London Borough of Culture will return in 2022, and this time our very own Lewisham has won the accolade. An award of £1.35m will fund a year-long programme of activities championing cultural and climate change themes. An epic voyage

Sir Ernest Shackleton is one of Dulwich College’s most famous ex-schoolboys. In the winter of 1916 he boarded the 23-foot James Caird whaler and set off on an epic Antarctic voyage. The College have produced a short film celebrating Shackleton’s extraordinary exploits. Originally intended to support primary school learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, it is fascinating and available to all ages.
