This Week
Real-Time Market Profile Median List Price Asking Price Per Square Foot Average Days on Market (DOM) Percent of Properties with Price Decrease Percent Relisted (reset DOM) Percent Flip (price increased) Median House Size (sq ft) Median Number of Bedrooms Median Number of Bathrooms
The median list price in PORTLAND, OR 97201 this week is $450,000. Inventory has been tightening but days-on-market and the Market Action Index have been basically unchanged, not providing strong indication for market conditions.
Market Action Index
Supply and Demand The market has been cooling over time and prices have recently flattened. Despite the consistent decrease in Market Action Index (MAI), we're in a Seller's Market (where significant demand leaves little inventory available). If the MAI begins to climb, prices will likely follow suit. If the MAI drops consistently or falls into the Buyer's zone, watch for downward pressure on prices.

The Market Action Index answers the question "How's the Market?" by measuring the current rate of sale versus the amount of the inventory. Index above 30 implies Seller's Market conditions. Below 30, conditions favor the buyer.

PRINCIPAL Pamela Van Der Wolf GRADES SERVED K-5
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Community Members, This annual report card issued by the Oregon Department of Education includes several elements that contribute to a full picture of our school. It describes the diversity of our student body, our enrollment trend and our average class size. It also explains how our students are performing in comparison to other schools and whether our students are making sufficient progress over time. Finally, the report card describes the academic program at our school. The academic achievement presented in this report is based on the Smarter Balanced Assessments. The tests assess student learning on the Common Core standards that have been adopted in Oregon. The Common Core standards are more rigorous than prior standards. This change means Smarter Balanced tests are harder than tests used in the past. When the bar is raised, it is common for the percent of proficient students to appear to fall when compared to earlier used assessments like
OAKS. With time and support, students can and will meet this higher bar and be better prepared. Due to ongoing changes in federal accountability rules, the Oregon Department of Education is not providing overall ratings on the report card this year. The state uses this report card to focus its support for schools and to inform education policy. I use it as a key guide for understanding our school’s strengths and also the areas where we need to improve. I welcome your questions and comments about our report card and also your involvement in how we can make our school even stronger. Thank you, Principal

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Community Members,
Academy classes to support students in grades 6-8 in the areas of writing, math and reading. These students will be closely monitored to ensure they are making progress with appropriate interventions along the way.
This annual report card issued by the Oregon Department of Education includes several elements that contribute to a full picture of our school. It describes the diversity of our student body, our enrollment trend and our average class size. It also explains how our students are performing in comparison to other schools and whether our students are making sufficient progress over time. Finally, the report card describes the academic program at our school.
The second is the addition of AVID to our elective schedule. AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. This elective provides support for those students who are college bound but need support and skill development to make that a reality. AVID prepares students for high school, college and career. During the 2017/18 school year we will be working as a faculty to implement AVID strategies and supports across the curriculum to build academic and organizational skills, as well as habits of mind, for all of our student.
The academic achievement presented in this report is based on the Smarter Balanced Assessments. The tests assess student learning on the Common Core standards that have been adopted in Oregon. The Common Core standards are more rigorous than prior standards. The state uses this report card to focus its support for schools and to inform education policy. I use it as a key guide for understanding our school’s strengths and also the areas where we need to improve.
I welcome your questions and comments about our report card and also your involvement in how we can make our school even stronger.
This year we will continue to implement a two pronged approach to assist students in their academic success at West Sylvan. The first is the incorporation of Academic

FROM THE PRINCIPAL Dear Parents and Community Members,
Lincoln is an International Baccalaureate school community whose mission is to grow inspired global thinkers who will work to create a more just and equitable world. This year’s report card reflects Lincoln’s continuing dedication to excellence and our commitment to the success of all students. The class of 2017 achieved an all- time high graduation rate of 93.7%. Furthermore, our persistent efforts to narrow the achievement gaps experienced by historically underserved and/or disadvantaged students groups within our school community are working. Graduation rates for African American students were at 88.2%, Latino students at 83.9%, and multi-racial at 94.7%. The Graduation rate of Economically Disadvantaged students remains well above the state average at 82.9% and Students with Disabilities reached an all time graduation rate high of 89.7%. In addition, Latino, African American and English Language Learners all had a completion rate of 100%. Lincoln administrators and staff value diversity and are deeply committed to providing the training, resources and programs necessary to enable all students to thrive at our school and prepare for the future.
When the bar is raised, it is common for the percent of proficient students to appear to fall when compared to earlier used assessments like OAKS. We welcome your questions and comments about our report card and also your involvement in how we can make our school even stronger. Thank you, Principal
