FANCIFUL TEAM’S LETTERS AISHA
JANJUA
As a 16-year-old living in the UK, with a love for comedy sketches, vlogs and animals, I discovered I had become a professional fangirl and very much attached to the world of YouTube. I have been watching various youtubers over the years and loved the idea of a normal person behind a camera reaching out to hundreds, then thousands, and eventually millions of people. I loved how everyone had a different style on their channels and how friendly the community was. One video led to the other. Eventually, Bianca reached out to me and invited me start writing for the YouTube section. This has been an amazing opportunity for me to put my YouTube knowledge to good use and produce weekly fact-files for the magazine. Have fun checking them out!
SOFIA ALESSANDRO
I was starting to write myself, tiny posts. I PATRICIA used to write as a hobby. When Bianca NEVADO asked me to be part of the team, ‘TALK’ Hey everyone, I’m a 20-year-old Spanish would have been my selection, I didn’t hesitate a second. Philology student. Giving advices is one of my favourite things to do and be able to give them to people who need it, trust me, it’s very pleasant.
Starting to write at Fanciful Magazine was a very important fact in my life, because it made me start writing seriously, and it was a big step, as it’s related to my degree. My section, which is music, it’s so pleasant because I’m a music lover. Thanks for keep reading, guys.

TWILA MARIE BERGANIA
When I first created Fanciful Magazine, was only a blog where I would write articles to practice, as I am a journalism student. Things got so much more serious very quickly, and I decided to make it a prop magazine. Write about, not only the celebrities we already know, but also, to find interesting people out there. I will never be thankful enough to the amazing people I have writing on this magazine and all the support we get.
I am a blogger, professional fangirl, YouTuber fangirl and a digital extrovert based in Manila, Philippines. Yep, a bit far away, but I’m ready for everything! When I’m not too busy stalking people on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, I’m lurking in local coffee shops, drowning my hyperacidity with friends and paperback novels! And now, part of the Fanciful Team

These are the colder months, what could be better than something that keeps you warm while you're walking down the cold streets?
We also have cape (right side), so here we have two choices, the first one, a cozy camel parka, and a nice cape!
High Wasted Shorts. My favourite of all the time, these won't let you down, if you have Naomi Campbell's body or not this will make your body the sexiest ever, plenty are the ways to wear them and plenty could be the combinations. Just pick out your favourite ones! 8

STREET STYLE Walking around the beautiful town of Brighton, we thought we could share a couple of our outfits, just in case you might need a little help when trying to find something to wear. The best advice you will ever get is: you should make sure you are wearing something confortable. Cold or uncomfortable outfits just to look good are a bit silly. LANA DEL REY MAKES THE SOUNDTRACK OF THE MOVIE “BIG EYES” Lately Lana Del Rey has been disappeared from the music scene. But luckily for her fans, she has become part of the soundtrack of the film directed by Tim Burton Big Eyes. In this movie, we can see the true story that lived the painter Margaret Keane in the 50's, who painted characters with big eyes, which later took her to have legal problems with her husband, Walter Keane, due to the award of the authorship of such works. For this film, Lana made two songs, I Can Fly and Big Eyes. This last one, has been nominated to “Best Original Song” by the Academy Awards, “Best Song” for the Critics’ choice movie awards and “Best Original Song” for the Golden Globes.
TANYA BURR ACCUSED OF PLAGIARIZING “IF I STAY MOVIE POSTER FOR HER BOOK COVER Tanya Burr is set to release her first ever book on Thursday 29th January, called 'Love Tanya'. On 29th December Tanya released her book cover for 'Love Tanya' and wrote a blog post about her book cover. She wrote "I'm so happy with the cover. I designed it using a website called PicMonkey, (to make all the squares and choose the photos I wanted in them) as I am no graphic designer and even if I had photoshop, I wouldn't know how to use it haha. Then, the design team at Penguin were amazing and helped my amateur designs come to life and look all professional and stuff!" Tanya asked her fans for honest opinions on her book cover and to comment on her blog post what they thought of it. But later after she posted the cover fans were saying it reminded them of 'If I Stay' movie poster and some believed she copied the movie poster. People commented: “Tanya Burr has basically copied the If I Stay movie poster for her book cover” 12

