FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Community Members, I am pleased to share our annual report card issued by the Oregon Department of Education. The report card continues to evolve now that we have two years of Smarter Balanced assessment data and new federal legislation around school accountability. This year's report card does not include overall school ratings but does include performance indicators for achievement. At Hallinan we are proud to continue a tradition of academic excellence and enrichment activities that create a rich experience for our students. This year, we will continue our work in Professional Learning Communities to tailor our instruction to

meet the needs of our students and ensure academic growth for all. We pride ourselves on collaboration across grade levels that actively pursues innovation in instruction and assessment practices. Next year we will construct an outdoor classroom designed entirely by parents and community members that will sit next to our beautiful school garden, extending our ability to teach about farm to table practices and sustainability. We value the role that our families and community play in our students’ development. We welcome your partnership! Thank you, Principal | Alix Pickett

Our mission is to be a nurturing and safe learning community that embraces the uniqueness of middle school and challenges everyone to become thoughtful and respectful learners and citizens. The support of our parents and community is

instrumental to our students’ success, and we look forward to partnering with you again this year. Thank you, Principal | Kurt Schultz
