Editor’s Note Education has found a corridor of technology to reach miles with excellence and offered a multitude of benefits to students. It’s a revolution that the field of education is experiencing, and the standards of learning have touched the pinnacle. E-learning is the latest way of transmitting information and knowledge to the learners so that they can enhance their intellect or study with ease and comfort. Students are becoming technologically advanced and their dimension of knowledge is expanding. Henceforth, e-learning has brought a dynamic transformation into the educational arena and has raised the standards. In India, a great percentage of colleges and schools are putting a beaucoup of effort into the promotion of various advanced methods of e-learning. Therefore, Business Connect in the edition of ‘Top10 E-learning service providers in India’ has focused the limelight on the emerging and also well-established e-learning service providers. Whilst writing articles for the ace institutes, startups, or online tutorials, I was traversed back into my school times when notebooks, chalk, and duster were the quintessential sources for imparting the education. I remember how we were heavily loaded with syllabus books to do rote learning without any creative and interactive classrooms. The full theoretical approach was opted by our teachers to make us understand a particular topic. This was quite monotonous. There was a compulsion for attending the classes physically because if the lecture got missed then it would directly affect the marks of the students. There was no record of the lectures so that at the time of requirement students could review them. However, in the present times, e-learning has pioneered the educational arena. There are multiple and countless benefits to it. Students, nowadays, can learn sitting comfortably at home or anywhere according to the suitability. Students can learn Physics, Chemistry, Maths, etc. through online tutorials. Experts from different domains offer the lectures, and students as per their accordance capture the provided knowledge and information. Most colleges and schools have smart classrooms with smart boards and projectors. The audiovisual study has added the flavor of creativity and interactively offered in-depth knowledge. Even the government has taken various initiatives for promoting e-learning in schools and colleges. Even there is study material available online for various competitive examinations such as IIT’s or any Medical entrance. There are question papers available on the Internet which student can download and solve as per their convenience and time. No physical energy is wasted in attending coaching classes and there is a safety of time as well. In this edition of Business Connect Magazine, we have highlighted a multitude of e-learning service providers, which have brought an incredible change. Kalorex Group has occupied the cover page of this phenomenal edition. This group has greatly impacted the lives of various students in a positive way. uality education is the right of each child as well as a demand by all stake holders. It becomes quite indispensable therefore for every school to adopt unconventional methodologies for imparting an exemplary education. The educational boundaries have also expanded to not only providing quality education but also to ensure skill development and employability later, so the spotlight has shifted entirely to the learner and his/her future success.
Students across our nation require an overall personality development along with academic studies. The need of the times is to synchronize the teaching methods with the latest technology so the students can match the standards and get a quadruple boost in their growth and intellect through blended learning methods and applicability in life.

The flagship school under the Kalorex Banner is Delhi Public School (DPS)-Bopal, in Ahmedabad. With that the Group runs one more DPS in the East of Ahmedabad as well as 5 Calorx Public Schools, located in Ahmedabad, Mundra, Bharuch, Rajula, and Jaipur. Apart from this, there is a chain of pre-schools across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, working as franchise and company owned models. To cater to the differentiated needs of students, a school for special learning needs called ‘Kalorex Prerna’ was set up. As a CSR initiative, the ‘Visamo Kids Foundation’ was opened which is a home for underprivileged but bright students, who study in partner schools across Ahmedabad, and are offered premium K-12 education and vocational guidance beyond school years too. Vocational and Educational Institute of Calorx (VEDIC), runs under the Kalorex banner, for skill development of underprivileged girls, to train them towards setting up their own business or getting employment.
STANDING APART FROM THE COMPETITORS
The Kalorex Group is different in what it promises to the entire spectrum of students. Premium to affordable education and also free education with skill development.
Kalorex Group, a prodigious name in the educational arena, is the brainchild of Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, the MD and CEO of the Group. The Group caters to the education industry specifically in the K-12 segment and offers a range of opportunities and services to all types and groups of students. The company was incepted in 1996 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and since then it has expanded from one school in 1996 to 40 plus institutions till 2019.

It has been a pioneer in implementing educational advancement in all its schools. Be it implementing ICT in the classroom more than a decade ago, through wall projectors or giving laptops for students with pre-loaded content, it has evolved in its educational practices with changing times. Irrespective of the Boards that the schools may follow, the indigenous Kalorex Taxonomy caters to all the aspects of a student’s learning and enables the educators to know their students historically and holistically. The Taxonomy helps to include all perspectives of education in the child’s learning. Academic Excellence thus forms an integral ‘core value’ of the organization.