ANGELINA JOLIE & BRAD PITT’S DAUGHTER WANTS TO BE CALLED “JOHN” Of course, many girls and boys share the same taste in clothes, toys or games, but the eight-year-old Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the oldest biological daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is making very clear what she likes, and how she now wants to be called John. When her parents refer to her as Shiloh, she would interrupt them and say "I'm John", as Brad Pitt said on a interview recently. So following her wish, her family now calls her by the name of John. Back in 2010, Angelina Jolie told Vanity Fair that her four-year-old girl wanted to be a boy. "She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she is one of the brothers." Pitt recently attended to the premiere of Unbroken in Los Angeles with three of his children, Pax, Maddox and John, all dressed up with suits and ties. Jolie and Pitt support completely support their child. Its said that children constantly expressing their desire in being part of the opposite gender, would grow up to be a transgender or a gender-nonconforming. More and more kids are coming out as transgender and at a really early age. Dr. Johanna Olson, specialist in trans youth health care, said on an interview with the CBS, that we had around 330% of increase of youth trans over 2013. But, it’s natural for kids to explore genders. 13 Fanciful Magazine
Cereal killer cafe Cereal Killer Café has opened their doors at the end of 2014. As the name says, it’s quite obvious what kind of food you will find in this place. There is nowhere else that I know, where you can go and only have cereal. The place is owned by twin, “hipsters” as said an article in The Guardian, brothers and cereal obsessed Alan and Gary Kerry. Their café sells 120 different types of cereal, including not only British cereal, but also American cereal. You might be thinking, why on earth would go down to this place to have a bowl of cereal? Well, is not every day that you can find place like Cereal Killer Café.

They can also offer you a big variety of toppings and milk. 30 different types of milk and 20 toppings, all for you to choose. This is probably one of the most original and fun places to eat in London. Even more, if you are a 90s kid. The owners thought it would be a good idea to have the place decorated with everything from the 90s to bring you back to you childhood. From TVs and comics, to bottles and obviously, cereal. You can visit Cereal Killer Café everyday from 7AM to 10PM, in case you fancy a night bowl of cereal. Find them here 139 Brick Lane, London E1 6SB cerealkillercafe.co.uk/

Mary Desmond Interview by Bianca Dubois
16
Fanciful Magazine
Give
us a little introduction about yourself,
your age, what do you do, where are you from,…? MD: I'm Mary Desmond! I'm 16 years old and I love to sing and perform. I'm from Mission Viejo, California and I have been living in the same place for my whole life. I love writing songs and singing songs! Music is my favourite. Did anything inspire you to get into music? MD: Well, what made me first love music was my favourite movie "The Little Mermaid". I would watch it on repeat to learn the song "Part of your world". Ever since then, yes I was very young, but regardless that is where my inspiration to do music started. What made you start YouTube? MD:What made me start YouTube is the want to show people all over my voice. I love YouTube because it is so convenient for everyone and it has definitely helped me broaden my fan base! Music comes along many responsibilities, what is the best and the worst of being a singer? MD: The best part for me is singing a song that you just totally are crazy about. It is so much fun to try new things in a song and sing your heart out. The worst part about being a singer is when you lose your voice. Losing my voice is not a major problem for me, but it still happens. Losing your voice is hard because you can’t really do what you love.
What do your parents think about you getting into music? MD: My parents are the most supportive people ever. Without them, I would not be where I am today! I love them so much! How much has your life changed since you are a singer? MD: Because I have been singing for a very long time, I can't name any major changes. I think the only thing is that my schedule is always busy, but I love it! Do you have a favourite singer or band? MD: My favorite singer is Taylor Swift! I love her music, her sense of style, and I really would love to meet her one day. What was the best moment of your music career? MD: A major super happy moment for me in my music career was when I hit 1 million hits on one of my videos. I still feel so blessed that I got to share my music with that many people! What kinds of projects have you been doing? MD: I have been working on an EP of all originals that is going to be released later this year. I'm super excited to share my originals with everyone! I am also going on a tour in the UK. And I'm going to be apart a movie that is filming this year too! 2015 is going to be great! When can we expect your next album? MD: My next album is going to be coming out in the spring! I've been working really hard on it and I can't wait for it to be released! 17

#TALK
Don't you think we are overwhelmed by stereotypes? It's like society makes us think we need someone to follow as an example, and if you're not like the rest of the world you're not worth it, this is really sad. Why do we have to complicate our lives when we should LIVE like there is no tomorrow everyday? I see all of these girls and boys that try their best to look like models, fashion bloggers and so many others but this is not really the point, the thing is that this will lead to eating disorders, lose weight and get skinnier and sick. This is not healthy at all. Also see boys and girls deny their feelings because of a bad judgment of themselves from bad people, to love someone of the same gender is not illness.
A society to be healthy and good needs both healthy and good people. How can this be possible? We have to be ourselves, no matter what, we have to and that's all. Take your time coming home and think about how beautiful life is and how much you worth it, scream it, believe it and make it real. Dress up like you've always wanted and don't care about judgements, you like it and that's all that matters. Go tell your loves of the same gender that your love for them is unconditional and that you don't care about bad people saying horrible things and promise that you won't let them say it again. Do things the way you want to and don't let people drag you away, don't get in trouble because of them, think with your brain and take your responsibilities.

