Once located in the woods of Turner, Oregon, Gilgamesh Brewing has expanded and moved into a new facility in South Salem on Madrona Avenue. The three Radtke brothers, and their father, Lee, spent the summer of 2012 recreating a former grass seed warehouse into a full-scale brewery. They also transformed the warehouse office building into a handcrafted restaurant featuring custom woodwork and metal fabrication. Pringle Creek runs along the covered back patio which opens up into the property’s large back yard creating a nice ambiance. The Gilgamesh motto is “a beer for everyone” and the range of selection provides the delicious proof. The menu ranges from gourmet burgers to flatbread pizzas, as well as weekly specials. A large variety of foods to cater to any taste are available. Sundays the kitchen staff is given free reign of the kitchen and their creations are always imaginative and tasty. Like their beer, Gilgamesh uses only the finest quality ingredients available and as locally sourced as possible. Their unique beers are utilized in most of the menu items as well. Chef David Wiesner grew up watching his mom cook for the family, observing the effort and love she put into each meal. As he grew older he realized that sitting down for family meals brought them closer together. David wanted to become a chef so he could facilitate bringing family and friends together for a great dining experience. David’s passion for bringing people to the table led him to Western Culinary Institute. After graudating in 2006, David began his professional cooking career. David’s first job was to work under Richard Dingle of Sunriver Resort. Richard taught him how to properly run a kitchen. Richard encouraged David to use his expertise in French cuisine and apply it to modern cooking. Later David returned to his hometown of Silverton to work under Jeff Nizlek of the Silver Grille. There he learned about sourcing ingredients directly from growers and utilizing every part of the animal to create fantastic dishes. Jeff taught him how to take classical techniques and improve upon them. Chef David has a true love for the Northwest and it shows in his cuisine. He loves incorporating local products in his dishes and letting the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. Chef David is a master of sauces and infusing new spices into traditional cooking. Today, Chef David is committed to the Roth’s brand promise of providing the highest quality products and excellent service.

Alexana Estate Vineyard & Winery was born of a chance meeting between veteran Oregon winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash and Dr. Madaiah Revana, owner of Revana Family Vineyard in California’s Napa Valley. With the help of PennerAsh, Dr. Revana acquired the uniquely situated 80-acre estate located on the Northwestern edge of the Dundee Hills AVA in the spring of 2005. This property’s unique composition of 18 various marine sedimentary and volcanic soil types make it the perfect place for Alexana to continue Revana’s commitment to producing exceptional estate grown wines. Each vineyard block of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Chardonnay is individually cultivated in a celebration of the property’s diverse soils, clonal selections and microclimates. Alexana uses only LIVE certified sustainable farming practices. In the cellar, Winemaker Bryan Weil carries out Penner-Ash’s minimalist approach to winemaking. Bryan focuses on small lot fermentations in a recently completed three-story gravity flow winery. Alexana’s Gold LEED-Certified tasting room is now open to the public daily and private tours are available by appointment.

WINERY
Argyle Winery’s history began when Brian Croser and Rollin Soles staked a claim in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, an ideal place for late season ripened Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit. Since 1987, Argyle Winery has produced world-class methode champenoise sparkling wine, barrel fermented Chardonnay and silky textured Pinot Noir from low-yielding vines on winery-farmed hillside slopes. Argyle farms is composed of three vineyards: Knudsen Vineyard, Lone Star Vineyard and Spirit Hill Vineyard. The 120 acre Knudsen Vineyard was first planted between 1972 and 1974. The high elevation blocks of this landmark Dundee Hills site are key components in Argyle’s Sparkling wines. Knudsen provides Argyle a mix of old vine blocks and new high density blocks planted with “Old World” Dijon clones. In 1996 Argyle purchased a spectacular 160 acre vineyard site in the east slopes of Eola Hills, known as Lone Star Vineyard. Located 15 miles south of Argyle’s winery in Dundee, this warm site is planted primarily to Dijon clones of Pinot Noir. This vineyard has the potential to be one of Oregon’s best Pinot Noir vineyards. Spirit Hill was purchased in 2008. This Eola-Amity Hills 180 acre site was planted to 30 acres in the first year and now has 100 acres planted. Located south and up slope from Lone Star Vineyard, a great future of distinctive wines awaits Argyle from this impressive site. The Spirit Hill Vineyard will draw on Argyle’s experience in higher elevation fine wine grape growing. A pioneer cemetery came with the purchase, adding to its potential other world quality! All grapes are hand harvested into small baskets and transported to the winery. Grapes are chilled overnight to 35°F before crushing the next day. Chilling preserves the ripe fruit characteristics and naturally limits oxidation.

