“NO BABY WET BEHIND DIAPER DRIVE” Absecon United Methodist Women (UMW) declared May as “No Baby Wet Behind” month. We’re so thankful for the generous donation of 1,751 diapers, 4,220 wipes, and other miscellaneous infant/ toddler care products. We’re especially appreciative to Lynn Caterson, FSA Board Member, for spearheading this endeavor. The diapers and wipes were distributed to our Parents as Teachers program and our Family Success Centers.
11TH ANNUAL FSA GOLF TOURNAMENT The 11th Annual Golf Tournament and Youth Clinic was held on Friday, May 29th at the Mays Landing Country Club. We truly had a splendid day on the green and the agency grossed over $17,000 with a total of 50 players and 6 youth clinic participants. The virtual program can be viewed online at www.fsasj.org
THE BARGAIN BOUTIQUE GRAND REOPENING On Saturday, May 16th, Family Service Association hosted the Grand Reopening of the Bargain Boutique. The ribbon cutting took place at 10 am with city government, local political officials, Board members, FSA staff, and the community alike in attendance. The reopening was a huge success!

THE JOURNEY NEW DAY FAMILY SUCCESS CENTER JOB FAIR New Day Family Success Center hosted a Job Fair on Wednesday, June 17th from 10 am - 1 pm. A host of companies, including Lowe’s, Lane Bryant and Brooks Brothers, were among some of the employers interviewing potential workers. 192 individuals registered to attend the Job Fair. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with employers to learn about full and part-time positions and to network. Job seekers were able to identify employers based upon their career interests, practice connecting with professionals (networking) and their personal pitch. Abatis Security in Atlantic City reported that they hired (5) individuals as a result of the Job Fair. The positions secured were for Security and Ushers for Boardwalk Hall events. Great job, team!
2014 HENRY J. REMEIS AGENCY DIRECTOR'S A WARD Cindy Herdman Ivins, President/CEO, was honored with the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey's 2014 Henry J. Remeis Agency Director's Award on Wednesday, June 10th. FSA is a better organization through the combined efforts of amazing leadership and staff.
FSA SPIRIT NIGHT AT CHIC -FIL-A Plans are underway for an FSA Spirit Night at Chic-fil-a Egg Harbor Township on Tuesday, July 21st from 5-8 pm. 10% of the night’s proceeds will be donated to the agency. This event will be a great way to pull the team together, boost morale, and provide community visibility. Proceeds collected will benefit the Spruce and New Day Family Success Centers.

THE JOURNEY JOIN US FOR OPERATION BACKPACK 2015 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. donated book bags collected during their recent North Atlantic Regional Conference held in Atlantic City this past spring. The estimated donation value of the bags was $1,680. We’re so thankful for Diana Fauntleroy, FSA Board Member, for bringing the sorority to our organization. Join us as we begin Operation Backpack 2015 in mid-July. Our approach this year will be to request corporate sponsors to “Host a Box - Invest in a Child.” If you’d like to make an individual donation of a filled backpack, school supplies, or a gift card, you can drop-off your items at any FSA location. FAMILY OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS Family Service Association has given the Henry West Leeds Award for decades to a local family that exemplifies the importance of family life and has shared their time and talents in community service, thereby making a significant contribution to children, families and communities, which is the hallmark of our mission.
