STRICTLY BOTANICAL CURATED BY FIONA STRICKLAND 10 NOV 2014 – 17 JAN 2015 Fiona Strickland is an internationally renowned botanical artist who is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards from the Society of Botanical Artists and the Royal Horticultural Society. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and was recently commissioned by the Royal Mail to paint a poppy for the commemorative First World War Centenary stamp collection, which will display in this exhibition. Strictly Botanical brings together a stunning collection of botanical watercolours and works in pencil by a dedicated group of artists, passionate and committed to documenting plants in minute detail.

Bo’ness Rec Centre is proud to welcome a very special Christmas tree this festive period. Commissioned by Falkirk Community Trust in 2012 for Winter Warmth this stunning tree stands at 2 meters high and is made from waste plastic drinks bottles. By award winning ecoartist Sarah Turner, the bottles were collected from local cafés and households before being sandblasted, hand cut and sculpted into decorative forms. A real Christmas gem!
