THE INCEPTION STORY AT A GLANCE Hailing from the IT space, the duo of entrepreneurs began researching cryptocurrency out of curiosity in 2016. Although both are the two dice on the same board manifesting different numbers, the integration of AI in our system gives us an impeccable opportunity to solve user problems. Confidentially implementing AI and maintaining that trust and security using Blockchain-based models is pivotal. We have already started seeing that and looking for more profound and unforeseen results in future.

Sudhanshu - Our way of developing the frontend has always been keeping in mind the user experience and how we can make it easier even for a user who has no experience with cryptocurrency exchanges. As far as the tech is concerned, we needed to have something that can fit our needs to cope up with the tech we are using in the backend so we haven’t used an existing framework as it is, we have modified, improved and implemented our features that the said framework doesn’t support. We are constantly making changes to the existing structures and schemas of these frameworks, innovating to make it our own and to give an even better experience to the users.

if the user is not getting the outcome they thought before choosing us, then all our struggle to lead Southern Asia and making them use the disruptive technology that we foresee as the coming future is all vain. We provide a 99.9 percent server uptime rate, and this sets us uniquely apart. That was my answer for sales. If I talk about analytics, for instance, we have the last week’s new user base of 100, to which at least 48 per cent are the daily trading new users. What does this show? It shows that 48 new users are trading on Flitpay daily, meaning we have a potential contribution to the cryptocurrency industry in India.

BUSINESS CONNECT - FOR INSTANCE, IF THINGS BECOME AMBIGUOUS, HOW DO YOU (AS THE WHOLE FLITPAY) ADOPT THE THINGS CHANGING AT A FASTER PACE?

Abhishek- India is now the 3rd largest ecosystem for start-ups in the world. Looking at the data released by the government in 2018, there were about 50,000 start-ups with an expected YoY growth of 12-13 per cent. In 2019, there were 1300 tech start-ups launched. Significantly, the number of women entrepreneurs stood at 14 per cent in 2019, from 10 per cent and 11 per cent in 2017. Everyone is doing their job, and so we are. Answer in terms of the cryptocurrency . For now, the change is ambiguous. We are trying to enrapture our users with disruptive updates to make their trading experience steady and fast. For instance, we are the first in India to make our users eligible for the Practice Account, Instant Deposit and Withdrawal, and UPI Transaction. It is what we have in hand right now, and our efforts are to make the best out of the opportunities.

For instance, SpaceX announcement on a rideshare mission to the moon is the first-ever space mission fully funded by cryptocurrency, i.e., Dogecoin. And, such disruptive technology participating in space missions provides a solid rationale for believing in the decentralized future.

BUSINESS CONNECT- TAKING THINGS TO THE DRAWING BOARD IS EVERYONE’S IDEA. WHAT DO YOU THINK GIVES ACCESS TO THE NEW ROOM FOR AGGREGATED CUSTOMER FEEDBACK, ESPECIALLY IN INDIA?

Abhishek - We are still in the early phase of the development. See, even after five years of establishment, we are still developing. But to be in an astute state, the exchange still needs to pass the phase of leveraging aggregated customers. In India, people are not much open to being called in a session for discussion or feedback. Still, we have a set of people finding a better way to go at the centre of the ground, ask, and pen down the concern and proceed accordingly.

About The Founders Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta are the ones who came up with the brilliant idea of launching the boAt company and they implemented it in 2016. The Delhi-based start-up is famous for its stylish electronic brands. Aman, a co-founder knew the electronics trade to a good extent. He had contributed three years of his in the family business from 2007 to 2010. Aman had work experience in Citibank from 2003 to 2006 post completing the Chartered Accountancy course. In 2010, he went for an MBA at the Indian School of Business. Later on, he saw himself working at KPMG and then JBL (electronics and gadgets), and came the turn of product management. As he used to identify the right products for the domestic markets, his experience and expertise helped him to a great extent in the case of boAt. Aman said once they don’t sell their products as electronics only. They sell them as lifestyle accessories. THE INCEPTION TALE

When asked to walk us through his entrepreneurial journey that made him an inspiring leader in the current scenario, Puneet revealed that the idea emerged back in 1980. During that time, his father Santosh Kumar Bery used to manufacture diesel engine crankshafts, with around 20 employees in a single manufacturing unit in Meerut. Owing to his ‘inbuilt’ business acuity, Puneet happened to observe a major shift across the industry- crankshafts would soon become redundant and fade out with technology advancements in the sector. This realization resulted in Puneet pondering over the global export 36


opportunities that could have been leveraged with existing resources and capital. After long hours of brainstorming sessions with his well-wishers, he concluded to start manufacturing pipeline flanges, which were particularly in high demand in the Middle East.