DAYS OF STRUGGLE
KEEPING ABREAST WITH THE MARKET TRENDS
Nothing seemed easy at the time of starting but now when Dr. Shroff looks back, everything seemed easily accomplished. Challenges were always a part and parcel of any initiative but hard work, a motivated team, support from the government, and acceptance from the business community of Gujarat kept the Group going strong. The flagship institute-‘the Delhi Public School’, is still going strong as the best CBSE School in Gujarat. According to Dr. Shroff, small successes kept giving her motivation and encouragement to keep moving ahead and set up many institutions over the years. With a learning attitude and a curious mind, she kept seeking advice and gaining knowledge about the industry to keep abreast with the latest that the world had to offer.
Dr. Shroff is extremely passionate about education and believes in giving the best experience to her students, parents, and teachers. She travels worldwide and within India, to learn and experience the latest trends in the education industry. She also attends and addresses seminars and conferences with the same objectives. She loves to share her experiences and knowledge with the like-minded educationists and has established good connections with the best in the field. She ensures that she percolates her learnings to her training and development team to transfer the same among the teachers and administrators. She always encourages her teachers and staff as well, to attend forums and workshops continuously to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
TRANSFORMATION FOR STARTUPS
PROCESS OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Dr. Shroff feels that startups are the most encouraging and exciting revolution that has taken place in the business world in India. The Gandhian philosophy of depending on your skills for making a living has been revived with these startups. Young minds are coming up with brilliant ideas and are taking the plunge into entrepreneurship and are experiencing tremendous successes too. Today’s generation wants to explore and innovate and does not want to be tied down by the chains of a 9-5 job. This has created tremendous opportunities for the youth to be their own masters and move ahead with full ownership and responsibility.
WINNING THE FAITH OF CLIENTS
Being in the education sector, the Kalorex Group’s success hugely depends on the trust and faith of the clients that it serves, namely the students and parent community. These are the people who stay with them over 12-14 years, which is a long time in a lifespan. This trust is established by having clear and honest intentions and living up to all the expectations of the clients. To be above the rest and ensure client loyalty, the educators need to upgrade continuously to ensure supreme quality always.
Dr. Shroff has the opinion that with the education sector undergoing disruptions and innovations in every aspect, it is essential to keep track of R&D activities to ensure the correct direction. So many exciting developments are taking place in the industry through the R&D activities that governments are promoting and encouraging. Data studies and surveys are also helping in analyzing the educational trends and coming up with better teaching-learning strategies from pre-school onwards to keep the learners engaged in the classrooms.
Kalorex Group has an incubation center where talent is recognized and nurtured. The opportunities for growth and development are given to potential leaders, and they are groomed to take on leadership positions. Regular ideation and brainstorming activities with core team members provide new perspectives to old practices to be re-designed and implemented more effectively.
“I also believe in ideating for new ideas from my team members to get a new perspective for growth and development.” Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Employee satisfaction forms the crux of any enterprise. Kalorex offers various policies and employee benefits which ensure retention and satisfaction of its staff. The Group also offers professional development and leadership programs and has set processes to ensure that the internal talents get recognized and promoted within the Group. ‘Living in the Gap’ is another Core Value that the organization believes in. Continuous learning on the job and updating academic and administrative skills is a well-implemented practice. There is a system of awards and rewards in place for quality and performance where employees are recognized and appreciated at the group level for good work. Every project has its motivational practices for its staff to keep them excited and happy about their work.
www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
A humanitarian approach is one of the core values that the group promotes. Employees feel free to share their professional and personal problems and are helped in the best possible way.
FUTURE FOR ENTREPRENEURS
Being an ‘Edupreneur’ herself, Dr. Shroff believes that entrepreneurship is the way ahead, especially for the young generation. But there can be no compromise on gaining the education and qualification for it. It is empowering to generate employment and also to make money. The future is already in the present as far as entrepreneurship is concerned. There are numerous case studies where a small idea or investment became successful. These cases have encouraged people to explore their potential and
[ 14 ]
get into entrepreneurship. The education sector has also done its bit in providing professional courses and degrees to cater to this need.
INITIATIVES BY PRESENT GOVERNEMENT
Talking about the initiatives that the government is taking, Dr. Shroff emphasizes that very proactive steps to invest in the education sector are being taken. Delhi is an example of the positive changes that are brought by empowering the school leaders to take decisions as well as the introduction of the Happiness Curriculum to take care of the social and emotional wellbeing of students. There are many awareness campaigns by the government towards the safety and security of children in school. The Kalorex Schools have been partaking in most initiatives and are at par with other schools if not ahead. Similarly the draft ‘National Education Policy’ has taken inputs, suggestions, and ideas from all the levels of professionals from the field of education and policy-making towards bringing out radical changes in the educational scenario and progressively upgrading the system. They too have been instrumental in giving their inputs to ensure the radical changes in the final policy.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Dr. Shroff loves the outdoors and is quite passionate about a healthy lifestyle. She goes for adventure sports like mountain treks and river rafting. To be fit, she enjoys cycling and participating in cyclothons as well. She is also quite a spiritual person and finds her peace in doing meditation and yoga. She loves spending quality time with family and going on vacations with them. Talking about her role models, Dr. Shroff is quite impressed by the powerful women who have made a difference in the world because of their passion and intellect, and who have always inspired her. To name a few are Mother Teresa, Michele Obama, Condoleezza Rice, Hillary Clinton, who are leaders in their fields if not necessarily in business. There is a lot to learn from successful businesswomen like Kiran Majumdar Shaw, Indira Nooyi and even Shehnaz Hussain who have been pioneers in being successful Indian women. Over the years as the Group has expanded, so has her enthusiasm and zeal to keep moving ahead. Every start is tentative with unsure steps but confidence grows as targets get met and dreams turn into reality. The magnate says, “Even if some projects are not successful they will not stop me from planning new ventures, and I experience the same sense of excitement and trepidation just like for my first project.” [ 15 ]
ACHIEVEMENTS AND MILESTONES
Starting with one school and growing to 40 plus institutes in 24 years is something she is proud of. DPS Bopal, in Ahmedabad has been a front runner in quality education in the state of Gujarat. Over the years, the 10th and 12th board examination results consist of city toppers across all the subject streams. Kalorex students have also been making a mark on national and international levels in the co-scholastic areas too. Students excelling in Sports, Music, Dance, Art, Innovations, etc. have been encouraged and have brought laurels to our schools. Kalorex alumni are spread wide across the world and are well placed in their professional spheres. Alumni connect activities are organized on an annual basis to keep connected with their almamater. There is a long list of academic awards that Kalorex schools keep winning year after year for providing quality education. The Group is celebrating its silver anniversary this year.
FUTURE PLANS FOR THE COMPANY
Dr. Shroff strongly believes that unless they don’t innovate and upgrade they will not progress. With educational reform on the way, there ought to be continuous effort to be above the regular and conventional practices. Keeping this in mind they plan for the expansion in the pre-school as well as K-12 segments. They intend to make their presence in other southern and western states as well. They are also exploring more ways to engage students constructively on the campus by offering them services which they seek outside school. Making the school campus all-encompassing is the way ahead.
INSPIRING WORDS “Everyone needs to recognize their potential and explore possibilities. This is the age of disrupting and innovating. Out of the box, thinking is required for breakthroughs to happen in your business as well as in any profession that you may be in. Treat each failure as a stepping stone to overcome hurdles and learn to deal with them. Become leaders in your field to facilitate transformation and growth.” Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff

