Welcome from the Chairs Will Warriner

Chairman of FanimeCon 2016 Welcome everyone to FanimeCon 2016. FanimeCon is celebrating our 22nd year, and looking across the convention center, it’s hard to imagine its humble beginnings. FanimeCon has always been By Fans, For Fans; and while the Fans have changed and evolved, so has FanimeCon. Our goal is to continue to grow and adapt along with the Fans who have made FanimeCon what it is today. During my 18 years volunteering for FanimeCon, I have seen many evolutions. I remember our first MusicFest (called Gakufest at the time). I remember Der Cosplay, Our First Arcade and E-gaming areas. I recall the excitement when we brought in the Sushi guy, and the emptiness of the “high school dance.” I remember that not all of our ideas were as loved as the Black and White Ball or Stage Zero. For each terrible idea, we’ve had a great idea; What makes us who we are is our commitment to keep trying.

This year we have experienced many changes. They say once you hit 21, it’s all downhill from there; For us, this year was a time for us to reach out and explore new ideas and revitalize old ones. We looked at some of the major issues and concerns of our modern world, and set in motion programs that will keep FanimeCon safe and fun for years to come. We hope that we can all continue to evolve together, and keep making FanimeCon a Safe Haven for years to come.

This year’s theme is Martial Arts and we’re showing our fighting spirit as we continue to endeavor to develop an experience that we hope remains close to your hearts and forever in your joyful memories. This is my second year as part of your Chair Team and I’ve spent hours further honing my skills and developing my talents (no waterfalls or jump-squats were involved). But as with any who have taken the path of learning the Way of The Con, we never cease to remain as students. We continue to learn and

to adapt with each passing season, taking on new challengers that result in failures that we can grow from and successes we can build upon. And for this year I couldn’t be prouder. It continues to amaze me how our exceptional staff and you, our wonderful members, come together in what feels like such a fleeting weekend each year in our passionate battle for fandom. And what is FanimeCon without fans? Each staff member is a complete volunteer, from the Chair Team down, making this a true “By Fans, For Fans” event, putting us all on the same great team. So, en garde, my friends. May you be triumphant not only in your ninja games, bushido matches and game tournaments but in whatever you do, here with our friends or elsewhere. (But please, no mock matches in the halls...thanks!)

Vice-Chair of FanimeCon 2016 FanimeCon MadLibs – I came to FanimeCon 2016 to have a great (noun). Each year, I look forward to hanging out with (name of friend) and checking out the (event/panel name). I will remember FanimeCon 2016 for (time duration) because of (notable event). Hi FanimeCon! This is Eric making another appearance in the program guide. Thanks for joining my fellow staffers and me for another year of awesome. Each member that joins us here in San Jose has their own unique story that plays out over the course of this extended weekend. But the FanimeCon members are not the only ones that walk away with a great story to tell; my fellow staffers and friends walk away each year with a collection of memorable moments that we love sharing. It is the opportunity to foster and be a part of stories like these that inspire the staff to put in the endless effort and long hours to set up each and every element of the con from the lanyard around your neck to the sound system at MusicFest that makes your bones shake. Thank you for this opportunity and we are looking forward to making this another memorable FanimeCon for all of us!

Vice-Chair of FanimeCon 2016 Hello FanimeCon 2016! My name is Claudia. I am the new vice-chair, aka baby chair, aka high chair. Before becoming vice-chair I previously worked in the Registration department and Fan Services division. I am excited to return to FanimeCon even after moving to Los Angeles. I think you can agree that there is simply no comparison to spending a long weekend with friends and family in the community that is FanimeCon. If you think about it, we are like a little city that pops up for a long weekend where we get to express ourselves in ways we wouldn’t be able to otherwise. It is therefore my hope that as vice-chair I can continue to grow our community in a safe and fun way. Safety has become a big trend for many anime conventions. We hope that the Convention Safety Initiative (CSI) we have implemented this year will help to maintain a safe environment for everyone. There are ways that you can help too. If at any time you are in an unsafe situation or see something wrong do not hesitate to talk to staff. You can even contact Rovers and Bobbies at the phone numbers on the back of your badges. We are here to help!

