The coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown in India was not just a public health crisis but it is also an economic crisis — taking away the livelihoods of migrant workers, daily labourers and exposing vulnerable people like sanitation workers to the dangers of infection. 2020 tested the resilience of individuals, businesses, industries, and countries, as a whole. Looking back, there have been many predictions for 2020 in the distinct industries. The year with downfalls has allowed the world to learn the lesson of survival. To combat the lack of food supplies and loss of income, various brands, NGOs and individuals have come in the front across the country to work with these vulnerable groups. While our essential and healthcare workers emerged as true heroes, there have been unsung heroes who helped people with food, medicines and different other facilities. With this special edition, Business Connect Magazine introduces a unique brand storyKuber Group. A multi-diversified conglomerate, Kuber Group has emerged as a shining star among them. Incepted in 1985, Kuber Group is a multi-diversified conglomerate. Success Story

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers & Family – Chairperson of L’Oréal

Hello, Business Connect Magazine Readers, once again, we are here with another amazing story. The story of the world’s richest woman Françoise Bettencourt Meyers and her family. Françoise’s family established the most iconic cosmetic brand that we all are very familiar with L’Oréal. The brand remains no 1 in the beauty industry.

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers – Non-executive Chairwoman and owner. Françoise Bettencourt Meyers is the granddaughter of the founder of L’Oréal, a French Billionaire heiress, and one of the richest women on the planet. She is the author of several Bible commentaries and works on Jewish-Christen relations.

As of 2021, Françoise Bettencourt Meyers net worth is more than $92 B.

HER EARLY LIFE AND CAREERS

Françoise Bettencourt Meyers is the only daughter of late Lilian Bettencourt, who died as the 14th richest person on the planet. Her mother was the main shareholder of the world’s iconic cosmetic brand L’Oréal. The Bettencourt family were well known in French society for their glamorous and exclusive parties, Time reported. However, Françoise Bettencourt Meyers never indulged in those lifestyles. She preferred staying in to play the piano or write, in 2017 reported by Vanity Fari’s Tom Sancton. Lillian Bettencourt had a net worth of around $44.3B. Upon her inheritance of her mother’s fortune, Francoise became the richest woman alive on the planet. Today, her family still owns a 33% stake in L’Oréal. Francoise is well-known for her spiritual side. She has written literature on Greek Mythology and Jewish Christian relations, Catholicism and Judaism, The Tribe of Israel, and the family tree of Adam and Eve. Françoise Bettencourt Meyers has served on L’Oréal’s board since 1997 and is chairwoman of the iconic cosmetic brand. In 2008, Francoise Marie Banier (Photographer) was accused of extorting $1.5 billion of Gifts from Lilian. In 2008, Bettencourt Meyers sued Marie Banier for that. According to her, Lillian Bettencourt was mentally incompetent. Banier had exploited her emotional vulnerability to trick her into giving him money and expensive gifts. In 2010, she announced that she had settled out of court with both her mother and Banier. ABOUT L’ORÉAL. L’Oréal S.A. is a French-based beauty brand company headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine with a registered office in Paris. The brand began with hair dye but moved into hair styling products, beauty products, and makeup over the decades until they had six research centres throughout the world. This cosmetic brand was founded by a young chemist called Eugene Schneller in 1909 and now has an annual revenue of 29.87 billion euros. L’Oréal is one of the few cosmetic companies to retail in hair and beauty salons as well as drug stores and supermarkets. HISTORY In the early 20the century, French pharmacist Eugène Paul Louis Schueller developed a hair dye formula Oréale, which he then decided to sell to Parisian hairdressers. In 1919, He registered his company, the Société Françoise de Teintures Inoffensive pour Cheveux (Safe Hair Dye Company of France). The company started with three chemists. Today they have roughly 88,000 employees. Eugène Paul Louis Schueller was Nazi sympathizers. L’Oréal founder financially supported a Nazi-linked fascist group during World War 2. Eugène Schueller was of German descent, which might suggest why he was sympathetic to the Nazi Linked fascist group called La Cagoule. The group is known as a violent French fascist-leaning and anti-communist. It was L’Oréal’s founder who was paying them for the firearms along with the founder of car manufacturer Renault. The group performed many violent activities (ProNazi activities), including bombing synagogues and fighting the French resistance.

Liliane Bettencourt was a second-generation owner of L’Oréal.