How to Create a
Tight-Knit Company Culture
That Can Scale With Your Business Business Connect Team

Y
our company has an excellent organizational culture? That means you have access to a fancy break room where you can play some Games and Involve together... Right?
No... Not by a long shot.
Even though it is all around us, and it determines how employees experience day-to-day life at their companies, it is very difficult to define “organizational culture” (mostly because its definition is being discussed since 2013). However, having one is essential: it prevents organizational chaos, it provides people with a sense of security and creates a base for further company growth. Plus it can be best tool for Tight-Knitting the organizational culture. But, how to create and utilize a tight- knit organizational culture? Which aspects should you strive toward, and what should you avoid? We reached out to business owners, managers, and CEOs with these questions and represented you by selected answers which inspired simple, straightforward advice.
CREATE A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS BEFORE THE COSY CULTURE The fact of the matter is: you cannot deliver good service from unhappy employees. Tighten is always not the solution. That is why having a great organizational culture can be a huge competitive advantage. But there is no point in worrying about which espresso machine your employees would like the most if your business cannot afford one.
YOU CAN SET ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AT THE BEGINNING, AND STICK TO IT After you’ve laid the foundation of successful business and hired the right people, it is time to choose: either you set ground rules and stick with them for the years to come, or you adapt as employees, time and trends change. The successful companies that usually opted for “everything-written-down” can easily approach to organizational culture. The company which is based around remote teams, they rely heavily on their cultural values to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
ADAPT ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AS YOU GO ALONG Some companies have determined their organizational culture at the very beginning - others, on the other hand, have shaped and have been developing their culture over extended periods of time Some of the small scale companies, tight-knit their office cultures due to so some norms due to small staff levels in the company. When a small scale business [ 17 ]
grows though, its small company culture can drastically meant to change into one that’s the bigger and more disparate concern from what it once was. For example, in a short company, employees may wear multiple different hats and generally communicate in an informal and frequent way – Language/Slangs. As an office to grows, it can be harder to communicate with higher amounts of employees when it increase, and the loyalty and commitment to the company can wane if employees begin to feel replaceable. Fortunately, you can take certain steps to ensure that your small-company culture continues even as your business flourishes.
IMPLEMENTING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE TAKES TIME Like the other process, the implementing organizational culture is a very slow and tedious task. However, it will reward you tenfold - if done properly. It took almost a year for Companies to grow the upper management to introduce their set of unspoken rules employees should follow. Benefits of Tighten culture:1. Work smart - work hard, but do believe in work life balance one always want their team to view work as an integral part of their being, not as the thing they have to do for 8 hours a day to fund the rest of their life. 2. Work as a team - Put all new hires into a dedicated slack channel during their on boarding process so they can experience the best culture, banter, and terrible jokes before they join. This way they can tell if our company suits them, and can tell if their attitude suits our company’s culture. 3. Enabler - All of the team members are autonomous, creative, and driven people. Owner’s job is to give them the structure and resources they need to achieve their goals. It roughly took 12 months of focused to the work to get this culture into place and a process for making sure new hires can fit in as seamlessly as possible. The result has been reduced employee turnover, a much more efficient development process. Throw an office party once a quarter. Orchestrate the party to take place either during office hours or after work, and pick a location that is easily accessible by your employees, such as at a nearby restaurant or public park. These type of party and gathering can allow employees to bond with each other on more personal level with one another, which can lead to improved their employee relations, morale and a more tightknit, small-company culture. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA

TIMES OF HARDSHIPS The technocrat says, “There were challenges and hurdles on the way, but I took them as my stepping stones and opportunity to learn and grow.” T.Tarkesh Rao started his journey in the year 2004 in Hyderabad and worked on web development and testing. Because of his passion in the IT field, he constantly tried to learn new things as he got his certification in Salesforce Cloud and Project Management from IIT – Delhi. With all this experience and knowledge in hand, he decided to start his venture, and in 2015 June he incepted Private Limited Company with one person company, and today the company has five full-time employees and ten freelancers working from various parts of the world. Providing a Promising Future
Captain Kamaljeet Singh Brar Founder & CMD Designmate (I) Pvt. Ltd
Vikas Jha | Business Connect E-learning is the future of education right now. Designmate is one of the best e-learning solution providers, grasping the future with both hands. Designmate is an innovative e-learning firm based in India, which has been engaged in creating 3D animated content for K12 Science and Mathematics curriculum for over a decade and half now. Backed by 25+ years of experience in animation and graphics, the company has brought alive around 4700+ Math and Science topics in 3D animated video version under the product name ‘Eureka.in’. The software caters to various national as well as international curriculums. Eureka has its global footprint over thirty countries in the world and over fifteen thousand schools. Eureka! Eureka.in has the distinction of being the largest 3D K12 school curriculum library with more than 4000 topics under its cover which sum up to over 300 hours of 3D animated content. These include various interesting learning objects like animated video, Interactive simulations, Virtual Labs, quizzes, key-terms, images etc. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
A strong workforce of 300 employees makes them one of the world’s biggest and oldest organizations, developing 3D educational content. Eureka acts as a visual teaching-learning resource both for a teacher as well a student. Under the flagship product Eureka, Designmate has developed the following products: Virtual Reality (VR) Virtual reality is being used in classrooms to enhance student learning and engagement. VR has transformed the way educational content is delivered; it works on the premise of creating a virtual world — real or imaginary — and allows users to interact with it. VR engages the learner better and makes learning more dynamic. Augmented Reality (AR) Designmate has created an AR app for books where conceptual images can be mapped with the interactive models/activity and videos. The app initializes the augmentation when the image in the book is scanned by the camera of the device. The 3D model gets augmented on top of the textbook, where the user can interact and have real time experience. [ 24 ]
Mono Under ‘Eureka.in Mono’, each topic comes with a set of multiple learning resources as one single package. These resources consist of 3D animated videos, 3D simulations, 3D interactive, quiz, images, text, web-links, glossary and key-terms etc. There is also a series of lab experiments which can be performed in real time virtual labs. 3D Stereo ‘Eureka.in 3D Stereo’ explains several topics using 3DS animated video, simulation and are interactive. The students can rotate the models 360 degrees as well as zoom in and zoom out at will. Thus the learning is acquired through action. Apps ‘Eureka.in apps’ offer an exciting and engaging platform to students for understanding complex concepts of Science and Mathematics on their hand-held devices like smart phones and tablets. These are available on ‘App store’, ‘Google Play’ and ‘Windows store’. Learning Management System ‘Eureka.in LMS’ software is an integrated learning platform that offers a combination of usability and personalized learning experience anytime, anywhere. It includes features like Dashboard, Analytics, Content list, Mindmap, Playlist, and many more. Classroom Management System ‘Eureka.in CMS’ software offers multiple ways for a teacher to bridge the gap between computer screen and those of the students while integrating relevant technology into everyday instruction. This unique software allows teachers to multitask and interact with them screen-to-screen as a group or one-on-one. It helps teachers to supervise students’ activity in real time, providing individual help as and when required. Vision and Goals Over the past few decades, the methodology of imparting education has undergone a substantial overhaul not only globally but across India as well. The realization that the conventional mode of teaching learning was unable to meet the challenges of a fast developing world compelled the educators and planners to rethink the strategy whereby education could do the greatest good to the greatest number. Designmate realized that the changing times were a golden opportunity to offer learners something new and exciting, something that would discourage rote learning and really live up to the principle of ‘learning by doing.’ If education has to really serve its purpose, it must rope in the latest tools of technology as its reach then will be far wider than what is today. Taking tiny but steady steps in its initial days in 2002, Designmate has reached a place where it is now fully equipped to incorporate the latest technology in making a world class educational product. [ 25 ]
Designmate’s vision was to make the company unique not simply by making a world class product but also by employing people who were differently abled and were in dire need of getting an employment. Our idea was to empower this weaker section of society by offering them the job opportunities and instilling in them a sense of self-worth and confidence. After overcoming numerous challenges, at present their differently abled workforce is capable of using advanced technologies as AR, VR and IOS with minimal support. Achievements and Awards The philanthropist organization of Designmate has been recognized for its valuable contribution to the society and its excellence in providing e-learning solutions, and has received many awards: • Best suppliers on 3D stereo based edtech content (with largest repository) across the globe • Recognition for Best iPad App of the Year 2018 which speaks for the Quality of Content • National Award for Best Employer in India (2006, 2013) • State Award for Best Employer, Gujrat (2006, 2010) • Best e-Learning Content, e-India (2011) • Bluedart Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Award (2013) • IDA Award for Excellence in Digital Content and Software in Education (2013) • National Award for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities (2006) • World Summit Award (2007) Future Plans and Focus The immersive experience in real-world dimensions (3rd dimension approach in all their content), and the possibility to include every kind of content, from electron-cloud to showing the galaxies is the company’s unique proposition. The approach of content is application-oriented and caters to the concepts in detail. Also, the interactivity in the content promotes active learning amongst students. The company’s focus on offering employment to the differently-abled is most significant. It provides an equal opportunity to these people to lead a meaningful life without compromising their self-respect and dignity as normal human beings. With a workforce of barely 70 handicapped employees in 2006, the company now has 200+ such employees on its rol’l which is 70% of the total workforce of the company. The prime focus of the company so far has been e-learning, but they intend to explore other pertinent areas as well. Conducting educational workshops, especially for teachers, in incorporating technology in classroom teaching is one area that has attracted the attention of Designmate. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA

EDUNGURU : Rendering Quality Education Through A Digital Platform Yashika Sabharwal | Business Connect The Education sector in India is ascending great heights due to the application of digital technology in the arena. In the present scenario, this amalgamation is of the utmost need for imparting quality education to students. Gone are the days, when children were wholly dependent on the traditional methods of teaching in the classroom. In the era of Internet, the educational domain has undergone a sea- change and a radical transformation. A number of e-learning service providers have created a canopy to help students in shaping a better future. One of them is Edunguru. Edunguru has brought an incredible revolution with its exemplary e-learning services. The organization is led by Romie Dutt, the Chief Executive Officer of this exceptional organization. INSIGHTS OF ITS OFFERINGS Edunguru envisions offering excellent quality education to students across the nation. The purpose of this organization is achieved with the help of a competent Governing Council, who represents the elite from the education industry. Edunguru has more than five hundred qualified, experienced and effective teachers in their Academic Excellence Board, and a group of toppers of various competitive exams in their Student Advisory Board. The organization has developed a behemoth of offerings in the educational arena; it offers three thousand and three hundred forty Courses, which includes K12 Level (CBSE plus ten Hindi Speaking State boards), Government Exams such as Banking, Railways, SSC, UPSC Civil Services, etc. Management Exams, Medical, Engineering and various other competitive Examinations via online medium such as the web portal and mobile applications, and offline (USBs /Hard drives) modes in two languages like Hindi and English, to reach up to 3 tier cities in India. The organization also provides Spoken English programs, to leverage the communication skills of students. The Company’s prime focus is to leverage the standards of education in the nation; hence, it uses dynamic and advanced methodologies to offer education. To make learning easy, understandable and enjoyable for the students, the core team of Edunguru has deeply analyzed the entire curriculum, and picked up the quintessential Learning Objectives for the students. The faculty delivers lectures www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
through Concept Based Methods. Each lecture is predefined with Interactive Class Sessions, Animations, Live Demonstrations, Diagrams, and Illustrations to enrich the learning experience. For adding the element of interactivity in the class, Edunguru has added questions and answers for the students. This helps in making the concepts clearer and provides an opportunity to self-evaluate. The Student’s foray into e-learning commences with an excellently explained video on a particular concept by the expert teacher in his or her domain, followed by Multiple Choice Questions to check whether the student has understood the concept along with Tutor Authored eBooks which consist of notes based on Video Lectures, Practice and Mock test papers for the students. Edunguru also assists each student with a host of services such as a telephone Call or a Video Call with the Teacher, privately or in a group, Live Webinar Sessions, EDUCHAT ROOMS with peers in the city, State or even at the National level, and a few more to be introduced soon such as Physical Doubt Clearing Classes by Visiting Faculties. PROMINENT REASON BEHIND THE ESTABLISHMENT The founder of Edunguru has a noble vision behind the establishment of this unbeatable organization. It is an unfortunate, but true fact that children in India are not attaining quality education due to a multitude of reasons. India has the largest and youngest population in the world with people between sixteen to forty years of age, and this group is capable of bringing about a positive and great change. The exemplar of a great vision states, “We have schools, colleges now in every state, but we can still see that a significant part of our population is not even getting the deserved basic education.” There were numerous reasons to establish Edunguru, like lack of School Infrastructure, Financial Challenges, Safety and Security of Children, but the foremost was the ‘Quality Of Education.’ To spread the dimensions of Edunguru to the Grass Root Level of Society, Romie Dutt envisaged the company. [ 28 ]
“At Edunguru, we are not just your superficial partners, but Partners throughout the students’ Educational Journey”
Romie Dutt
CEO, Edunguru
THE ROADBLOCKS The company underwent a host of obstacles in pedagogy, content and deliverables, but the greatest of them was selecting expert faculties and teachers for the Video Shoot, who had a clear understanding of their subject, especially the concepts, their delivery methods, approach, and above all, ensuring that they had a neutral accent, which could easily be understood by students in India. Moreover, training and enabling the faculties’ video shoot with no prior shooting experience, was a major challenge. Gradually, the company coped with all the challenges, and emerged as one of the best organizations in the genre. GOVERNMENT’S ROLE The government has successfully launched several programs under the initiatives such as ‘Digital India’ and ‘Skill India’ to spread digital literacy, create a knowledge-based society in India, and implement three principles ‘access, equity and quality’ of the Education Policy. The programs are: • e-Basta: provides school books in digital form • e-Education: all schools are connected with broadband and free Wi-Fi, and support MOOCs which is Massive Online Open Courses. • Nand Ghars: digital tools as teaching aids • SWAYAM: MOOCs based on curriculum taught in classrooms from ninth standard till post-graduation. • India Skills Online: learning portal for skill training. • In order to establish digital infrastructure, the government has also launched National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN), which aims to expand broadband connectivity and faster network.
ASTOUNDING MILESTONES AND FUTURE PLANS Since the company’s inception, it has carved its name in the list of some amazing and incredible achievements. It has more than forty thousand registrations, more than sixteen thousand paid users, eighty thousand plus mobile application downloads, more than twelve thousand Facebook likes, eight thousand plus Organic You tube Subscribers, etc. All these triumphs were achieved within the last nine months, and the best part is that all this happened without even a proper Pan India Launch or any advertising. Edunguru, in its first phase, has covered the ten states such as Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Delhi NCR. In addition, it had spread its dimensions to states like Assam, Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Chandigarh, Goa, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Nagaland. With India’s Biggest Employer, as their Strategic Sales and Marketing Partner, with a more than 3,00,000 Sales force, it is quite natural that by the end of 2019, EDUNGURU sees itself as the Leading Digital Education Provider in India, and who knows, The Leading in the World in the next 2 years! “The roadmap is crystal clear which aims to keep creating awareness, improving the product and helping more and more students to learn” ~Romie Dutt
The Indian government has pioneered this vertical, and is constantly supporting the e-learning domain. It is very encouraging to know that the Indian government is very interested in developing this vertical. [ 29 ]

The Difference Between Successful and Very Successful People It looks so catchy to me, and I posted the picture of the quote. After I posted it, a friend of mine commented: Explain, please. I saw it like• Very successful people say yes • When others say no and 2. (don’t take no for an answer) So I thought to explain on this buzzy topic and here it is:I understand it like, that once you reached a certain level in life, you’ve already been faced with lots of hard choices and decisions between good or great things. What I admire after referring to so many other articles and research on this topic that - One can’t get enough time or proper energy to say “YES” to everything in business. Everyone has to be very wise about focusing on their time, energy, enthusiasm, and optimism toward the Business things and life-related parameters that best advance your overall objectives.
“The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say ‘no’ to almost everything.”

[ 30 ]
The late Steve Jobs unsurprisingly explains that: - Steve Jobs Said ONE Thing Separates Successful People from Everyone Else (and that thing will make All the Differences in Your Life to be best for you) THE INFLUENTIAL MEANING BEHIND BUFFETT’S STATEMENT According to him, he meant saying ‘NO’ in the investment sense is not so important; but what is important is that his advice on this point, in whatever the context, is applying on anyone arriving at this stage of crossroads in daily decision-making needs to say N-O to their surrounding in any perspective. The most determined people want to accomplish things in a better way. They are always driven for results, in doing more, learning new and exciting things, getting promoted to bugger positions, and starting new ventures as capital. But one should never forget that fact - we also have our personal lives that we can’t ignore for optimum balance and happiness for ourselves. The good ambition of achieving can mean taking care of parentage and family priorities, expanding social circles, and pursuing hobbies (Giving Me time) and other interests according to personal needs. Buffett’s then advice on a bulls-eye for your conscience. He wanted to say that - we have to know what to shoot for simplifying our lives. It naturally means saying ‘NO’ tome to time and over again to the unimportant things like flying in our direction every day and remaining focused on saying yes to the few things which can easily be digested and that are truly matters. STEVE JOBS AGREED ON THE STATEMENTS AND ENLIGHTENED US:It’s about focus, Job Fatefully supported this notion of saying NO!! At a Conference in 1997 for Apple Worldwide Developers. Here’s a glimpse of what he said: “People always thinks of focusing, means saying always YES to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying N-O to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. Like we discuss Jobs and Buffett, we enlighten you by another author also - Jim Collins Seven things successful people say no to every day
Jim Collins, the best-selling and famous author of the “Good to Great”, once suggested his idea that instead of to-do lists, one should be focused on “stop-doing” lists in the business. Obsessing on to-do lists full of things that don’t really matter sometimes, and you spend less time saying yes to the things that do.
Here are a few things that most successful people say, which needs NO!!! On a regular basis: • Young Aspirants always say no to the opportunities and things whichW are not exciting them, they always try to speak with their values or further mission in life. • These people always said no to superficial networking and connections in events in which other people swap business cards to one another and never hear from each one of people after that. This happens because successful people don’t build a network like that, they always build relationships. • They always say no to spending time with uninspiring, critical, or negative people who drag them down. Time is a precious jewel that chooses a very small circle of people socially, who will help them to energize and wants you to be better. • They say no to overwork – Well this statement is very true, some successful people and many big entrepreneurs put in their strategies to work 60 to 80 hours per week. These successful people aren’t workaholics, who neglect self-care and family, they do recognize that if they cannot take care of themselves then everything else suffers for them. • They say no to do all the work all the time. This comes down to one word: DELEGATION.