CSI: Convention Safety Initiative Over the years, FanimeCon has grown substantially from our small club roots to one of the largest Anime Cons in North America. Along the way, we’ve experienced growing pains like any other convention or event. The staff of FanimeCon has worked diligently to always provide a safe and welcoming environment for all of our members. So, in the interest of further promoting safety for the FanimeCon community, access to the second floor of the convention center will require a FanimeCon Badge. These traffic and access changes will be new to many of our members, but we kindly request your continued patience and heartedly welcome any and all feedback as we continue to develop and implement this initiative. Our primary goal has always been and will continue to be to facilitate as safe an environment as possible and with the CSI we hope to work towards continuing and improving on that mission. So, again, thank you all, and let’s have an amazing and safe con!

Da-iCE (pronounced “Dice”) consists of five members, each representing one side of a six-sided dice (their fans represent the sixth side). The intentional “a-i” in the band’s name means “love” in Japanese. Yudai, previously the lead vocalist of an a capella group; Sota, who was working as a solo vocalist; and Taiki, Toru, and Hayate, who were working as dancers, met in January of 2011 and started working together, seeking to establish a new style of vocal group. They hired famous dancers from Japan and other countries to help them, and focused on performing at a world-class level – doing over 100 live shows a year at venues as small as clubs and as large as stadiums. In 2012 they opened for their agency’s AAA tour to much acclaim, then received a flood of offers to perform

many large-scale music festivals, fashion events, and magazines. In December of the same year their first mini album “Da-iCE” achieved a ranking of 15 on the Oricon Daily Ranking Chart, and the song “Splash” from that album ranked 1st on the Recochoku Ringtone Daily Chart. Their first indie single “I’ll be back,” released on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, achieved a ranking of 14 on the Oricon Weekly Ranking Chart (and went as high as 12 on the Daily Ranking Chart).

Masaya Matsukaze Masaya Matsukaze is an actor and voice actor affiliated with Aoni Production. His acting career began in 1997 when he portrayed Mega Blue in the Super Sentai series Denji Sentai Megaranger. His voice acting credits include Kyoya Ootori (Ouran High School Host Club), Zoisite (Sailor Moon Crystal), Gaelio Bauduin (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans), Shin Hyuuga Shaingu (Code Geass: Akito the Exiled), Teru Mikami (DEATH NOTE), and Illumi Zoldyck (HUNTER x HUNTER). Game enthusiasts will recognize him as Ryo Hazuki in the Shenmue series, a role he will be reprising thanks to the success of the recent Kickstarter campaign. Mr. Matsukaze will also be starring as Yasuhiro Hagakure in the Danganronpa stage play later this year.