Liliane Bettencourt was the daughter of L’Oréal founder and the majority shareholder. Lilian was the only child of Louise Madeline and Schueller who joined her father’s company at the age of 15 as an apprentice, mixing cosmetics and labelling bottles and shampoo. After her father died, she inherited the L’Oréal fortune and led the company, becoming a majority stakeholder of L’Oréal. In 1963, the company went public, although she continued to own a majority of the stake. In 1974, in fear that the company would be nationalized after the fresh election, Lillian exchanged almost half of her stake for a 3% stake in Nestlé. As of Dec 2012, she had 30.5% of the outstanding shares of L’Oréal. In Sep 2017, at the age of 95, she passed away as the richest woman on the earth. 19

Design Makers

Where creativity, innovation and integrity are the prerequisites Indranil Roy | Business Connect

I

n a virtual interview session with the key officials of Design Makers — Megha Satish(Co-Founder & Creative Director) and Abdul Rahiman(Co-Founder & CEO), Business Connect discussed the start-up’s business portfolio, vision, mission and a lot more. So, let’s walk through this exclusive ‘read’ featuring the inspirational story of this 2-year-old venture.

COMPANY PROFILE

Design Makers — a Bangalore based start-up began its entrepreneurial journey with a belief that ‘design is intelligence made visible’. The company’s goals are not just focused on creating designs for the brands, but also reflect the emotions expressed by them. It offers a range of wide problem-solving solutions where each design is unique that has been customized as per the client’s brand. Their services include — brand identity, packaging, signage and wayfinding design, industrial design, and much more. While harnessing the power of innovation, imagination, and ingenuity, Design Makers allows effortless synchrony between ideation and problem-solving. Today, within a short period, this start-up has bagged multiple projects in 11 countries targeting 13 sectors. Highlighting their approach to end-to-end solutions to address the pain points for the clients, Abdul explains, “When we approach any design agency office, we are always treated as clients or a source to make money out of. Do they confuse us by saying jargon like Identity, Pantone, Grip?. The hustle-bustle, the glamour, the schedules make us feel alienated. The idea with Design Makers is to keep it simple. Talk to them as people, share their stories and experiences and translate them into the essence of brands they are building!” Moreover, their “Discovery Session” is the core of their design process where they sit down with the leaders and get to know about their goals and visions, and how they wish to approach their target group. “Having an analytical discussion like this creates moments where we are aligning their ideologies with our design thinking approach and work towards their success,” adds Megha.

A GLANCE OVER VISION AND MISSION

The company was ideated with the vision to carve an ecosystem for the makers(i.e. designers) or creatives to discover, learn, collaborate, innovate, and grow as a community to voice and

www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition January 2022 INDIA

Abdul Rahiman Co-Founder & CEO

promote their ideas as well as stories across the targeted channels. And the mission statement goes as — Designed by humans, for humans. Their mission was established on the fact that humans are the most creative beings who have immense potential to evolve this world into a better place.

THOUGHTS ON THE ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM Both the co-founders claim that earlier business was considered a scary term because of the innumerable risks related to money, problems, stress, and other issues. But ever since they entered this space, both the leaders have acknowledged the beauty of the entrepreneurial debut.

“Yes it does have its pros and cons but the challenge is what drives you to wake up each day and keep hustling,” states the duo. 20

To them, the most amazing transformation is witnessing the younger generation taking responsibilities and ownership in the direction of value generation driven by their passions while standing firm on their grounds. Both of them are fascinated by the disruptions across the entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovations that are taking every industry by storm. Megha and Abdul also assert the need for self-discipline to make any business a major success. Though business is a bumpy road to take, be it any age— selfmotivated and enthusiastic attitude can help one build an empire even from scratch, they say. It is basically the experience we attain that helps majorly in building a successful business, affirms Abdul.

THE ROLE OF R&D

Beyond any doubt, R&D plays a vital role in the success of any company irrespective of its targeted industry. For making a difference in any area, R&D is crucial otherwise, the enterprises end up being outdated and stagnant and soon lose their identity. Acknowledging this fact, Design Makers is intensely focussed on its R&D processes to create seamless workflows establishing connectivity and team building within various departments. “We work on activities that encourage creative and intuitive thinking for all departments and not just the design. We work very closely to understand the problems of the clients and implement creative problem-solving solutions that are researched and developed to solve problems that are unique to each business,” quotes Megha about their R&D procedures.

ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP STYLE

For a business to reach greater heights, insightful leadership is a must to have a factor. And this is absolutely true in the case of Design Makers. Valuable Tips to Avoid Computer Vision Syndrome

To prevent infection from the coronavirus, during the pandemic, people from all sections including business, education, sports, TV, media spent the majority of their time at home. With the work-from-home cultures developing nowadays, in all spheres, people are spending an increasing amount of time on their computer, laptop, tablet, or cell phone. Many that do not work from home but are required to sit at home due to Corona spend the bulk of their time gazing at a phone or television screen. People can encounter problems such as burning or itching in their eyes as a result of this. This affects not only adults and older people, but also children who spend time on tablets or use laptops for school-related activities. According to recent reports, Computer vision syndrome is an eye condition caused by spending long periods in front of a laptop, television, or computer. Because of the corona infection, everyone is at home, and the problem with the eyes has been getting worse in recent months. Otherwise, vision problems can grow if care is not received promptly.

Symptoms of the Syndrome

Over some time, repeated computer usage affects the eyes. While there is no evidence of this at this time, working on a computer screen for 8 to 10 hours a day puts a lot of strain on the eyes, which can cause pain and lead to computer vision syndrome. The following are signs and symptoms of this: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

“Computer Vision Syndrome affects 60 million people worldwide. Computer vision syndrome or digital eye strain causes burning and prickling in the eyes, as well as dryness, heaviness, redness, and trouble holding the eyes open for long periods”.

Doctors agree that people nowadays spend the majority of their time on a computer or laptop for 12 hours. When you read a book, you can get up and go anywhere you want in 30 to 40 minutes, but you can’t do that when working on a computer. For hours, people do not get up. The term “computer vision syndrome” was coined as a result of this. Dry eyes, swollen eyes, watery eyes, and muscle fatigue are all signs of this.

Here are few suggestions for keeping your eyes safe when operating on a tablet or laptop. •

The computer screen should be located directly in front of or just below the eyes. The computer should not be put directly in front of the eyes. The higher the screen is above the eyes, the greater the focus on the eyes would be.

Antiglare lenses should always be used while operating on a regular monitor or laptop. Antiglare lenses should be used in the frames of those who wear them. Those that do not have glasses should wear plain antiglare glasses. Antiglare glass can also be used on the computer screen.

Every storm hour requires a break, and the eyes should be quickly washed 5 to 10 times to ensure that water enters all regions of the eye and maintains the eyes moist.

If you have an issue with your eyes, see a doctor right away to get medication, so you don’t get a potentially dangerous disease. Perform these eye exercises. • • • •

Do stretching exercises as well as eye exercises. It’s important to keep in mind that the air from the Air Conditioner (AC) should not be directed directly into your eyes. Protect your eyes from some kind of bright light; if there is clear light from a lamp or tube light on the screen; avoid it as it will damage your eyes. When operating on a computer or laptop some people turn off the light. This should not be done. While working on the screen, adequate lighting is needed.

Methods of protection 1.

Visit the doctor if any symptoms remain.

2.

Just wear glasses while working. Wear blue contact lenses or buy a pair of blue-blocking glasses. Do not use your computer, television, or phone in the dark.

3. 4. 5.

Keep your desktop, laptop, and phone at least one and a half feet away from your eyes. Apply eye drops to your eyes if they are dry.

6.

Take regular breaks when working on the computer or laptop. Remove your eyes from the screen after a half-hour break, shut your eyes, and sit for 1-2 minutes to relax your eyes.

7.

Eating Green vegetables (which are high in vitamin A) will help you maintain good eye health. The antioxidant and antiinflammatory effects of the nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin found in green leafy vegetables protect our eyes.

Jeevitam

Listen in: Livelihood seekers and providers now have a solution Gulshan Parveen | Business Connect

Vikas Jain, business partners prior to Jeevitam, got the idea from one of their earlier ventures which actually provided them with the fuel and the idea for Jeevitam. They saw the huge gap that existed in the blue/grey/ white collar livelihood segment and so it was a natural segue to Jeevitam in a sense and after a lot of brainstorming and ideating, the 3 came together and decided to start a venture that would be India’s go-to platform for livelihood. An engineer by qualification, Sridhar worked in Google and ICICI among other corporates before venturing on his own. The cofounders and partners, Munish Chawla and Vikas Jain, also brought their years of experience having worked with ICICI and Citibank and other leading companies. The name Jeevitam in Sanskrit means life and what better name to welcome the millions from the unorganised sector to join the workforce that could transform their lives! Jeevitam has only one focus: to redefine the perception of people towards employment and sustainable livelihood. “During our discussions with our friends and network we realised that hiring people for jobs from the unorganised sector in the informal category was difficult. There seemed to be no formal platform that we could go to, to hire people, quickly and easily,” Says Sridhar.

