Thu 3 Oct – Mar 2020 - Costume at the National Theatre (SE1) The National Theatre’s Costume department sources, constructs, alters, repairs, organises and maintains costumes for over 20 new productions on the South Bank each year. This free exhibition in the Wolfson Gallery features costumes from productions including Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, War Horse, Follies and Antony and Cleopatra, and visits each stage of the production process; from design to construction, sourcing and alterations, to dressing, repairs and laundering. www.nationaltheatre.org.uk

Fri 4 – Sun 6 Oct - Hillingdon Literary Festival (UB8) The Hillingdon Literary Festival is a free weekend of lively literary treats hosted by Brunel University London in partnership with Culture Bite. Sat 5 Oct - London Kid’s Experience: Graffiti Workshop (EC2Y) Discover street art old and new at this exciting workshop for children aged 7-11 at the Museum of London. You’ll start with a 30 minute tour around the galleries, looking at historic examples of street and urban art, before joining Graffiti Stars in a 90 minute workshop. Parents can leave their children to enjoy the workshop on their own, but are required for safeguarding purposes to stay within the museum site. £8 per child. Fri 25 Oct - Make Your Own Monoprint Workshop (HA5) This workshop at Harrow Arts Centre will give your child a colourful introduction to the technique behind mono printing (a form of print making). Using the drawing/mono printing technique, participants will be guided to explore a variety of objects from different angles and take home their own ink based mono print. Sat 2 Nov - Cassiobury Fireworks (WD18) Go along to Cassiobury Park for Hertfordshire’s largest FREE fireworks display organised by Watford Borough Council. Vibe 107.6FM will be keeping the crowds entertained on stage from 6pm with music and competitions, and the huge bonfire will be lit at 7pm followed by a spectacular firework display at 7.30pm.