When it comes to our friends we’ve always had the right words to give them advices about their broken hearts and how to deal with it. But why when it comes to us, when we are looking for something, for the right words, for the best decision, it seems like the whole world doesn't have the answer we expected and everyone talks about nothing. How many of us are in love with someone? How many let someone break our hearts? When that guy or that girl decides to go away, how many of us fall apart and everything we wonder is: am I good enough? What went wrong? Why me? Am I worth it? Those are the questions we make. Speaking of this I think we are all a bit masochists, it’s kind of we like being sad for love issues and it’s like we are always in search for the perfect boyfriend or girlfriend. Now I have a question. How many of us can really love? We act like we know everything about love, about how to love someone and stuff and maybe we have never wondered ourselves if we are willing to give our lives to someone we call love.
I think love can’t be defined in any way, no one knows what love really is, they define it with that sensation we feel through our belly when we see the person we really like, I think it’s not. I think love is more than this, love is when we make that choice to give everything to a person that can be anyone, it doesn’t have to be the person we will share our life with, it can be our mother, our father, our brothers, our sisters, that guy or that girl back in high school, the one we knew in college and even the random guy we met in a coffee shop. The thing is, if we really love someone and we feel loved the same, we are in. So no rush on finding the perfect person because, it will come to us at the right time, no more tears because of your break up, that one never loved you the way you deserved and it will be hard but we have to keep our head up in our life and go on, and do our best. No one can break us.

We are bringing up on Fanciful Magazine a very important article. This time, we are featuring the Cybersmile Foundation. This is one of those things that definitely deserve more attention, and here at Fanciful, we want to help on that. We have many good things out there, but not always everything goes well online, and Cybersmile’s main goal is to make sure people are happy again.
We all make mistakes through our lives, is part of growing up, but sometimes you are way too afraid of being judged by something you have done, that you decide to hide and suffer in silence. This is definitely not the right choice. You must speak to someone and ask for help to make things better, and that is the amazing job that cybersmile does. They help and support cyber bullying victims and their families.
“People get hurt, the only thing we can do is be there for each other when they do fall down and pick each other up. “ – Trust.
If you have never heard about Cybersmile, we are gladly going to introduce it to you. Cybersmiler is a multi award winning charity that fights against the cyber bullying. We all have read before horrible stories about cyber bullying. Many children and teens suffer this without knowing why. Perhaps, at some point in our lives we do something really stupid that could end up following us for a long time, or forever.
This might seems impossible for you, but it could happen to anyone. Please, be safe online, and do check Cybersmile’s work. They are amazing people, doing an amazing job.

THROUGH THE MAKING OF BIG HERO 6
Big Hero 6 is an animated Disney movie coming out at the beginning of 2015. Until then, you can go with us on this little presentation of the movie, that took place back in September in London with the movie producer Roy Conli. He took all the invited audience through the making of the movie and showed us some very exclusive footage that Disney has been working on with the objective of improving their film making skills. This movie takes place in San Fransokyo (fusion of San Francisco and Tokyo). Is a fictional metropolis where all the action happens. Hiro Hamada, a robotic genius teen, finds out his creation, the microbots, were all stolen by a mysterious villian, and the crime was covered under a fire in the Technologic Institute where the microbots were. Hiro, with his robot Baymax and his new friends, team up to try to catch whoever is behind this villainous plot and disclose their plans.
Roy Conli took all of us through the process of creating this amazing Dinsey animation and told us how long he took to get the work done. All the researches they had to do for the movie took quite a long time and money. They actually travelled all the way to Tokyo to get as much information as possible for the development of the story. There, by a Japanese scientist, they got inspired to make Baymax, Hiro's robot. The Japanese scientist was actually working on a robot arm quite similar to Bayamax, so after some investigation and getting the information the filmmakers needed; they then created a robot for the movie. The movie is being released on the 30th of January in the UK cinemas, but only a month before the movie coming out, big news exploded the internet, getting people even more excited to watch it. YouTube star and radio presenter Phil Lester, aka AmazingPhil, revealed on his video “I’m in a movie!” that Disney invited him and his Youtube friend and also radio presenter Dan Howell aka danisnotonfire to be part of the movie. 32