SINGLE-MINDED FOCUS AND BELIEF

Be it their team, their clients, or their stakeholders, everyone believes in Jeevitam’s vision. What is their vision? It’s simple yet powerful: to be the Google of livelihood, the Amazon of earning. Every initiative, hire or product development decision is driven by this one vision and propelled by one simple question: will this decision move Jeevitam closer to its stated objectives? While Jeevitam hires from India’s premier institutes such as IIMs and IITs, the underlying decision-making question is, do these young aspirants have the belief, and the fire in their belly to go out and change the world with, by and for Jeevitam? Because at Jeevitam, focus and faith are integral to what they do as a team.

JEEVITAM IS DIFFERENT FOR SEVERAL REASONS

Firstly, Jeevitam is an audio-technology driven solution that is available to Indians in 21 Indian languages. The sector that Jeevitam has been designed for does not necessarily have 5G bandwidth or expensive smartphones like the millions residing in urban cities in India. Jeevitam provides easy access without going through an App Store, downloading an app, and trying to understand what to do next. While Jeevitam does have an app, its easy registration process through simple step-by-step instructions that one can hear in the language of their choice makes it convenient, real and lowers the barrier for work seekers. Secondly, work providers find Jeevitam to be the perfect bridge, solving for hire, today. With the Artificial Intelligence data algorithms, organisations seeking to recruit are able to get matched profiles that are curated, validated and relevant. For organisations seeking to hire large numbers, Jeevitam is its 34

MILESTONES AND ACCOLADES

Vikas Jain

COO & Co Founder foot solider on the ground, with deep outreach and proves to be a cost-effective and time-saving solution, since sourcing profiles from a rich 16 million database is far more effective than outsourcing to staffing agencies. Jeevitam partners with a large number of CSR arms of organisations and works with them to provide young, skilled but inexperienced people, suitable work opportunities. A large portfolio of clients in Banking, Finance, Insurance and startups, just goes to show that if you go where the opportunities lie and providing a solution, people will adapt and adopt. The culture of a company shapes the organisation. A sensitive, empathetic and people-centric work culture always helps any organisation stay the course and achieve tremendous success. Jeevitam believes in this precept and encourages independent thinking, decision-making and team spirit. “We do not curb ideas from whichever quarter it comes, and no idea is small. Even if it’s as simple as creating a Google Form, or ideas on tech and product improvement, every team member has the freedom to make suggestions,” adds Shridhar.

STARTUP CHALLENGES IN COVID TIMES

Covid-19 has disrupted normal life as we know it. Organisations have been compelled to rewrite the rules of work overnight. However, for startups like Jeevitam, this is just one more challenge that is part of the ongoing journey. Keeping your team motivated and working remotely, meant that

Jeevitam works with several CSR departments of large companies such as IBM SkillsBuild or Deshpande Foundation. When you reflect upon what Jeevitam is trying to do, you realise that Jeevitam can in fact be considered a social impact cause, as it deals with one of the most basic things required for the wellbeing of human lives – livelihood. For more than a year now, Jeevitam has been conducting Virtual Work Fairs addressing different sectors including Startups, MSMEs, BFSI, Rural, and women empowerment which are 100% free for work seekers as there is zero registration cost and no hidden commissions, and the same holds true for companies leveraging Jeevitam’s platform to serve their hiring needs. With more than 30,000 calls per day, and as many as 18,000 pin codes covered in India, Jeevitam has helped provide gainful employment to thousands in the last 8-9 months.

Munish Chawla

CBO & Co Founder the utilisation of digital enablers for collaboration and communication was optimised, which also led to a lot of bonding and camaraderie beyond just work-related discussions and meetings. Fun Fridays over calls, homedelivered pizzas and biryanis, birthday celebrations over Zoom, surprise games and laughter, besides the regular dayto-day operations have ensured that Jeevitam’s family of employees continue to remain inspired and committed to their goals. Also, when any of the team members or their respective family members were diagnosed with Covid-19, Jeevitam focused on the wellbeing of the employee and did not institute salary cuts or leave cuts, which only brought everyone closer together and instilled a sense of kinship. “Challenges are part and parcel of life and it’s no different in the life of a start-up and its team” Adds Sridhar. There will always be Catch-22 questions such as— revenue growth vs marketing budgets, hiring vs investment in technology and so on. And though decision-making is hard, it is easy when you’re guided by your unshakeable belief in the founding principle of the company. All the founders of Jeevitam are unwavering in their mission which propels them to make sometimes difficult decisions, prioritising different aspects as required. “I do believe that entrepreneurship is a team sport and being decisive, assertive and yet taking people along with decisions is what has helped Jeevitam grow and establish itself as India’s premier livelihoods solutions platform,” commented Sridhar. 35