Cristina Vee Cristina Vee is a voice actress from Los Angeles, CA. Since getting her first large anime roles in 2007, Cristina has voiced over 100 characters in both animation and video games. Anime fans know her as Mio Akiyama in K-ON!, Alisa Bosconovitch in Tekken: Blood Vengeance, Homura Akemi in Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Morgiana in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, the eleven Honoka sisters in Netflix’s Knights of Sidonia, Killua Zoldyck in Hunter x Hunter, Fujiko Mine in Lupin III: Jigen’s Gravestone, Hawk in The Seven Deadly Sins, Kotori Minami in Love Live!, Izumi Shimomura in AJIN, and Riruka Dokugamine in Bleach. She is the new voice of Sailor Mars in her favorite show, Sailor Moon Crystal! She voices Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug in Nickelodeon’s Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She also makes appearances in Sword Art Online, Naruto, Kill la Kill, Fate/Zero, Doraemon, Accel World, and Squid Girl. Lisle Wilkerson Lisle Wilkerson grew up in Tokyo, Japan. She speaks fluent Japanese, and does voice work in both English and Japanese. Lisle is the powerhouse behind some of the gaming industry’s most popular female fighting characters, such as Nina Williams, Christie Monteiro, Sarah Bryant from Virtua Fighter, as well as Shenmue II. Last summer Lisle was involved in the Shenmue Kickstarter announced at E3, which broke many records, including a Guinness World Record. Most recently Lisle did dubbing for an upcoming ULTRAMAN film, as well as the animated film Eden. She also acted alongside Bill Murray in the Academy Award-winning Sofia Coppola film Lost In Translation, and had a lead role in the award winning indie film Kamataki. She not only does video game voices, but voices Batz Maru (of Hello Kitty) and does commercials for companies as such Nissan, Panasonic, Sony, etc. Lisle currently lives in Los Angeles, where she continues to do voice acting and works as an interpreter. Lisle has interpreted for everyone from Keanu Reeves to best-selling author Marie Kondo to various J-pop stars. She is also a local media correspondent for Japan, covering high-profile events like The Grammys, Academy Awards, Emmys, and Golden Globes. Lisle is currently the assistant producer of the upcoming film, Black Hat. She also has a popular podcast called “The (Mis)Adventures of the Blonde Geisha”. And when Lisle isn’t busy working or running around the country doing cons, you might find her in her pink boxing gloves trying to save the world Nina Williams-style, or spending her time at home with her adorable, jet-setting, bilingual cat Princess Genki.

Daisuke Sakaguchi Daisuke Sakaguchi is a voice actor affiliated with Aoni Production. Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Shinpachi Shimura in the Gintama series which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, Mr. Sakaguchi’s long list of credits also include Jacuzzi Splot (Baccano!), Xeno (World Trigger), Uso Ewin (Mobile Suit Victory Gundam), Satoshi Fukube (Hyouka), and Leonardo Watch in the recent hit Blood Blockade Battlefront. He is an animal lover and even holds a Level 3 Dinosaur Exam Certification from Animal Planet Japan.

Guests of Honor

Yoshihiro Watanabe Born in Niigata, Japan on July 4th, 1971, Yoshihiro Watanabe is an animation director, character designer, and mechanical designer. His character design credits include Haganai, Heaven’s Lost Property, and The Testament of Sister New Devil, all of which he also acted as chief animation director. Mr. Watanabe has provided mechanical designs for series such as Please Teacher!, DearS, Minami-ke, Silent Mobius, and many more. Mobile Suit Gundam and Transformers have been credited as his inspirations, and aside from anime, he has also provided R18 game illustrations under the name “Moo°C Dan” (pronounced “mood-dan”).

Aicosu Aicosu, the couple cosplay team of Sheila & Sylar, have been cosplaying collectively for eight years. With over 100 cosplays made and 50 conventions attended, they focus on bringing more than just cosplays to the community. They are wellknown for answering any and all questions to those beginning or even advanced in cosplay and hope to teach new things in their panels and programming. Aicosu can be found on the convention floors, at their workshops, or at their FanimeCon Artists Alley table and are always open to discussing everything from cosplay construction to which Dragon Age game was the best.

Sky Williams Sky Williams is a comedic entertainer and gamer on Twitch and YouTube, most known for his videos and commentary on League of Legends. He also streams, plays, and blogs about other games like the the Super Smash Bros. series, games that he loves, and other things going on around him. In addition to video blogging, Williams uses his comedic talents to do stand-up comedy and was a finalist in Flappers’ Uncle Clyde’s Comedy Contest.