or boosting a child’s individuality and intellect, an academic education has a pivotal role to play. It depends on school to school how they are imparting the knowledge and information to the students. If they are rendering via traditional and conventional methods, then a paramount shift or change is required for updating their processes. With a significant advancement in the digital technology, an education system has undergone a radical transformation. This incites schools and other educational institutes to encourage the electronic learning. To eradicate the convolutions whilst studying, and also offering an impeccable support to the students, beaucoup of E-Learning Solution Providers are oozing out in the educational domain so that the students can take manifold benefits of e-learning. Following the same notion, myCBSEguide serves as one of the best E-Learning Solution Providers to the CBSE students.

Consumer awareness and basic infrastructure are the two prominent factors for the growth and expansion of the company. myCBSEguide provides solutions to make life easier for teachers and students. Basant, Founder and CEO, of myCBSEguide says, “We have only grown over the years to today at 7 million registered users organically without any marketing spend. It speaks volumes about the trust that we enjoy with the student community”. Research and Development activities are quite essential as it embodies the overall process leading to innovation. “Tech innovation has to be way of life, no choice else you will be disrupted by someone else. You have to be different, innovative and quick to adopt the changes.” Says Vinod Pandey co-founder and CTO of myCBSEguide.
CROSSES IN THE EXCURSION
Without the convolutions and obscurities, there cannot be a notable growth of the company or an individual. There were a number of obstacles, the company had gone through during the initial days of commencement. The siblings, Basant and Vinod started myCBSEguide in the year 2007 to help school students located in a remote place in India (A & N Islands). The biggest challenge early days was to bring students online as most of them were depended on some offline guides and notes prepared in the classroom. Internet ecosystem was not evolved and [ 32 ]
In fact, India’s e-learning market is the second largest after the US which is forecasted to grow by 15.64 percent and is going to exceed $48 billion by 2020. E-learning is versatile segment consisting of a number of components. Their core area is assessment of learning. They are the only online platform that is specifically designed for CBSE students. The assessment tools that they provide, are based on CBSE question paper pattern and marking scheme. Whereas, other players have common learning videos and tutoring services. students didn’t have devices to access internet. Times have changed dramatically over the years. With 500M internet users today, reach has become relatively easier. As the project was initially started for the students within school, they helped the school students access the website in school computer lab with internet connection. Gradually, other schools also opted the same strategy. India is a well spread out country and the quality of school education is not same across India. There is shortage of quality teachers in many small cities and towns. Providing e-learning solutions over the internet helps in reaching out to even remote areas. This was the driving force behind setting up myCBSE guide. “Our focus is to make good quality content available to all the cities across the country” says Manju Magow, VP & Head Content Team of myCBSEguide.
E-LEARNING PLATFORM
According to a latest report, the Indian e-learning market size was USD247 million, and is expected to witness an 8 times growth to reach USD1.96 billion and the current user base will grow at 44 percent CAGR to 9.6 million users by 2021.
Government is promoting e-learning in schools and other educational institutes. KVS is providing tabs loaded with e-content to every student in their schools and building classrooms with smartboards and technical labs. Delhi government is also providing tabs to teachers and planning to distribute tablets to every student in the school. Henceforth, government is taking impressive initiatives to create an ecosystem for eLearning service providers. Undoubtedly, there is a fierce competition in the respective sphere. Many new players are entering into e-learning space. Some offline players are also trying to expand in e-learning segment. The competition is tough, but the opportunity is big for multiple players in the market.
GREAT ASPIRATIONS
There are great plans for future, the company has made in order to touch the heights of success. They are planning to launch Test Generator dashboard for teachers, schools and coaching centers. This will help them to create online quiz and conduct online tests for their students along with offline pen-paper tests. Homework help section is very popular among the students in the app. They are going to implement AI and ML tools to make it more attractive and user’s friendly. They are preparing online test series for entrance and competitive exams such as JEE (main), NEET-UG, CLAT, SSC CGL, Bank PO etc. and launching it soon.
As far as contribution to the Society is concerned, their focus was to develop the product for the students and the teachers. They are now planning to visit government schools for helping underprivileged students by providing them free study material, and encourage them for e-learning. [ 33 ]

This app is available on Android and iOS devices at the cost of $9 a month for corporate organisations and $5 a month for smaller businesses. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
GOOGLE DRIVE, SHEETS AND DOCS
Google has always found ways to provide top notch services for customers, at little or no price. With the Google Drive app, you can upload files and even organise them into folders. Although via the desktop site, you can access Google sheets and Google Docs (which are like Microsoft office tools), these tools come as separate apps on mobiles. You can organise your expenses, notes and plans, as well as draft reports on these apps and share them with clients or staff. These apps are available for free on smartphones.
HOOTSUITE
Social media is a must for many small businesses. Hootsuite is a social media managing platform which brings your channels together under one roof. The app lets you schedule your posts, report on your online presence, gather content and measure performance. Hootsuite has a free version, but the premium tiers have additional tools for managing and monitoring your social media efforts.
SKYPE
Another service that you’ll likely be well acquainted with, Skype’s specialist ‘for Business’ app is one of the major players in the communication app game. Take meetings and important business calls wherever you need to, while you can also share content during virtual meetings and initiate crystal-clear video, audio and/or instant message group conversations, ensuring that the communications side of your business is never compromised.
Other apps like Whatsapp, My Minutes (which notifies you if you’re wasting time on a ‘not so important’ task, like chatting) and even PayPal (for easy financial transactions) help you operate from anywhere. Therefore, start downloading those that help you meet your needs and those of your customers, whilst saving time and avoiding extra costs. [ 36 ]

