HI, I’M KELLEY! I’m a photographer based in Kansas City, MO and for
me, there’s nothing more important than capturing the joy in every moment created with family—that’s us pictured on this page! I’m married to my best friend, Brian and we have three beautiful, wild, and wonderful kiddos, Ella, Max, and Joey. As a mama of three, I know life gets busy and moves incredibly fast. These little ones grow up in the blink of an eye! That’s why I enjoy photographing families so much. I find it’s a way to slow things down and savor all of the memories before they are gone. I’ve prepared this guide for you as way for you to get some helpful info when considering or planning for a family photo session. my approach My approach to family photography is simple, I am here to tell your story. My goal is to show your connections, have fun, and make everyone comfortable. It all begins by meeting at a beautiful location in the late afternoon or in your home in the best light of the day. Next, rather than merely posing, my family photo sessions are intended to show the best of your real life. While walking, talking, laughing and playing, I strive to unveil natural and beautiful moments that reflect your family in a genuine way. My biggest hope is that we will create more than photos, but memories that will that fill your heart and home with JOY

planning for your session
As a mom of young kids, I know how crazy life can be. That’s why with family photo sessions, it’s worth planning ahead. Depending on weather and kiddos, my sessions last around an hour and a half, so it’s a good idea to bring some extra layers of clothes, snacks and water just in case. And if your family is running late, don’t worry about it. We’ve all been there! It’s better to arrive late and at ease than all stressed out. I am here to give you more than a gallery full of beautiful images, but happy memories to go along with each shot, so prepare to have fun! Lastly, if you have something you’d like to bring, like your family dog, a special treat, favorite toys or something else, by all means, bring it along! This is all about telling your story, and most families have precious things that will put their children at ease and tell more about their current phase of life than words could say!

Kelley took our very first pictures when I was pregnant with our first son. We hadn’t taken pictures of just the two of us since our wedding day (almost 8 years later). She listened well and took some amazing pictures of my then growing family. I have pictures that you would never know I was pregnant (just capturing a sweet gesture between my husband and I) and then sweetness of my growing belly. session pricing short & sweet session - $275 * 30 minute Session * Pre-chosen location (don’t worry...I’ll pick a fantastic spot!) * Online Proofing Gallery * 20 digital images - additional digital images or prints may be purchased after the session * Up to 7 people. Larger groups are not eligable for this session.
lifestyle session - $475 * 1.5 Hour Session * On Location OR In Home Shoot * Online Proofing Gallery * All edited images in a high resolution download * Up to 7 people ($50 additional for 8-14 people; $100 additional for up to 20 people. If your group is larger, I can give you a custom quote.)
With each of these sessions, you will receive a high resolution download of your beautified images, so you can print to your heart’s desire on your own. If you choose the Lifestyle Session, I ask for a non-refundable $100 deposit upon booking your session that will be deducted from the amount due on the date of your session. This is standard procedure to make sure that everyone shows up on the commited date of your session. The Short & Sweet session must be paid for in full at booking. If you would like to receive studio quality prints through my website, you may do so through your online gallery, but it’s certainly not required. The quality is pretty amazing though!
story told session So much happens during a day in the life of every family that goes unseen and is often forgotten. In this documentary style session I will follow your family through your favorite and/or normal day to day activities to reflect the undenyable beauty that surrounds you. These days are generally best captured from the time your child wakes up, until just after lunch, or from around lunchtime until bedtime. In planning for these sessions, I will send a survey to you to fill out that will help us pick an activity that best shows what your family does best within the time frame I will be with you, and we’ll go through your routine from there! This is what is included in a story told session... * 4 Hour Session * On Location AND In Home Shoot * Online Proofing Gallery with 100+ images * High Resolution Image Download + Printing Rights * A Hard Cover Photo Book of your Day Price - $1000
What should we wear?

Ideally, it’s best to wear something that is comfortable and makes you feel good. Stay away from clothing with logos or crazy fluorescent colors. And of course watch out for outfits that might clash. Rather than match perfectly, think of having everyone wear something that goes together in a natural, yet not overly obvious way. Most importantly wear something that authentically reflects who you are. If you are interested in working with a fabulous hairstylist for your session, let me know, and I will get you in contact with my girl, Erica Mackey...she really is the best!
What locations work best? We live in a beautiful city! There is so much natural beauty and we have so many farms, lakes, buildings, and parks. You almost can’t go wrong! When selecting a location try to find a spot that is special to your family. If you always go to specific park, ice cream shop, or are a family who’s favorite memories are in your own home, that might be the perfect place to start. We are telling your story, so choose a location that reflects who you are the best.
When can we see the photos? Within two weeks after the session, you will receive a link to your online gallery to be able to view and download the images.