“I guess I decided to start making YouTube videos because I had an interest for the YouTube community and concept and what it involved.”
One
OF THE MOST AMAZING
YOUTUBERS OUT THERE has landed on our very first issue. There is no way of us passing by such an amazing and creative human that is the young Darcy Cole. We have to go through YouTube star Darcy, who is a 16-year-old British vlogger on YouTube. Back in 2012, she decided to start her own channel after watching other vloggers, and also, following the steps of her older brother Louis Cole, who has now achieved the amazing amount of one million subscribers on his YouTube channel. Darcy also has many stories and talent to share with the world. She currently lives in South London and is in her last year of school, but aspire to start Music Production in college. Having a little chat with her, she shared quite a lot about herself. Cole is still not sure what her channel is really about other than herself and her interests. Darcy’s channel has a range from vlogs, to tutorials, to sketches, to her acapella-style music videos.
“That’s something I’m yet to still try to figure out hence why I have no channel trailer haha” she says when talking about her channel. Going into detail of her reasons to start her own YouTube channel, was a push of her interest for the YouTube community. “I guess I decided to start making YouTube videos because I had an interest for the YouTube community and concept and what it involved, which I was beginning to be surrounded by anyway through my older brother and his channel. I saw all the opportunities and possibilities it opened up for him and how exciting as well as successful life could be just by being yourself through the platform.” Having a little chat with Darcy, we have not only found out the reason behind her YouTube channel or what is her content about, but much more. She has grown her audience very quickly, in a really short time, reaching over 29K subscribers and it only keeps growing. >> 40

Youtube is also a big thing for the rest of her family. When going through their thoughts on Darcy starting her channel and uploading videos, they were completely fine with it. Her family has now joined the crew and are all youtubers. All dragged by Louis and Darcy. Since the very beginning of their YouTube channel, her family has been very supportive, and now with each other as well as they are all on YouTube. In terms of friends, “they really build you up too as they can appreciate the whole person they know as well as the partial part you put on show for others to see! 42
YouTube has brought together so many people through the videos, building many friendships, and Darcy would include herself in this. Seeing someone on your screen, and then having them in person is one of the awesome experiences the YouTube community has done and the reason why so many kids and teens now join the platform. Or, also getting inspired by other bigger youtubers to make their own content. >>

Talking about inspiration, Darcy has also something to say about it. Her friends are very into YouTube and make videos as well, but she can decide who is her favourite one. There are so many youtubers out there, making a huge variety of content that she can’t pick just one as her all time favourite. She goes through many different channels, watching videos and the only the only clear idea this gives to her is she will end up subscribed to a bunch of people. And this will repeat over and over again. Depends on what kind of content people make to catch her attention. Cole has also upload a capella videos, as previously mentioned. She told us how much effort she puts this videos. “It honestly depends, but for the past two it’s been 4 hours to record and roughly the same about of time to film & edit them!” she says.>>

A lot of changes have come along Cole’s YouTube career. Before getting herself out there, she didn’t feel like she had many people around her, but since she is making videos, she has not stopped making friends through the internet. Although, most of them were made at YouTube conventions, getting to know them in person. “It has also opened many doors for my future and has given me so many great experiences and I’m sure will continue to do so!” she then adds. To finish Darcy has a little advice for those who want to start YouTube. “Don’t hold back, it’s better to learn from mistakes sooner than later (which i can almost guarantee will happen) be yourself. Also do what makes you happy, and not just what you think you should be doing, then your videos will more likely be successful as they develop over time! How long have you been modelling for? Do you see any difference between the first jobs you got to the jobs you get now? CB: More than many of the girls in the industry now, even if I'm still young, I started at a really young age! I absolutely see a difference, when you start you normally do small jobs for local clients, and now I'm working all over the world and I have agencies in so many places! I'm really satisfied. Do you have to stick to any diet or have an exercise routine? CB: Not really, there was a time back to a couple of years I used to do exercise almost every day. Now, I got a bit lazy on doing sports. I feel really guilty haha. If you were not a model, what would you like to be doing? First of all, thanks very much for letting us interview you! What are your origins and how did CB: Actress, singer... and something more realistic: booker. I wouldn't mind at all to work you get into modelling? in the other side of the industry. CB: The only bad thing I would say its to be far from the people you love. It is a lonely world sometimes and you have to make sure you stay strong, because you will not have fun every day and it's really hard when you're down or you had a bad day and you don’t have your family, friends, or boyfriend close to you. Do you have a favourite clothing brand, fashion designer and make up brand? CB: I do LOVE Balenciaga. If I was rich I would have my whole closet full of Balenciaga clothes, shoes, and bags. As a designer... I'd say Alexander McQueen. His collections were, and they will still be, pure art. But sadly it won't be the same since he's gone... And make up brand... I love all MAC products... excepting face foundations. I think I like a few things from a few different makeup brands, but none is 100% perfect to me. What is the best advice you've ever received? CB: Never forget your place of origin. That's the first advice my mom gave me when I started travelling. Is there anything you're still want to archive? Any objective in your career? CB: I want to be happy and have my own place in the centre of Madrid with my boyfriend. I want to feel plenty satisfied with myself, and that's my biggest goal to reach in life. Being happy. As a last question, what is your advice for the people now trying to become a model? CB: Even if is not how people from the outside think it is, fight for it. You are the only one who can't stop to get what you want and that experience is unforgettable.
