PRINCIPAL Brian Curl GRADES SERVED K-5

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Community Members, WE are committed to regular communication with parents and the community about our school. Toward that goal, here is our school report card, produced by the Oregon Department of Education. Teachers assess student achievement of standards through frequent classroom assignments. State test results are also an important part of our assessment system. Although not as frequent as classroom assessment, state test results provide important feedback to help address learning gaps early and better prepare students for success. I am proud to report our school met overall participation targets in English Language

Arts and Mathematics. Thank you students and parents for your participation and support! Please turn the page to see how our students are doing on state tests, programs and experiences available to our students, and student survey data. To see the strategies we are implementing this year to improve student achievement, please review our WE book posted on our home page. Thank you, Principal

FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Community Members, WE are committed to regular communication with parents and the community about our school. Toward that goal, here is our school report card, produced by the Oregon Department of Education. Teachers assess student achievement of standards through frequent classroom assessments. State test results are also an important part of our assessment system. Although not as frequent as classroom assessment, state test results provide important feedback to help address learning gaps early and better prepare students for success. I am proud to report our school met overall participation targets in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Thank you students and parents for your participation and support!

Please turn the page to see how our students are doing on state tests, programs and experiences available to our students, and student survey data. To see the strategies we are implementing this year to improve student achievement, please review our WE book posted on our home page. Class size note: In our school, English and social studies are taught in a combined humanities course. Although not shown, median class sizes for humanities classes are similar to the class sizes for mathematics and science classes reported below. Median class sizes reported for English are primarily for a small number of intervention classes. Thank you, Principal

With the help of our parents and students, we hope to improve our participation rates this year. State tests are one way for student to demonstrate the essential skills of reading, writing, and mathematics required for graduation. In addition,

Oregon’s public colleges and universities will waive additional placement testing for entering students if they score a 3 or higher on Smarter Balanced tests and meet requirements for continued academic rigor during grade 12. Please turn the page to see how our students are doing on state tests and high school completion rates, programs and experiences available to our students, and student survey data. Unmarried partner households are usually classified as nonfamily households unless there is another member of the household related to the householder. Multigenerational and unmarried partner households are reported only to the tract level. Esri estimated block group data, which is used to estimate polygons or non-standard geography. Average family size excludes nonrelatives. Source: U.S. Census Bureau, Census 2010 Summary File 1.
