Head Project Designer. New apartment development in Alexandria, VA. For this project I have been responsible for the design, ensuring the intent is carried through the different phases of the project. I have done extensive research on materials and details to be able to communicate the design intent to the team and client. I have been also directing design meetings and coordinating with the team to develop the different packages for the ANC meetings, OP meetings, Zoning meetings and Client Meetings. Currently working on this project, on the Construction Document Phase.

METRO CENTER Commercial Development, Washington, DC Head Project Designer. This is a project with a highly confidential High Tech Client; A very complex Repositioning project, with Interior and Exterior components. The scope of work consists on the recladding of the façade, the addition of a lobby and terrace spaces at different levels and areas of the project for the future tenants, new design for the façade and design of interior spaces that would replace a big retail store- both lobby areas and work areas-, in addition to new parking spaces and mechanical spaces taking into account a new interior court that would be mechanically ventilated.

ABOUT ME I am a passionate Architect always seeking innovation and professional growth. As a designer I’ve been exploring innovative ways of interaction in different kinds of spaces taking into consideration time, context and the potential of space to change. Before starting my career in Washington DC, I worked in Puerto Rico, Italy, and The Netherlands. I have been living in Washington DC for the past 10+ years and have experience in a range of facility types including multifamily residential, healthcare, office environments, and full scale building renovations, in varying scopes that range from base building, building repositioning and/or interior architecture. I have been involved in all phases of design process, developing solutions to technical and design problems. My varied cultural experience has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge on built environments and to better understand the interaction between people and space.

Designer & Project Architect mainly in the Multi-family Housing with some experience in the Commercial Sector. I’ve been involved in all phases of the design process (from RFP’s, and SD to CA). I was granted with an in-office microgrant to study and develop ideas for ‘The Future of Retail’, gaining expertise in the subject by attending different workshops and seminars related to the topic. I was also an active member of the in-house Full Circle Committee and the Design Committee. MAIN PROJECTS:

BROADCAST Apartments, Washington DC Head Project Designer. New apartment development on Tenley Town. For this project I have been responsible for the design, ensuring the intent is carried through the different phases of the project. I have done extensive research on materials and details to be able to communicate the design intent to the team and client. I have been also directing design meetings and coordinating with the team to develop the different packages for the ANC meetings, OP meetings, Zoning meetings and Client Meetings. During the CD phase I have overseen documenting all the details for the exterior of the project.

Penn 11, Washington DC Project Designer. New multifamily development on Pennsylvania Avenue SE at the Old Frager’s Hardware Store, which was devastated by a fire in 2013. As designer for the exterior, I managed developing packages for the client, community meetings, and coordination process with the different consultants from the Conceptual Design through Construction Documents. During the Contract Administration phase I became the face and Manager for the project: answering the different RFIs, Submittals, coordinating any changes to the Contract Documents, attending meetings and observing the construction progress, as well as coordinating and overseeing the schedule, and writing and coordinating Additional Services that might come up.

501 N. Union Street, Alexandria VA Designer. New multifamily development in Old Town Alexandria. I was mainly focused on the design and coordination of the exterior skin, and responsible of coordinating with the structural, landscape, civil and interior designer of the project.

WW1 Memorial Competition, Washington DC Competition for the WW1 Memorial in Washington, DC. The scope of work included everything from research, creating a concept and representation for the experience of the memorial in the city.

Repositioning of a canopy and rooftop terrace. I was responsible for the Construction Document Set. This was originally a PUD (Planned Unit Development) and the focus was on how to make it more effective and up to date.

Architectural designer with experience in a range of facility types including proton therapy centers, office environments, and full-scale building renovations in varying scopes that range from base-building, building repositioning and/ or interior architecture. MAIN PROJECTS: NCCS Singapore (Competition) Teamed with Singaporean firm CPG Architects to design a new proton therapy center with a MOB tower for a competition in Singapore.

Emory University Proton Therapy Center, Atlanta GA Design of a new proton therapy center in mid-town Atlanta. The 12,542 m2 state-of-the-art proton center will house five gantries, provide a 200- car parking structure, and create 1,858 m2 of retail space along an active pedestrian street.

New York Proton Therapy Center, New York, NY Design of a new 11,148 m2 proton therapy center in Manhattan. The facilities’ environment promotes a sense of well-being and comfort for patients using of vivid colors, natural materials and the manipulation of artificial and natural light.

815 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington DC Renovation of a 210,000 SF building to include main building lobby, elevator lobbies, new roof terrace, new exterior curtain wall, and replacement of mechanical systems. The project received LEED Platinum Certification. JAN 2011JUNE 2011

STUDIO ROOSEGAARDE. ROTTERDAM, NETHERLANDS INTERACTIVE DESIGNER

I development technical drawings, artist impressions, schedules for production, experience prototypes with integration of technology, pilots and presentations for several interactive installations.

MAIN PROJECTS: Lotus Dome. Lille France Lotus Dome is a living dome made from hundreds of smart flowers that fold open in response to human proximity. Deep inside the 17thcentury Sainte Marie Madeleine Church in Lille, France, LOTUS DOME creates an interactive play of light and shadow. As a futuristic vision on the Renaissance, LOTUS DOME merges elements of architecture and nature into an interactive environment.

Clouds uses water as the main ‘ingredient’ of the work of art, creating rings of hot steam that rise with a specific frequency. The installation hacks the water, plays with light and color and interacts with the people in the determined space.

Creation, production, distribution and advertisement of hairpieces and swimwear. I Developed as an entrepreneur, developing many skills related to communication and design. This opportunity allowed me to enter a market that I barely knew, selling and distributing products to more than 8 boutiques in Puerto Rico and Miami; my hairpieces have been worn by several artists and featured in runways, fashion magazines and newspapers. I had the opportunity to work with the architect Fernando Plá in the rehabilitation project of the city centers of the towns of Ciales, Jayuya, and Salinas, Puerto Rico. I documented the centers of: Ciales, Jayuya and Salinas, including all historical structures, site infrastructure, plazas etc. I oversaw making censuses, AutoCad drawings, diagrams use, infrastructure, green analysis, etc. We proposed a Master Plan, along with a plan and timeframe of implementation.