Gilles Poitras Gilles was raised in the Northern Central Valley of California. As a child he played with Japanese wooden toys bought at the corner store, watched girls at school do origami, and played various games that none of the kids knew were from Japan. In high school he became a fan of world cinema, and when he was in college this led him to explore what little was known in English about anime. One day in 1990 he received a phone call from a friend who had discovered a new student club at U.C. Berkeley, Cal Animage Alpha, devoted to anime. For years he regularly attended and became completely hooked on anime and manga. He has written three books on anime: The Anime Companion, Anime Essentials and The Anime Companion 2. He has also written for NewType USA and Otaku USA. Gilles also sat on the senior board of Mechademia. Over the years he has done presentations on anime for various Japan-US friendship groups, public libraries, the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, and conventions. He has also presented all day workshops for librarians, introduced anime films at the Smithsonian, and even taught an eight week course on the subject for Pixar staff. Most recently he foolishly agreed to encapsulate the history of manga and anime from 1960 to the present as a one hour presentation for the San Francisco Public Library. In his spare time Gilles reads manga, watches anime, and researches about Japan. When he can save enough vacation time and money, he visits Tokyo – a city he is so interested in that he has been called a Tokyo otaku by a friend who lives there. Currently he is working on two books at a far too slow pace.

Registration Info General

Registration is the first place to go when you arrive at FanimeCon 2016. With your valid photo ID, this is where you can pick up your membership badge (for fully paid, online registrations) or register and pay for membership at the convention. Please consult fanime.com/registration-faq/ for the Registration FAQ and hours. Registration hours are also listed in the FanimeCon pocket guide.

Lost Badge Policy In the event that you lose or misplace your membership badge, please check with Lost and Found to see if it has been found and returned. If your badge has not been returned, then you may request a replacement badge at the cost of half of your original membership purchase price. If you lose or misplace your badge a second time (and assuming it has not been returned to Lost and Found), then you will be charged the full price for a badge replacement. A replacement badge will invalidate your original badge. There are NO refunds for your replacement badge if you should find your original badge.

Professional Professional Registration (“ProReg”) handles memberships for members of the press covering FanimeCon, as well as creators, executives, and marketing personnel of anime and manga industries. ProReg is located in Room 114 on the first floor of the San Jose Convention Center, Marriott side. Please see the ProReg FAQ on the FanimeCon website for more information.

Volunteering Volunteering is a great way to give back and experience FanimeCon in a whole new way! By working just 20 hours, you get a full refund of your weekend membership or five hours for a day membership. Plus, if you work more hours or show great work, you get prizes! Nowhere else will you have the opportunity to work for so many departments or do such a wide variety of tasks. We offer flexible schedules, meaning you don’t have to miss your favorite events and will have plenty of time to enjoy the convention. To see what we’re all about, stop by the Volunteers Room located on the second floor of the Marriott right next to the hallway leading to the convention center! Rovers The Rovers are responsible for customer service and safety at FanimeCon. They are found throughout the convention helping FanimeCon Members, and ensuring that the convention is as fun, and safe, as possible. Rovers have a lot of responsibilities, but can often be found doing the following: • General Safety: Preventing unsafe behavior and activities (such as running, blocking doorways, etc.), and dealing with unsafe situations (spills, facility issues, etc.) as efficiently as possible. • Peace-Bonding: Tagging props which are compliant with FanimeCon’s Weapons Policy. The main peace-bonding station is in Santa Clara I on the Hilton second floor. • Line and Crowd Control: Ensuring that crowds stay orderly, and that lines

flow. Keeping walkways, exits, fire safety equipment, etc. clear. • Access Control: Checking IDs for age-controlled events, and verifying credentials for restricted areas. • Escort Duties: Providing safety escorts for staff and members as needed or requested. • Policy Compliance: Enforcing the Weapons Policy and Code of Conduct. • Rovers are also equipped to assist with emergencies, harassment or missing persons. Rovers are the fastest and most efficient way to verify situations and inform the proper authorities or service personnel. If you have an issue which you believe requires Rovers assistance, find the nearest Rover, or send a text message to 1 (415) FANIME1 (1.415.326.4631) and we will do our best to help you.