“Back in those days, the Middle East countries had contracts with US companies for maintaining and upgrading their oil refineries. Aspiring to tap into this lucrative market, I inaugurated my very first business venture KSP Inc in 1987. Based in Noida, the company has managed to extend its presence across 150,000 square feet amongst four factories while employing over 1100 people,” asserts the MD. TRANSFORMATION- CRANKSHAFTS TO HOME STORAGE

Previously, KSP Inc began its operations as a B2B company that only manufactured pipeline flanges for the US-based companies, where it happened to set better business benchmarks. But a fervour across the industry in 1990, caused due to the implementation of an embargo on stainless steel flanges from India and China, induced a major shift in the company’s operations. Puneet happened to recognize a beneficial opportunity to evolve his business back then! In this respect,

he recalls, “The leisure spaces that I witnessed during my foreign trips always fascinated me. In the US, I saw stores with temporary sheds with a garden and a space for recreational activities. And I started wondering how I could make the best out of such an idea as a businessman.” He further adds that the present generation of customers is quite intelligent and is pretty sure of what it truly wants, ergo as a supplier, he is bound to be in tandem with the overall sensibilities of the end-buyers. And heavily focusing on this core principle value, KSP diversified its product portfolio- launching home decor offerings in 2004. Pivoting and diversification of the product portfolio have ensured KSP with better revenue generation accompanied by ample work opportunities during

all seasons. Nowadays, the company is well-positioned in the market for its exclusive products like bird feeders, lawn and garden decor, furniture, fireplace tools and accessories and home storage. Moreover, it has been exporting these products to different countries such as the US, the UK, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Canada, France, and Australia and a considerable portion of its clientele includes some ‘bigwigs’ like Walmart, Lowes, Tesco, Sainsbury, Staples, and many others.

Led by the father-son duo, KSP Inc effectively managed to navigate the covid-19 crisis that posed travel restrictions and supply chain disruptions affecting exports. Motivated by this ‘victory’, the leadership team of KSP has envisioned to go big in the domestic market and would be heavily supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign- contributing to boosting domestic manufacturing. Given that, Puneet is heading the formulation of relevant products exclusively curated for the Indian market to address the storage problem in India. All of these products are sort of relaunching of KSP’s home storage product line (originally launched in 2016) and more innovations are in the midst of completion as per the ‘magnate’.

Education Has Put off Physical Classrooms and Shifted to Online Classes The best days were when schools and colleges were open and students were seen rushing to school in neat and tidy uniforms with bags in their shoulders and sometimes running with those heavy bags to not get late. After reaching school, to stand for morning prayers and then some physical activities, after that straight to the classrooms filled with our classmates. The same way for college, when students were always confused with what to wear today, what period to bunk and go to the canteen, etc. Those days now seem to be just a memory to cherish. An education center is the best public policy tool available to raise skills. While school/college time can be fun along with raising social skills and social awareness if we look from an economic point of view the primary point of being in school/college was that it helped in increasing a child’s ability. But the arrival of COVID-19 has led to the departure of students going to education centers. Well! we say a coin has its two sides, the same way this too has both good and bad impressions but let’s just go for a positive version because 2020 has brought us enough negative things. Whatever the condition comes, one should never stop learning, and if one way of going to an educational center is closed than open another way of e-learning. The arrival of Covid-19 has forced schools and universities across the world to put off physical classrooms and shifted to online classes. While the faculty deals with the new ways of managing this sudden transition to online education, students are left clinging on to their mobile phones and computer screens.

FUTURE EDUCATION SYSTEM

The new way of learning where courses are conducted online, examinations are conducted online, assignments are submitted through email. For India, this seems to be a good opportunity to strengthen internet connectivity across rural India. It will help every village and town to be digitally connected for the better interaction between the students and teachers. When it comes to the students some are quick at adapting this system and some take a little longer time to acquaint with this system. Fundamental structural changes should be made in the curriculum/syllabi and programs should be a part of the curriculum in engineering and science degree programs. This will help in creating future entrepreneurs and this can be one way to help beat unemployment and increase business skills amongst the youth. The business community should play a foremost role in this new educational system. Higher education in India needs to be more international but more locally connected and socially responsible, more flexible(curriculum), should be innovative and open for more collaboration. Innovative models should be introduced, Universities/institutes could be online that would provide internet-based flexible offerings. The Post Covid-19 is an opportunity we look forward to transforming the higher education system.
