OUR MISSION
IS TO KEEP CHILDREN SAFE AND FAMILIES TOGETHER Founded in Salem, Oregon in 1997, Family Building Blocks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and certified Relief Nursery committed to keeping children safe and families together in Marion and Polk Counties.
OUR METHOD
IS PREVENTION: AGES PRENATAL TO FIVE To focus on prevention, we partner with families with the greatest needs to provide high-quality, critical, and voluntary services. Eligibility is based on stressors and placement is prioritized based on need.

IS THAT PARENTS ARE A CHILD’S FIRST AND BEST TEACHERS Family Building Blocks offers support for parents to form strong bonds with their children and increase their readiness for their future. We believe all parents want to give their children the best possible start in life!

To ensure families in rural Polk County have better access to our services, Family Building Blocks expanded into Dallas and joined other direct service providers in the Dallas Academy Building.
Thanks to Mountain West Investment Corporation and the Larry and Jeanette Epping Family Fund through the Salem Foundation, FBB opened “Helen’s Place,” named after the mother of Larry Tokarski.

Over 1,800 gifts were delivered to families and over $5,000 was raised through our Hope for the Holidays program.
Uncorked welcomed nearly 500 individuals who helped raise over $450,000 for local children and families.
With a range of family-friendly activities, over 3,700 people attended this health and safety fair to celebrate local families.
Over 800 people gathered to meet Elaine, FBB graduate, and raise awareness to help local children and families.