Emergency Services Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and police officers of San Jose are always available on site. If any medical or other emergency occurs, please contact ConOps or the nearest Rover as soon as possible.

Lost and Found Lost & Found is just that — where to go to either look for or turn in a lost precious. If you’ve found someone’s lost precious, please bring it to us and we’ll hold it. If you’ve lost your precious, come by and describe it to us – hopefully someone else has already given it to us. NOTE: Please be patient when trying to track down something you’ve lost. Many people who find a lost item or badge turn it in when they have a chance, which is not always right when they find it or when you lost it. All Lost & Found items are held for a 3-month period after the convention, when they are then turned over to the convention. To contact Lost & Found after the convention, email lost@fanime.com. Do not email during the run of the convention; it will not be received.

Essentials Convention Etiquette Photographs

Everyone enjoys photos at a convention, but no one appreciates having their picture taken by surprise. Ask permission beforehand to ensure the highest quality photographs. Remember to be considerate and never block traffic. Convention traffic is a terrible background, and it’s hard to take a nice shot when people walk into your photo or bump into you or your subject. Keep FanimeCon safe and take wonderful pictures!

Autographs Each year, FanimeCon hosts guests of honor and, each year, FanimeCon members wish to obtain their autographs. For those members, FanimeCon will designate a special area for you to gain those cherished memories. The schedule will have the times and places where our guests of honor will sign autographs, so be sure to check the

schedule because they may only have one autograph session. Remember, these people are our guests and should be treated with respect. Kindness and smiles go a long way. Have fun and enjoy your time with this year’s guests of honor!

Parent Lounge Tired of the hustle and bustle of the convention? Not really sure about this whole Fanime-thing your kids have dragged you to? Take a load off at our pleasant Parent Lounge! Located on the first floor of the Hilton, this is a place for parents to relax without worrying about accidentally walking through a photoshoot or tripping over someone’s prop. Relax and take a breather at the Parent Lounge before venturing out to explore Fanime!

New Mom Rooms We have set aside rooms for new mothers to make use of during the convention. Whether it be for some much-needed privacy, or just to have some peace and quiet, these lockable rooms will be available at the Hilton and DoubleTree hotels. For the Hilton Hotel location, the key is available in ConOps on Hilton 2nd Floor and it will be open the same hours. For the DoubleTree location, the key will be available at Clockwork Alchemy ConOps and it will be open the same hours as ConOps.

Code of Conduct Everyone must comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws, ordinances, and regulations at all times. Officers of the San Jose Police Department are on site. Laws include, but are not limited to the following: • No disorderly conduct such as loitering, public intoxication, indecent exposure, begging, or soliciting. Art by Nancy Tsai

Please respect the facilities. The San Jose Convention Center & Cultural Facilities and surrounding hotels have been gracious enough to host FanimeCon for many years, and we would like to keep coming back. Please leave the facilities and equipment in at least as good a condition as you found them. • All aisles, exits, fire safety devices, and concession stands must be kept clean, clear, visible, and unobstructed at all times. • Do not tape, tack, staple, nail, or otherwise affix anything to any wall or surface in San Jose Convention Center & Cultural Facilities. They are not equipped to provide outside telephone service. • No outside food or drink may be sold or distributed on the premises without prior permission, licenses, permits, and insurance. • Except for approved Service Animals, animals may not be brought into the San Jose Convention Center & Cultural Facilities without prior written consent. • Only people with disabilities or prior approval may use transportation devices indoors. • No skateboards, bicycles, or roller-blades are allowed indoors or in the Convention Center Entry Plaza. • You are not allowed to operate any remote controlled devices within Convention Center space*. This includes drones which fly, float, or drive. • Shoes must be worn at all times.