It is no surprise that Jeevitam is being hailed as the Tech Startup of the Year, given its path-breaking idea and its mission to achieve #MissionLivelihoodforAll. This has been vindicated by the several accolades that have recognised Jeevitam’s goal including being declared as the “Emerging Company of the Year 2021” award by Indian Achievers Forum, and winning the Silver for Tech Startup of the Year 2021 at the internationally acclaimed Stevie awards, beating over 2000 applicants. Today, more than ever, the question of livelihood and meaningful work is the moot question for everyone as we all grapple with the future of work in an unpredictable and volatile world. But Jeevitam seems relentless in its mission to change the conversation around livelihood and make it available for all. “For each of us, our paths are different. Perhaps the one binding factor for most entrepreneurs is the belief in their idea and the faith to see it through. If you’re setting out to be an entrepreneur, remember it’s lonely and hard. Be pragmatic, and don’t feel ashamed of failing, but at the same time, like Steve Jobs said, stay hungry and stay foolish.” -Sridhar Seshadri, Founder and CEO

CORPORATE SERVICES Creating jobs for Rural Youth Indranil Roy | Business Connect

DILEEP M Director

I

f we can train rural youth and make them ready for jobs, instead of being a drain on resources, large numbers of young people will bring social transformation and economic progress. Rural youth assist in resolving the global food issue if we invest in them. If rural youth have jobs, it slows down urban migration and decreases the physical and social strain on cities. An educated and trained youth might boost agricultural development outcomes. But for all these, we need to understand what opportunities do young people have and how can they improve the agricultural and agri-business sectors? What are the rural youth non-agricultural opportunities? How can incentives and ambitions of young people be matched with these broad aims for development? Dileep M, the director of Right Track Corporate Services, emphasizes the significance of helping rural youth to increase demand for labor and services.

“Young people are critical to the growth of rural regions. Trying to engage rural youngsters in economic pursuits would assist India in reaping the demographic dividend.” quotes Dileep. www.businessconnectindia.in | Vol. 4 | Special Edition January 2022 INDIA

WHY FOCUS ON RURAL ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES?

A huge number of jobless young people in developing nations are living in abject poverty, unable to provide for their homes and with bleak prospects for the future. This group of sometimes well-educated, dissatisfied people contributes to global political instability. A large number of younger people, on the other hand, can provide inventive, adaptable, and productive employees that lead to better economic growth and development. The nature and implications of crises and opportunities differ in rural regions from those in metropolitan settings.

The founder quotes “ In a Sense, there are lots of opportunities in Soft services and facility management projects like property Management, and with respect Contract labor verticals” He believes that nations must make a fairly fast decision: provide job possibilities, particularly in rural regions, and reap the demographic rewards of a young, energetic population, or risk social discontent and civil unrest associated with high rates of youth poverty. According to him rural communities are struggling to create opportunities for their youngsters and are losing them. This has far-reaching 38

implications at the regional, state, and national levels. It has the potential to undermine economic systems, social stability, and human health.

Dileep steers “ Team of Right Track has attended over 1000 job fairs and gathered a large candidate database. Right Track Corporate Services’ USP is its massive workforce database. So, when a customer contacts Right Track Corporate Services for recruiting services, they rarely waste time and deliver a solution far ahead of schedule. They have built a name not via marketing, but through effective business practices.” THE INSIDE STORY

Right Track Corporate Service was founded in 2012 in Bangalore by Dileep M, who set out to assist rural youngsters in finding work. Dileep felt the anguish of financial problems long ago in his career, throughout his college days. Dileep worked in high-level corporate roles before quitting them because he was committed to assisting the country’s jobless youth in obtaining proper and acceptable employment.

eager to learn. As people stay at home and work, the availability of local opportunities allows them to save more money. Our staff has shown a great deal of enthusiasm for their jobs.