TASTING NOTES
2012 Argyle Winery Vintage Brut In the Willamette Valley, 2012 was a season of generosity without sacrificing focus. In order to retain precision, 90% of the blend was fermented in stainless steel and only 10% fermented in neutral oak barrels, while none of the base wine parcels underwent malolactic fermentation.Yellow summer fruits, baked apple, and ginger spice up front, the mid-palate is creamy, concentrated and fleshy. The long finish is enlivened by mouth-filling volcanic structure and lively acidity. 2013 Argyle Winery Reserve Pinot Noir An admirable glimpse of the Willamette Valley’s finest offerings, the Reserve Pinot Noir is truly a celebration of balance, bring cherry, supple raspberry, embraced by hints of toasted nutmeg and rich earth. The tannins are firm, but rounded, an underlying minerality which drives the mid-palate through the long finish. While delving for pure fruit flavors and juicy acidity, Argyle Winery hangs their phenolic hat on their trademark silky texture, which has been enhanced through cold soaking in small, 1.5 ton fermenters, before aging 16 months in French oak barriques. 2013 Argyle Winery Lone Star Vineyard Nuthouse Pinot Noir In years like 2013, it pays dividends to have a warm, low-elevation growing site like in the Lone Star Vineyard. Southeast facing, at 250-400 ft. elevation, the fruit at Lone Star captures all of the early morning sunshine, leading to elegantlyconcentrated Pinot Noir. On September 18th, facing the impending rain forecast, Argyle Winery dropped the hammer and initiated a concerted two day picking of their best blocks of Lone Star Pinot Noir fruit. The decision paid off, as the wine is now showing bright raspberry, spicy floral and black tea flavors, all woven into a rich, yet energetic frame. A mild grip of tannins is carried through a long, savory finish.

Bethel Heights Vineyard was established in 1977 in the Eola-Amity Hills by twin brothers Ted and Terry Casteel and their partners Pat Dudley and Marilyn Webb. They produced their first estate wines in 1984. Since 1977 they have expanded the estate vineyards from the original 50 acres to over 100 acres. This expansion includes the adjacent 25-acre Justice Vineyard established in 1999 and the nearby 28-acre Ingram Lane Vineyard planted in 2008. After thirty-eight years, the original 50 acres of own-rooted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines continue to provide the backbone of Bethel Heights estate grown wines. Gnarly old vines, geologically complex hillside soils, Æolian winds, all conspire to create highly energized wines with firm backbones, depth of character, and distinctive personalities. Nine different bottlings of estate grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay each year barely begin to tell the tale. In 2006, cousins Ben Casteel, son of Terry and Marilyn and Mimi Casteel, daughter of Ted and Pat took the helm as winegrowers at Bethel Heights. Ben and Mimi maintain the family commitment to building sustainability and stewardship of the land into all aspects of growing grapes and making wine. Tradition spiced with revolution is proving to be a recipe for ever-moreinteresting wines.

