French books for children this slightly absurdist, child’s-eyeview comedy shone as an audience favourite at film festivals. Eight-year-old Nicolas lives a supremely happy life until an overheard conversation leads him to surmise that his mother is pregnant. Horrified, he envisions the worst and so Nicolas and his friends decide to cook up a series of wild schemes to dispose of the baby.

FTH Café Bar The FTH Café Bar is open from one hour before the performance, at the interval (unless stated) and at the end of the show. Our friendly team will make your visit even more special with a soothing cuppa and a sweet treat or a tub of Soaves award winning ice cream. If you’re after something a wee bit stronger, then meet up with friends relax in our lounge bar. Remember - avoid those queues and order your interval drinks before the show. Just ask a member of the Team in the foyer or the bar who will be happy to take your order. Pick up your café loyalty card next time you visit us – and have a free cuppa on us! Collect a stamp each time you buy a coffee/tea at the FTH café, the Teashop at the Stables or the Hippodrome café pod – your sixth cuppa is free.

Margaret Denholm An exhibition of mostly acrylic paintings, Margaret’s inspiration are the rich colours of Scotland’s lochs and mountains which are reflected in her bold and vibrant landscapes. Cafe Bar
