The Ark of Seed Service Design, Environment, Sustainability
The project started from "5% Design Action: From Farm to Fork workshop". The service target is Shin Chien village in Yilan, Taiwan which mainly produce organic rice. In the "Seed Ark", we are able to provide visitors with a better understanding of organic agriculture by a strong contrast and experience of five senses and experiences. So that organic seeds thrive in their hearts,
Designer Fang-Shiuan Chang Ting-Yang Chou Wei-Teng Lin I-Ning Chen Tse-Chia Huang
and finally spread to more people, to make them become part of the organic.

Challenges of Taiwanese argirculture Imbalance Industry The income can not reflect to the investment effort. In 2011, Taiwan's agricultural population is nearly 3 million, accounting for 12% of the total population, but in contrast to the agricultural output is only 1.75% of GDP.
The Aging of Farmers According to the 2012 statistical average of 63 years old. Less young people reluctance into agriculture.
Low Self-Sufficiency rate Domestic food self-sufficiency rate of 33.3%. Howerver, eating habbit westernized caused the wheat self-sufficiency rate of less than 0.1%. weat 0.1%
Lack of cultivated area Small-scale land of independent farmers lack of economies of scale. The average cultivated area of Taiwanese farmers is 1.1 hectares, which is 1/20 of that of Italy and 1/200 of that of the United States.

A mobile exhibition is planned to include comparisons between conventional and organic farming, illustrations, and blindfolded taste experience. Composing all elements into the truck, the exhibition will actively drive into the social circle of passive audiences. By the mobile exhibition, we aim to implant the “seed of organic lifestyle” into the mind of audiences, and the “seed” will eventually spread widely.

Taste Experience
The exhibition trucks consist of four parts: Conventional Farming Display, Organic Farming Display, From Farm to Fork, and Blindfolded Taste Experience. The audiences will learn about organic farming thoughtout this sequence. Films will be played in Conventional Farming Display and Organic Farming Display section in order to compare the difference between these two farming methods. The audiences will set their perspective as a crop, explore through sight and hearing, and eventually observe the aftermath of using pesticides to animals and plants.
Appearence In order to attract attention, the truck is specially furnished with plywood with our logo printed on. The last area will trigger the curiousity from audiences by dispalying only parts of the exhibition via transparent glass.
A1: Conventional Farming Display At the beginning of the film is the scenery of a vibrant farmland still with insects and weeds. As long as the farmer starts to use pesticides and herbicides, insects and weeds are terminated from the farmland. Infertile land for any kind of crop is the aftermath of using pesticides.
A2: Organic Farming Display A farmland without any cultivation. Instead of using chemical pesticides, farmers pull off weeds by hand. Organic farming becomes a substitution method. The farmland gradually becomes prosperous. The pleasant music from various kinds of insects and birds chirping can be heard.

B1: From Farm to Fork Using infographic, From Farm to Fork compares the difference of environment, safety, nutrition, economics, and taste between organic and conventional farming practice, It aims to make the audiences realize how much change it will bring if they choose a different consuming mode. This area will also play videos of interviews of organic farmers and consumers sharing why do they want to support organic product and how do they take action.
B2: Blindfolded Taste Experience Last, the Blindfolded Taste Experience invites audiences to taste and compare the rice from organic and conventional farming. The purpose of blindfolding is to make audiences more concentrate on the sense of “taste. We also provide information of surrounding organic stores for audiences who want to take action to support organic methods immediately. A message board is installed for receiving feedbacks from audiences and future adjustments can be more accordingly.

Bake you a happy life!
Aimed at beginners of dessert making, we considered their playful spirits that love to try new things and their needs and don’t. When we transfer the fresh atmosphere and happy feelings of their experience process to practical tools, what kind of new sensations can we bring to people? The dessert pack packaged in blister includes the tools of minimum needs, simple recipes and molds; the material used to package is the tool, and the back cards are the recipes. As common vocabulary can be found on individual tools, and tools can be collected in complete sets as light tools for dessert making, users are able to make small and delicate desserts without the pressure of having to use professional tools.
F lo w 1. Open the package > To make whole process easier, the recipe is also part of package and it can be collected as a booklet. 2. Take the tools out of package > Because the user of these tools are for beginners, which they would not be used often, so that storing the product became the main focus. 3. Read the recipe and check tools and materials Relaxation is essential to achieving success. People relax in different ways, some grow plants, some play with pets and some enjoys making pastries. At first the process may not seem as much, in fact, nowadays many people are only novice at relaxing and are pleased to learn even

Brownie : The sweetness and luxury Brownie creates The idea is originated from embracing the deliciousness of brownies. To interpret it with the graceful rectangular pattern, it offers the audience a special feeling. I hope to create cozy yet elegant impression, contrasting brownies’ simple and dull outlook. With a more soft silver champagne color to match the refreshing mint green, it creates fresh atmosphere that complements brownies’ sweetness and richness. Brownie is the friendly genie and the naughty boy in the fable of Scotland. He gets along with people harmoniously and assists people with their chores without expecting anything back. Once he completes the tasks, he vanishes permanently.

The flowers blossom from the butter icing, carrying the leaves that supplement the flowers. With both images of flower and leaves, turn tools into leaves, presenting the soft and beautiful lines. On the tip of the growth, it extends out to become a complete tool. A string of lightness come out of hundreds of flowers. Cooked or not? Visual and Exhibition Design, Photography
"Cooked or not?", it was the theme of the semester exhibition for product design course in June, 2010. In this exhibition, we would like to present ourselves as well-cooked designers, which were like mid rare eggs. This status of eggs, many asian people think it's more tasty than the fully cooked egg. We observed ourselves by those familiar tools in our school lives. And it became to this visual design of " Cooked or Not? "

“:ParanoID is a bilingual year book of class 2012, Shih-Chien University, Industrial Design Dept. It was the 20th anniversary of the department as well so this publication includes not only the works of the graduation class but also the history of the department, such as design awards and international workshops.

“Paranoid” means doing a particular thing repeatedly. “ID” is the abbreviation of “industrial design.” And the mischievous emoticon “:P” shows enjoyment and craziness out of our conscientious paranoia.
A large numbers of elements by hand drawing and crafting could be found in the book. The crafts indicates the designers’ insistence of designing into the smallest details from concept forming to the final model making. On the other hand, many delicate lines are used to make the department’s history more classic and exquisite. There are pages of hitorical events including Design Award & Honors, International Workshop, International Exhibition, Joint Project, International Internship, and Design Events. These pages are under simple and concise layout.