TASTING NOTES
2013 Bethel Heights Vineyard Æolian Pinot Noir Aromas of Rainier cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate with hints of pumpernickel and juniper berries. The palate features raspberries framed by racy acidity and fine-grained tannin, adding length but also lead to a darker, tighter finish than the nose would suggest. This wine will benefit from 5-7 years of cellaring. 2013 Bethel Heights Vineyard Estate Chardonnay Bethel Heights Vineyard 2013 Chardonnay Estate has all of the characteristics they look for from truly great vintages: energy, tension between the acidity and fruit, and a long, harmonious finish. This wine should age gracefully over the next 5 to 7 years. 2014 Bethel Heights Vineyard Justice Vineyard Pinot Noir Aromas of blackberry, black currant, and anise with hints of oak spice and almond butter. The wine is full and expressive on the palate, featuring raspberry and blackberry flavors that quickly give way to the natural acidity and a dense core of tannin. The 2014 Justice is an athletic, muscular wine that will require some cellaring to reach its full potential.

Founded in 1998, Brooks is a reflection of the visionary Portland native, Jimi Brooks. His reverence for the land and vines made him a practitioner of organic and biodynamic farming. The great respect for vineyard individuality and mastery of blending allowed his wines to achieve the greatest depth, flavors and balance. While Jimi is no longer with us, his dynamic spirit lives on through his wines, family and friends. With the outpouring of generosity and friendship from Oregon wine community, Brooks is delighted to share that they continue and are stronger than ever with the addition of their new winery in Amity, Oregon. Jimi’s son Pascal is the sole owner of their winery and Jimi’s sister, Janie Brooks Heuck, has remarkably volunteered her time to lead it. Christopher Williams continues to make Brooks wines in the same thoughtful manner as their founder. Brooks is steadily guided by the legacies that Jimi left. His strong commitment to organic and biodynamic farming in the vineyards, gentle approach to winemaking and excitement for future harvests are put into action every day. Pinot Noir and Riesling can be grown and produced in Oregon. Visit Brooks tasting room Tuesday-Sunday from 11 am-5 pm, Mondays, by appointment.

TASTING NOTES 2013 Brooks Willamette Valley Riesling Ripe fruit on the nose with some tropical guava, passion fruit and orange. A bit of exotic spice like smoked paprika, mint, caraway and cardamom. Nectarine, apricot and fig with white peach and tangerine fruits in the mouth. This is bone dry Riesling, with an amazing core of minerality and acidity, like a classic Mosel Riesling. Slight herbal notes in the mouth as well and a typical touch of gasoline, this wine finishes with minerality, fruit and vibrant acidity and leaves your mouth watering. 2014 Brooks Estate Riesling Kumquat, Charlyn melon, yellow pear and Fuji apple. High notes of julienned basil, parsley and English thyme in the nose. Very similar in the mouth with orchard fruit, melon and kumquat, and more citrus flavors like nectarine and orange. The high notes of fresh cut herbs brings a wonderful complexity to the wine. The acidity is loved, which is preceded by lovely compact bright fruit flavors that finish with a touch of dry tannin for a deceivingly full-bodied Riesling. 2015 Brooks RosĂŠ of Pinot Noir Electric pretty pale pink color. Watermelon Jolly Rancher, fresh Rainier cherry, pomegranate and orange peel. Apricot, rhubarb, raspberry, chamomile, slight spring herbal quality, light-bodied with medium acidity and a steely, stony finish. This is a dry rosĂŠ with pretty delicate fruit and more of an old world minerally bright style. 2015 Brooks Janus Pinot Noir Stalky, rhubarb, bright red cherry, violet, smoke, roasted beets and forest floor with subtle brown spice. Lighter bodied with brilliant, focused red fruit; red cherry, cool climate raspberry, beet root, sasparilla, cola and mushroom. Earthy, finish with red fruit, forest floor, hummus, root, portabella. Lively bright acidity with a finish that suggests earth, mineral, rich soil and under ripe red fruits.