HOW NOT TO GET
SCAMMED WHILE TRAVELING
ABROAD
Business Connect Team
Learn the tricks of the trade and avoid becoming prey An increasing number of tourists are becoming easy targets for the team of professional scammers and fraudsters. Business Connect shares some of the ways you can be tricked and how you can avoid them. Situation 1: You take a taxi to a hotel and the taxi driver puts off his meter saying either it is out of order or calling it as a holiday or making some other excuse. For a few minutes of travel, that would normally cost something around 2 to 5 euros, he charges a lot. Since you believed that he was a legitimate taxi driver you won’t argue, plus you are not used to

the local currency and didn’t do the math straight away, you paid the fee he was claiming. When you get back to the hotel and did the math or spoke to your hotel staff, you realize that you got scammed How to avoid: Do your Google map search to get a rough idea of the distance and fare. Talk to the locals before hiring a cab. Prefer using public transport. A good way to go ahead is to get the contact number of the hotel staff and talk to him directly. Situation 2: A person asks if you have dropped a ring and shows you the ring lying next to you. He also shows the hallmark. If you say no to the offer, he offers you to buy it at half the price as he is in real need for money. A lot of people get attracted towards the offer and end of buying thinking it’s a win-win situation. You walk a little and notice that the owner of the ring approaches you asking for the ring describing every detail of the ring and threatening to call the police for not handling the same. How to avoid: Do not buy expensive stuff from roadside buyers. Be mindful that your tourist tag is a center of attraction and thus, you should be careful. Situation 3: In this scam, a stranger approaches you in a friendly way and places a bracelet around your wrist and demands money. If you refuse to give it, they will begin to create a scene. People generally give money and avoid embarrassment. How to avoid: Never allow anyone to place anything on your body. If they insist, be firm and return their objects to them and walk away. Situation 4: This is again a very common and popular trick among scammers. Someone spills something on you. It may all look as if it was a mere accident. They may sound apologetic and offer to clean your stain. While all this event is on, someone from the team may be pickpocketing you. Before you realize, the damage has been done. How to avoid: If someone spills something and offers to clean, firmly ask them not to clean and that you can do it yourself. Take care of your belongings and step to a safer place to clean your stuff. Situation 5: Such scammers offer a heavy discount on designer clothes. You are lured by the discount and end up buying duplicate stuff rather than what you have chosen. The store packs it so quickly and packs it in a way that you don’t even realize that the packed item is duplicate stuff. How to avoid: To avoid this scam, remember that designer clothes are never offered cheap. Also, before leaving the store, ensure that you get the exact item you asked for. Situation 6: A stranger will approach you saying that something is on your back. You will notice that there’s actually something. While you take out your backpack, camera, etc. to clean the stuff, the thief will take your materials away before you notice. How to avoid: If someone tells you that you have something on your back, avoid such well-wishers and keep walking. When you find a safe place, remove the unwanted stuff. Situation 7: You will come across friendly strangers who often are very curious to interact with you saying that they are so keen to know more about your country. After a while, they’ll escort you to a nearby art or jewelry shop and insist you buy. You feel obligated to be nice to your new friend and end up paying for something which you could have avoided. How to avoid: Say thanks for the company and deny firmly saying you are not interested in purchasing as of now and walk away. Your mindfulness is what makes you smart. Be alert while you still enjoy the stay. [ 39 ]

e facto, there are numerous platforms or institutes to acquire linguistic proficiency in English or other foreign languages. But, to make the people of India skilled in the primordial language that is Sanskrit, there are limited institutes. Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation is bringing a layer of change by providing an in-depth knowledge of Sanskrit through technology. The Chief Executive Officer is Viswanathan P and COO is Venkatasubramanian P.
Vyoma is a non-profit organization, with a vision to develop ‘Saṁskṛta, Saṁskṛti and Saṁskāra’* (SSS) consciousness in every individual on this planet, which leads to real and ultimate happiness. To clarify further, *Saṁskṛta is not a mere transactional language, but a universal medicine and tool for the overall holistic wellness and development of an individual. It is a repository of knowledge, which can authenticate all aspects of wellness like Yoga, nutrition, Ayurveda, Astronomy, Vaastu, Meditation, Mindfulness, music, dance, art forms, etc. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
VENKATASUBRAMANIAN P, COO
*Saṁskṛti is not only limited to art forms. It embraces the entire gamut of rich cultures, which helps to develop holistic human capabilities. It is about understanding the logic and science behind our timeless tradition, and the ethos woven around the cultural fabric. *Saṁskāra does not cover only rituals and mythological stories. It also includes an understanding of the spirituality within each ritual. It encompasses value education and inherent lifelong virtues. The core vision is achieved through a combination of instructional designed e-learning tools, high impact courses, and thought-provoking and insightful lectures and discourses.
VYOMA OFFERS TOOLS, COURSES AND DISCOURSES FOR –

