Teachers will be using and displaying lesson objectives to guide instruction. 4. We are an AVID Elementary school and therefore, we will fully implement our AVID strategies for the year. Including a number of College and Career Awareness efforts.
The Oregon Department of Education is partnering with school districts and local communities to ensure a 90% ontime, four year graduation rate by 2025. To progress toward this goal, the state will prioritize efforts to improve attendance, provide a well-rounded education, invest in implementing culturally responsive practices, and promote continuous improvement to close opportunity and achievement gaps for historically and currently underserved students.
We utilize a number of resources to support students, families and staff to create a welcoming and safe environment. We teach Social and Emotional curriculum, called Second Step, which includes child protection and empathy. We celebrate Virtues every day which includes a student made video and discussions about how to live by our virtues. We support students with a wide variety of supports, both from our school and the community if needed. We practice safety drills monthly and take a number of precautions to secure our building. We have skilled employees that monitor student behavior in all settings throughout the school.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Cascades has no tolerance for bullying and harassment. We teach students how to be empathetic and respond to bullying through our Second Step program. We require all students and parents to read the handbook that defines bullying, and provides strategies on how to communicate with all stakeholders if bullying is occurring. We teach Kelso's Choice, a problemsolving program to empower students. All staff are trained on how to recognize harassment and bullying. Our handbook states: 1. First, ask the student to stop and tell them that you do not like what they did.
In order to support the "whole" child Cascades offers a wide variety of options for students to develop their skills. For example:
Cascades offers a number of opportunities and strategies to involve families in their student's educational experience. · Parent-teacher organization that meets monthly. They provide a number of activities and fundraising to support the school.
Cascades makes every effort on involve our greater community. We want to include our local agencies and businesses in as many ways as we can throughout the school year. Some examples are: · Partnership with the Foster Grandparent program
· A volunteer system that empowers parents and other relatives and friends to support students.
· Relationship with Live, Longer Lebanon and Safe schools
2. If it happens again, ask the student to stop and state that you do not like what they did. Warn them you will tell an adult. 3. If the problem still does not go away, seek help from an adult.

State Goals
Safe & Welcoming Environment
With a positive school climate as our foundation, we will empower a culture of student learning, growth and achievement through rigorous instruction, multiple forms of assessment, a tiered-level of supports and PBIS strategies. This year we have also developed our middle school indicators for success to ensure that our students are prepared and ready for high school and beyond.
At Seven Oak, several steps have been taken to promote a welcoming environment: a professional office staff, including a bilingual support person, ready to serve all of our students and families; clear signage directing visitors to the correct locations; clear student behavior expectations posted throughout the school; and regular communication of all important information through our school’s website, Facebook page, email, voice and text message - all of which is translated for easy access.

School Goals
State Goals
Safe & Welcoming Environment
Lebanon HS increased its graduation rate to an 80% mark which boosts LHS over the state average. Our area for growth centers around student achievement. We want to coordinate efforts with staff, students and parents to increase our achievement on course success and state tests that predict a student's college and career readiness. After one year of implementing our "A" team which focuses on improving attendance, our rate improved 2%. We ask our parents and students to help support consistent attendance throughout the year because studies indicate that students who attend regularly are 172% more likely to graduate on time.
Our school strives to make all students and their families feel welcome by improving the culture of support for all. We continue to implement PBIS practices to achieve a positive and safe school environment. We have a comprehensive counseling program which includes a school counselor for each grade level and an on-site social worker. We have also developed a partnership with Linn County Mental Health to serve students and their families.