The development of Cristom Vineyards is the result of a twenty-plus year collaboration between an engineer, a winemaker and a farmer. Founder Paul Gerrie hired Cristom’s winemaker Steve Doerner and Vineyard Manager Mark Feltz in 1992. Together at the winery they have consistently produced masterful and expressive Pinot Noirs while remaining avid stewards of the land. Cristom Vineyards winemaking philosophy begins with respect for their land and estate vines, and the natural process of fermentation. Their vineyards and winery are Certified Sustainable by Low Input Viticulture & Enology (LIVE) and are thoughtfully and meticulously farmed with a focus on quality. With minimal intervention during the winemaking process, Steve guides the wines from vineyard to bottle, producing the ultimate expressions of the stellar fruit Mark grows every vintage. The four estate Pinot Noir single-vineyards - Eileen, Jessie, Louise and Marjorie - are named for Gerrie family matriarchs. Each of the “Four Ladies” have natural variances in soil, elevation and exposition, and Steve strives to craft wines that are an honest recording of both the vineyard and vintage. While Cristom is widely recognized for their single-vineyard wines, nowhere is Steve’s gift for blending more apparent than in their hallmark Pinot Noir Cuvées, Mt. Jefferson Cuvée and Estate Pinot Noir. People often confess to a favorite from among Cristom’s “Four Ladies,” recognizing that each offers a distinctive, individual style and flavor all her own. Cristom is fortunate enough to produce estate-grown Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Gris and Syrah, all of which allows them to further express their house style and winemaking philosophy across different varietals.

TASTING NOTES
2013 Cristom Vineyards Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir In the glass, the 2013 Mt. Jefferson Cuvée is showing like a cool year in the Willamette Valley with bright, red-fruit aromatics, elegant, balanced tannins and persistent acidity. Even though it was a warm spring and summer, the rain impacted the season and like many cooler vintages, their winemaker made the deliberate decision to use less whole clusters in 2013. This wine will be one the finest expressions of the vintage as it is composed of some of the earliest and latest fruit harvested in 2013. They found impressions of pomegranate and mixed berries and the youthful aromas to be complex and intriguing. It is a mid-weight wine, spicy on the palate, with a luscious, velvety texture that is very promising. 2013 Cristom Vineyards Jessie Vineyard Pinot Noir The growing season was warm leading Cristom to an early harvest. The rainstorm in late September changed the very nature of the vintage. You can speak about 2013 as two vintages in one because the wines produced from the fruit harvested before and after the rain made very different wines stylistically. The first blocks harvested before the rain produced ripe expressions of Pinot Noir with great depth of flavor and concentration. The fruit picked after the rainstorm produced more refined, elegant expressions of Pinot Noir as if grown in the cool Willamette Valley. 2014 Cristom Vineyards Estate Viognier The 2014 growing season was the second warmest vintage in Cristom’s history and produced rich and ripe wines. A white flower bouquet redolent of honeysuckle and jasmine, combined with richness on the palate from undergoing a partial malolactic fermentation, make this wine enjoyable on its own as well as a serious food wine.

TASTING NOTES 2012 Dobbes Family Estate Quailhurst Vineyard Pinot Noir Opulent strawberry, dried cherry and fresh red currant aromas are matched with complex spicy oak characters of vanilla and graham cracker along with subtle cardamom, star anise and floral rosehips. The palate, like the aroma, has diverse fruit characters of red plum, strawberry preserves, cranberry and raspberry. Oak flavors of vanilla pipe tobacco and cedar play well with notes of sweet dried herbs. A full bodied entry is framed with structured tannins that carry through a long, bright acid finish. Within a warm, early drinking vintage this wine has the intensity and structure for continued bottle aging; enjoy now through 2017. 2013 Dobbes Family Estate Griffin’s Cuvée Pinot Noir Eight vineyards were used to assemble the 2013 Griffin’s Cuvée. Notable contributions from Symonette and Wilikia bring dark-berried fruit, body building tannins and lengthening acid. Roserock, Jean Ray and Vista Hills provide a solid core of red fruit found in cherry and strawberry along with complex floral rose. Quailhurst doses a pretty dollop of strawberry countered by dark brambly spice, Italian plum and structured tannins from Momtazi. A theme of bright acid on the palate carries the finish and will support the wine as the tannins age. After blending in May, the cuvée was moved to 57% first fill oak which plays a significant role in the diverse aromas and flavors of vanilla, black pepper, anise, nutmeg and ginger. 2013 Dobbes Family Estate Patricia’s Cuvée Pinot Noir Elegant red fruit aromas of red currant, cherry and red licorice countered with blueberry, cedar, vanilla and nutmeg. Acid driven entry on the palate followed by medium body and youthful tannins. Juicy fruit flavors of pie cherry, boysenberry, and huckleberry mingle delicately with cola, vanilla and spicy nutmeg from 10 months in 60% new French oak. The finish is long and carried by juicy acid and fine grain tannins. 2014 Dobbes Family Estate Crater View Vineyard Grenache Blanc Dobbes sixth vintage of Grenache Blanc brings a beautifully complex and rewarding wine. White peach, apricot, almond, honeysuckle, hints of bread yeast, subtle vanilla and varied tropical accents build the bouquet. The flavors are as varied as the aroma; with floral blossom and stone fruit leading, supported by pineapple, grapefruit and golden raspberry. Mouth-watering acid defines the mouthfeel built on silky smooth body built from barrel fermentation. A long finish leaves a lasting impression from a rare and unique wine.