INCEPTION STORY
There are three parts to the inception story of this beautiful organization. The first part is called the ‘Value revolution’. During the post-independence era, India witnessed a revolution to fulfill the basic needs of ‘Food-Shelter-Clothing’. Various Government and Non-Government initiatives helped to fulfill this need to a great extent. This was followed by the agricultural, industrial and technological revolutions. The 21st century is witnessing the need for a unique revolution called – ‘Value & Cultural education’. Various organizations are working to fulfill this need. The founders of Vyoma wanted to fulfill this in a deep-rooted and wide-spread manner. Hence, Vyoma Linguistic Labs Foundation has been established to work in the areas of Samskrta (Ancient Knowledge System), Saṁskṛti (Culture & Heritage) and Saṁskāra (Values and Virtues), and to spread the valuable knowledge through the use of technology.
People are experiencing solutions to these problems in Yoga, Meditation, Spirituality, Ayurveda, Astrology, Ancient knowledge, Value education, and other avenues. Now, if we see the common master thread amongst all these – It is an ancient knowledge system called ‘SANSKRIT’. Sanskrit is not merely a language – it is a well-structured, most developed, and time-tested knowledge system. Hence, the founders of Vyoma labs, who come with a unique combination of rare traits like hailing from a traditional family, having rich academic qualifications, with deep knowledge of the ancient systems, which they have learned from the authentic sources, possessing a teaching experience of more than 25 years, and sharing an experience of running large projects in Multinational Corporate houses, decided to establish a non-profit organization to spread the benefits of Sanskrit to every individual on this earth.
The second part is called ‘The master platform’. If we see the world around us, people are affected by various problems at individual, social, national and international levels. Typical problems are lack of focus and concentration, memory loss, anger, greed, lust, ego, depression, suicide, stress, lack of values, physical and mental diseases, lack of purpose in life, atrocities against women and children, theft, corruption, terrorism, etc. [ 41 ]

Indic knowledge-based e-learning courses. The federated ecosystem consists of Academicians, Linguistic Scholars, Technology experts, Quality Assurance team Project management professionals, and animation experts.
SYNCHRONIZING WITH THE TRENDS
They are trying to keep ‘customer experience and learner’s delight at the heart of everything they do’. Hence, as the expectation of the customer changes – they also change according to the needs.
The third part is ‘What customer needs’. Sanskrit students and enthusiasts always want a learning experience, which is deep-rooted yet fun to learn, authentic yet available anytime- anywhere, rich in content yet affordable, has high quality content yet presented in an engaging manner. Vyoma Labs’ innovative pedagogy and instructional design are based on e-learning content, to fulfill all these needs of Sanskrit students, teachers and enthusiasts. Finally, if we see what would happen if organizations like Vyoma aren’t born, aren’t nurtured and sustained? – Off course, we would have a dearth of knowledge sources that serve as a repository of ancient knowledge. This accumulates the authentic, tacit, invaluable knowledge which is possessed by great scholars into a storage media, which can be accessed worldwide and by generations to come. This is true treasure-building. Vyoma’s vision on bringing the ancient knowledge systems (our śāstras) to the mainstream and making it context-relevant are the works of international and national importance. E.g.: Vyoma Labs want to create learning content so that a person studying hydrology can also study ancient knowledge regarding water sources and rain and apply the combined learning into research or solving problems for future generations.
SYNCHRONIZATION WITH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Vyoma Labs is into Sanskrit e-learning and requires involves multimedia tools such as audio, video, animations for authoring and LMS framework for presenting to students. By adopting a layered approach in all the areas, they could mitigate the risk of technological obsolescence and proceed with work. Cloud and web technologies have helped them to a large extent. For the company, the greatest challenge was to incorporate the language components into the technology, by people who knew Sanskrit and technology. Since this was not achievable at all times, they have done extensive R&D in this area, and they have adopted a federated ecosystem. The federated framework is an ecosystem of right skilled people, an external vendor system and governance to collaborate and work seamlessly to design and produce effective, engaging and Prayojanaṃ oriented Sanskrit/ www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 2 | Issue1 | August 2019 | INDIA
For example- they have different modes for their products. For kids, they have colorful books and various applications. For school children, they have authoring based products, which have games and activities. For midage professionals, they have webinars, MOOCs, YouTube sessions, etc. For elders, they have discourses with new insights. And, these are available even through CDs, Apps, in pen-drives, in web versions, as downloadable, like books, etc. In continuation of their main principle – ‘Tradition with technology’– they are trying to keep up with both ends of the spectrum.
UNFURLING THE FLAG OF ACHIEVEMENTS
Being the world’s first Non-profit company for structured Sanskrit e-learning, a few milestones are • 20+ engaging, effective, instructional designed e-learning tools • Over 15 engaging apps both in android and iOS • 110+nsightful & knowledge-filled, engaging courses • 12,000+ committed and happy learners • 1,20,000 + e-learning man hours • Focused US Seva tour – with 50+ events in 38 days, outreach to more than 2500 people across 9 states • Largest repository in the world for structured Sanskrit e-learning content Above all - Being the ‘thought leader and implementation leader’ in this segment, and motivating a multitude of individuals, groups, organizations to venture into this field of Spreading Sanskrit through e-learning
ASTOUNDING FUTURE PLANS

Targeted to enthrall, not enthuse
Certain writers try to pack their writing with literary phrases. Writers who write about their travel are aimed to entertain people rather than impress them.
Show and tell
Showing and telling is a storytelling technique we use in our daily lives without even realizing. Showing means to pen down your writing and describe every thing in detail including the things you saw, tasted , heard , felt. You are making everyone live that moment again. Telling means to simply move the story along. To earn more, you must write perfectly using these both.
Entail Dialouge
Dialouge brings life to the scenes and brings the things in personality. Include dialogues to the writing to bring more lively effect to your writing.
Excise your savoir- flair
Stories have vivid time, place and other things. Generally, the travel writers write approx 1000 to 1200 words article. Stick to that and make it entertaining.
Have A Crystal Storyline
A trip is not a trip. It’s a sequence of events that took place. Not each and every event is meant to tell and show. Some events are good and some are not. Being a writer, your first responsibility is to edit those events in your mind and make a clear storyline. The utmost task of the writer is to select those particular events in his mind and tell the story to the world.
Assent Signpost
Readers travel through the writer’s story to the world. Always try to leave signpost at the new place you visit because you are not the only one who is travelling, readers are also travelling with you.
Primeval Paragraph Should Be Outstanding
To start your article, you can use drama or humour or dialogue. But your first paragraph must be glued and expressive
The travel writers seeks the world we have lost – the lost valleys of the imagination [ 45 ]