Please be respectful and courteous of everybody around you. This includes Guests of Honor, convention and hotel personnel, FanimeCon staff, and fellow members. • Due to the large number of FanimeCon members, please move carefully. Do not obstruct the flow of traffic, be conscientious with props, and do not run indoors. • Please request autographs only during designated autograph sessions. Unless exceptions have been announced ahead of time, please limit requests to one autograph per person per guest. • Do not harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or mob people. Please do not hug or glomp without permission. Respect other people’s personal space. In addition to the above, FanimeCon has the following rules:

• Please do not use any of the electrical outlets in the convention center except in designated areas. • Please comply with the FanimeCon Costume & Props Policy, read it carefully and abide by its rules. • FanimeCon Badges are property of FanimeCon, and are loaned to Members for their exclusive use and enjoyment. Memberships (and therefore Badges) are non-transferable. Essentials The FanimeCon Cosplay Rules & Weapons Policy Costume Rules & Limitations • All con attendees must wear shoes at all times while in official convention space. This includes, but is not limited to the: Marriot, Hilton, Fairmont, Civic Center, and Parkside Hall. Even if a character goes barefoot, the cosplayer must wear shoes • Costumes and daily wear shall not expose the body in such a way as to be deemed indecent exposure under California and City of San Jose ordinances. Private parts must be covered in an opaque material and not be subject to slippage or gaps. Liquid Latex or other conformal body coatings will be judged on a case by case basis. • All costumes worn within the convention center must fit through a standard doorway. • No costume may generate odor, smoke, or fog, or have overly bright or flashing lights. • All costumes with limited visibility and/ or movement must have a “handler” to assist with crowd navigation and safety. This also applies to costumes with large “wings” or other oversized elements. • No costumes may be realistic depictions of American Law Enforcement or current American Military uniforms, or have the words POLICE, POLICIA, SWAT, FBI, DEA, CIA or any other official Government Agency names or initials on them. • Official flags shall be respected, and cannot be worn as part of a costume. They must be on a flagpole. Home-made or unofficial flags are exempt from this rule.

Prop Rules & Limitations • If you want to carry a prop at FanimeCon, it must be peace-bonded by a Rover at a peace-bonding station. With the exception of explicitly banned props, all peace-bonding will be judged on a caseby-case basis. • Only props which are part of a cosplay and suit the costume will be peace-bonded. • In order to carry a peace-bonded prop, you must be in the matching costume. • Certain weapons are banned no matter what: –– Anything which is illegal in the City of San Jose, Santa Clara County, State of California, or the United States in general. –– Real weapons, projectile weapons (such as airsoft, bb and nerf guns, bows, crossbows, and firearms), live steel¹, metal/wooden baseball bats, metal kunai, incendiary devices, lasers, paddles, whips, floggers, baton-type weapons, or props made of glass. –– Guns which are suitably realistic that they could be mistaken for a real gun, or which utilize significant parts of a real gun, airsoft gun, bb gun, or other projectile weapon –– Any item may be added to this list at any time by FanimeCon. Changes will be posted at Rovers, Peace Bonding stations, and to the website. • Some props are allowed conditionally: –– Gun-like props must have a non-removable orange tip at the end of the barrel which is visible from the side and which extends at least one inch up the barrel, or they must be painted all over in a bright safety color. They cannot have any functional parts, and must not be useable –– Sword-like props may not be made of live steel2. –– Signs which an actual character carries may be peace-bonded.

• All props must be small enough to fit through a standard doorway without effort. • While carrying props, you will be held to very strict behavior standards: –– Props may not be brandished, flailed around, or used (for play-fighting or otherwise). –– Props must remain with the costume they were peace-bonded for. –– Especially in crowded areas, attendees are expected to carry their props carefully and in a neutral position. Long or tall props must be carried vertically, and sword-like and gun-like props should be holstered or otherwise secured. –– Using props in an unsafe or threatening manner may result in more severe consequences. –– Gun like props may not be pointed at anyone at any time. –– Any behavior which a FanimeCon staff member considers to be unsafe or unacceptable will result in appropriate action by a staff member.