Since their first vintage in 1999, Owen Roe has been working to produce exceptional wines from Oregon and Washington. Their winery is named after Owen Roe O’Neill, a 17th century Irish Patriot who dedicated his life to upholding the highest principles of political equality and freedom. Partners David and Angelica O’Reilly and Ben and Julie Wolff share his dedication to principle and excellence with their meticulous attention to every aspect of winemaking and farming. At Owen Roe, they practice minimal handling and traditional techniques to produce the most authentic expression of each varietal. This philosophy of non-interference makes their commitment to the fruit paramount. Carefully chosen vineyard sites and hands on involvement with the vineyard are some of their most important winemaking work. Owen Roe uses only organic materials in the winemaking process to ensure that the effluence leaving their winery can go directly to wetlands. This principle of stewardship is carried over from their vineyard practices, where only the most natural products are used to care for their vines. Owen Roe invites you to visit their winery and tasting rooms in Oregon and Washington. It’s time to learn more about Owen Roe and enjoy their wines.

With an affordably priced Oregon wine brand, word will spread about Oregon’s awesome wine scene. They produce a Wildstock Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. Featured wines are from Scott Paul and Wildstock. The winery, across the street from the tasting room, was formerly a granary. Sineann, with owner and winemaker Peter Rosback, is a small producer of highly intense wine in Yamhill County, Oregon. Sineann sources fruit from some of the best vineyards in the region including Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley and the Hood River Valley, Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel from the Columbia Valley, Gewurztraminer from the Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge. Sineann recently started making wine from the Napa Valley. Sineann growers have great pride in the grapes they provide. Almost all the wines are vineyard designated. No expense is spared in the pursuit of great wine. Crop levels are kept very low at one to three tons per acre. Winemaking is meticulous. All fruit is hand-sorted, delicately de-stemmed, punched down by hand, gently pressed and gravity-racked. The wines are aged in new and oneyear old French oak. Sineann strives to make great wine. It’s the only kind of wine that is exciting to make and gratifying to share. Peter Rosback believes that food and drink, lovingly prepared, make for happier and healthier people.

TASTING NOTES
2013 Sineann Winery Abondante Blend The name Abondante is derived from the Italian word for abundance, this wine is truly an abundant assembly of various grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, and Zinfandel from both sides of the Columbia River are blended together in quantities to compose a wine that fills the palate with intriguing characters of cedar, cigarbox, blackberry, and cassis. The Zinfandel is the main influence in the nose and provides a smooth transition between the attributes of each variety. It also contributes a long lingering finish to this full-bodied wine. 90-Wine Spectator 2013 Sineann Winery Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon This wine showcases fruit from three fantastic vineyards in two of Eastern Washington’s notable appellations. The winemakers have blended Cabernet Sauvignon from Champoux, formerly Mercer Ranch, and Phinney Hill vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills and Canyons, on Red Mountain. This Cabernet is bursting with silky fruit, a fabulous nose, numerous old and new world Cabernet flavors. Discover a finish that goes on and on, with just a hint of the astringency that promises great ageability. 91-Wine Spectator. 2014 Sineann Winery New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Every spring, Peter Rosback packs up and heads for New Zealand. There, he creates this delicious wine from grapes grown in the Sonflower Vineyard Marlborough, in the Northeast corner of the South Island. With grapefruit, Serrano pepper, and passion in the nose, the wine has power and finesse, with wonderful fruit buoyed up on the palate by just the right amount of racy acidity. The perfect wine for seafood, shellfish, poultry, and vegetarian fare.

St. Innocent was founded in 1988 by its winemaker and president, Mark Vlossak. St. Innocent produces small lots of handmade, vineyard-designated wine from some of the best sites in the Willamette Valley. Since their founding, they have grown from 600 cases their first year to a current production up to 10,000 cases, yet still, each wine is handcrafted in the very same manner as in 1988. Year after year, St. Innocent has received recognition from throughout the country and around the world for its outstanding Pinot Noir, beautifully-crafted white wines and fair pricing. Mark’s raison d’etre is to produce wines that reflect their terroir, the specific qualities of the vintage and his vision of wine’s place in life to complement and extend the pleasure of food. To accomplish his goal, he picks fully ripe fruit at the point of maximum complexity and ferments it to extract the perfect balance of flavor and tannins desired. This produces wines that display their unique fruit character as well as secondary flavors specific to the terroir of the site: spice, pepper, mushroom and earth. Mark’s result is wines with higher acid levels and diverse yet harmonizing flavors.

2013 St. Innocent Winery Zenith Vineyard Pinot Noir All nine blocks planted and farmed for St. Innocent Winery are mature enough to be used in their Estate Pinot Noir. In 2011 only four blocks were used. The addition of five new vineyard blocks into the Estate wine created a breadth and depth of flavor from this engaging and pleasurable site. The multidimensional components will evolve over a dozen or more years. 2014 St. Innocent Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir This wine has beautiful fruit and ripeness on the palate. It is barrel fermented a small portion and the wine is aged on its lees to balance the full texture of many shellfish dishes. It is finished completely dry. Enjoy with appetizers or seafood such as mussels or oysters. 2014 St. Innocent Winery Zenith Vineyard Oeil de Perdrix Oeil de Perdrix translates to “eye of the partridge,” and is an old name for a very pale rosé wine made from Pinot Noir. In many ways, this wine has more similarities to German Riesling than Pinot Noir, except for its plum scents. The grapes were whole cluster pressed and fermentation was stopped just short of dryness. This is the perfect wine to pair with your summertime picnic in the park. Enjoy with potato salad, cold chicken or burgers.

BREWERY
Gilgamesh Brewing is a family owned and operated brewery located in Salem, Oregon. Founders Mike, Nick, Matt and Lee Radtke started their brewery in an out-building on small acreage in the foothills south of Salem in 2009. The family brewers developed their unique brews, frequently using non-traditional ingredients, on repurposed dairy equipment. Their beers quickly became popular with the local community, and outlying areas. Gilgamesh had outgrown their facility by 2011, and began looking for a new location. They refurbished their new facility in late 2012 on an amazing 3 acre lot and dubbed it “The Campus.” A large family restaurant and pub with a fantastic outdoor patio sits adjacent to the rehabilitated Pringle Creek. The property also has a large outdoor event area which works great for large parties, reunions and occasional weddings. The large manufacturing building houses their new state-of-the-art brewing facility. Their high-efficiency brew house reduces energy, water, raw ingredients and labor to provide a more sustainable product. The brewhouse also gives them the freedom to create new and unique beers to keep their customers on their toes. A lot of Gilgamesh Brewing’s success can be attributed to their award-winning and unique brew Mamba; brewed with black tea and tangerine peel with only a smattering of hops. A light-flavored and smooth-bodied brew has a taste that can only speak for itself. Other flagship beers such as Oedipus IPA, HopScotch strong ale and Vader CDA can be found on draft, in 22 oz. bottles and in 12 oz. six pack cans all over Oregon, Washington and as far west as Japan. Gilgamesh provides a plethora of different beers; simply put, “A Beer for Everyone!”