Potential Consequences for Violations: • First Offense: –– Props: Removal of peace-bond and/or prop taken off premises. –– Costume: Required costume modification/removal or acquisition of a handler. • Second Offense: –– One day badge suspension and/or fullweekend suspension of prop privileges. • Third Offense: –– Badge pulled. FanimeCon reserves the right to modify consequences as necessary at their discretion. Weapons and Props bought during FanimeCon from the Dealer’s Hall, Artist’s

Alley, or Swap-Meet must be put into a box or bag which renders them inaccessible, and unusable. They must then be removed from convention premises as soon as possible. We will not peace-bond anything bought during the convention except props which meet all peacebonding requirements. Props for Masquerade have a completely different set of rules. If you wish to carry a prop for Masquerade around the convention center, it must meet all peacebonding criteria (and have been peacebonded.) If it is only for Masquerade, it must stay in a car or hotel room except when you are taking it to, are at, or are taking it back to your car or room from Masquerade. and Chinese-language manga, making the Manga Lounge the perfect place to catch up on your faves or find something new to read. New Exchange Section – This is new to the Manga Lounge. It’s a place where you can take manga you don’t want anymore and exchange them for something different. You might even find that one manga you’ve been looking for to complete your collection. Come trade one of your own manga for any manga in this section. As long as the manga is legible, without tears, and not missing any pages, we will exchange it for your choice from the exchange section of the Lounge.

FMV Contest Anime Music Videos (“AMVs”) are one of the many highlights of anime cons, and FanimeCon is no exception! Our FanimeCon Music Videos (“FMVs”) competition showcases the best videos each year from fans around the world – literally! We’ve received and continue to receive entries from all over the country, regularly from Brazil, Scotland, Morocco, Hungary, and Korea, among others. These talented editors compete in many categories such as Action, Drama, and Comedy, as well as Upbeat and Trailer.

Speed Dating Where instant connections are made and sparks are ignited! The FanimeCon Speed Dating events are for 18+ singles only who are interested in meeting new people and potentially finding love! Fan Storage is available in the Hilton. • Physical and/or verbal harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. • Large props will not be allowed in the dance (larger than 24 inches). Attendees may be asked to put away props of any size if they are determined to be a potential danger to others. • Chemical based glow products (I.E. glow sticks, necklaces, or bracelets) are not allowed in the dance, but LED-based lighting utilities are allowed as long as they do not present an immediate danger to others (I.E.: LED SWINGING POI GLOBES). • No “Laser Gloves” or laser pointers will be allowed. • E-Cigarette use or vaping inside the convention center is strictly prohibited and illegal. Vapes and e-cigarettes are not allowed in to the dance. If you are caught with one inside, you will be ejected. • Only authorized personnel are allowed on the stage. • No prop or coat check is available inside the dance. All unattended items will be picked up and turned in to “Lost and Found”. Fan Storage and Lost & Found is located in the Hilton.

It’s time for an evening of fun and elegance at the ninth annual Black & White Ball! Put on your favorite dancing shoes and don your best formal wear or formal cosplay. Join us for great music, photography, and (of course) hours of dancing! Not sure how to dance? Don’t worry: The Black & White Ball staff offer group dance lessons every day leading up to the ball! A handful of private lessons will also be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so sign up early during the con! Don’t have something that fits within the dress code? Remembering the Past with the Nostalgia Critic Video Room Main LL21 C/D Along with the 5 Second Movies, The Nostalgia Critic is the most popular video series created by Walker, in which he plays the titular Nostalgia Critic, a grumpy and easily aggravated character who mostly reviews entertainment from the 1980s and 1990s. His catch-phrase, “I’m the Nostalgia Critic. I remember it, so you don’t have to,” usually opens and ends each video. Not all reviews are negative, such as the reviews of Double Dare and Gargoyles.