6 COMMEMORATIVE PAINTING “Novice Flyer” by Jed Thomas
“I was interested in conveying something about the exhilarating and yet anxious feeling one has when taking the risk of trying out something for the first time. Some new challenges seem daunting, causing you to hesitate and even procrastinate taking that first step. Yet that moment you make that leap a new adventure begins and the fear of falling begins to fade away.” -Jed Thomas That statement by artist Jed Thomas truly captures the spirit of our 2016 commemorative painting. Titled “Novice Flyer,” this framed oil masterpiece measures 30” x 40” unframed. Jed Thomas graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and from Arizona State University with a Master of Fine Arts in printmaking. Jed maintains a demanding schedule, actively producing amazing works of art while working as a full-time school psychologist in the Salem-Keizer School District.

7 BRITTAN INSTANT CELL AR This stellar collector’s package includes almost every Oregon wine produced by Brittan Winery. The depth and life-longevity makes these wines truly extraordinary. They are micro produced, with several at or under 100 case production. Robert Brittan served as the head wine maker for Stags Leap Winery in Napa Valley for 16 years. He made wines that had long lives ahead of them, and now he creates Oregon Pinots that are very cellar worthy. The quality of these wines is exceptional and rival anything produced in Oregon. The cool climate Syrah is much like northern Rhône wines. The Chardonnays are very full of mineral and excellent acidity, with tropical and stone fruit characteristics that are very reminiscent of white Burgundy. The pinot have an intense palate, vibrant mineral character and acidity, with outstanding color, and balance. These wines are delicate with finesse, but intense and mind blowing all at once. They are made to age. “A personal encounter with these singular wines should be high on the to-do list of any wine lover - not just Pinotphile - who hasn’t yet had the experience.” – David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, August 2012 2010 Brittan Syrah............................................................................................. four 750mL bottles 2010 Brittan Basalt Block Pinot Noir......................four 750mL bottles Wine Advocate 93 points 2010 Brittan Gestalt Block Pinot Noir.................... four 750mL bottles Wine Spectator 94 points 2011 Brittan Syrah............................................................................................. four 750mL bottles 2011 Brittan The Puncheon Pinot Noir........................................................... three 750mL bottles 2011 Brittan Gestalt Block....................................three 750mL bottles Wine Advocate 95 points 2011 Brittan Basalt Block Pinot Noir......................four 750mL bottles Wine Advocate 94 points 2012 Brittan Gestalt Block Pinot Noir.................... four 750mL bottles Wine Spectator 93 points 2012 Brittan Basalt Block Pinot Noir................... three 750mL bottles Wine Spectator 94 points 2012 Brittan Basalt Block Pinot Noir............................one 1.5L bottle Wine Spectator 94 points 2013 Brittan Gestalt Block Pinot Noir five 750mL bottles NYR 2013 Brittan Cygnus Pinot Noir.......................three 750mL bottles (1st Release, Flagship Wine) 2013 Brittan Basalt Block Pinot Noir.................................................................five 750mL bottles 2013 Brittan Chardonnay...................................... four 750mL bottles Wine Enthusiast 94 points 2014 Brittan Chardonnay......................................................................... four 750mL bottles NYR

SILENT AUCTION 110. THE AVA COLLECTION
The Pinot Noir grape is very sensitive to and reflective of the terroir in which it’s grown. This means the climate, soil and topography of the vineyard can impart a unique quality to the resulting wine, giving it very different characteristics. For this reason, it was decided to delineate the Northern Willamette Valley AVA into six specific sites.