“I believe that all of these give us greater cause to work towards the upliftment of rural youth.. Yes, this is hard and requires willpower to dedicate your life towards such a fantastic cause.” quotes the founder. MEET THE FOUNDER- AN ORDINARY MAN WITH EXTRAORDINARY DREAMS

I am an ordinary guy with extraordinary dreams, aspiring to build an inclusive community, says Dileep. He was born in a small town near Hassan, Karnataka, spent a large part of his formative years where English medium schools were non-existent, and basic city benefits like electricity and infrastructure were a blessing.

“It is still considered a privilege at my birthplace for kids to be gifted with bicycles, smartphones, iPad and laptop, to support their learning,” says he. He continues, “ as a kid, I was told that only three professions existed, engineer, doctor or civil services, anything else was not valuable enough to pursue. Yet I dreamt to be different and aspired to become an actor, without support from my family and landed up in Bangalore to explore my options in theatre. Coming from a farmer family, I had to first work to sponsor my dreams. 17 years old, started working as a Housekeeping boy. My family didn’t have much money to afford good institute study so I had to work as a Housekeeping boy & as a security guard. I completed my post-graduation and started working in an MNC company in the Human Resources function. It was this humble beginning that forced me to think beyond how I could help the rural youths to earn and simultaneously complete their education in cities. My noble philosophies pushed me harder to build a successful career and start my own venture. That is how Right Track Corporate Services was born because I decided to wade through the mud. With an initial capital of Rs. 2 lakh, from my savings and with the unrelenting support of my wife Keerthi, we took the risk and ventured into creating employment opportunities for our rural youth. The unemployment rate of Karnataka is approximately 26.3, of which 8.3% are high school and college dropouts.”

The founder believes that more corporates should join as social entrepreneurs as it gives immense joy to bring about a difference in the life of people and being a change element for your nation.

He quotes, “If you want to make a difference in your community, here is the place to be. The job is difficult, but as you progress down the path, you will meet a slew of like-minded individuals who will gladly assist you. The joy of making a difference and gaining the goodwill of many people makes it all worthwhile!” At the end of our conversation, Dileep shares a message for young people working hard to build a successful future. Work hard, since success does not come easily. It’s a long and steep climb to your vision, but only you can see it, so don’t be too hard on yourself. When you start climbing, you’ll quickly discover you’re on a never-ending journey. Rather than aiming for perfection, strive for continuous progress.

Dileep thinks that young people in rural regions confront more problems than their urban counterparts as a broad population category. He says that reduced education and physical resources, very few employment options, bigger and more powerful cultural differences around age and gender, relatively low availability to transportation systems and computer technology, decreased access to health services in general and relatively weak market segments are a few of the factors that pull the rural youth down. But he says that the youngsters in rural areas are extremely motivated and gifted. It’s all in preparation. Skilling takes longer to develop, but once they are up to speed, there is no going back for them. There are plenty of good folks who are 39

Education

Education Has Put off Physical Classrooms and Shifted to Online Classes The best days were when schools and colleges were open and students were seen rushing to school in neat and tidy uniforms with bags in their shoulders and sometimes running with those heavy bags to not get late. After reaching school, to stand for morning prayers and then some physical activities, after that straight to the classrooms filled with our classmates. The same way for college, when students were always confused with what to wear today, what period to bunk and go to the canteen, etc. Those days now seem to be just a memory to cherish. An education center is the best public policy tool available to raise skills. While school/ college time can be fun along with raising social skills and social awareness if we look from an economic point of view the primary point of being in school/college was that it helped in increasing a child’s ability. But the arrival of COVID-19 has led to the departure of students going to education centers. Well! we say a coin has its two sides, the same way this too has both good and bad impressions but let’s just go for a positive version because 2020 has brought us enough negative things. Whatever the condition comes, one should never stop learning, and if one way of going to an educational center is closed than open another way of e-learning. The arrival of Covid-19 has forced schools and universities across the world to put off physical classrooms and shifted to online classes. While the faculty deals with the new ways of managing this sudden transition to online education, students are left clinging on to their mobile phones and computer screens.

FUTURE EDUCATION SYSTEM

email. For India, this seems to be a good opportunity to strengthen internet connectivity across rural India. It will help every village and town to be digitally connected for the better interaction between the students and teachers. When it comes to the students some are quick at adapting this system and some take a little longer time to acquaint with this system. Fundamental structural changes should be made in the curriculum/syllabi and programs should be a part of the curriculum in engineering and science degree programs. This will help in creating future entrepreneurs and this can be one way to help beat unemployment and increase business skills amongst the youth. The business community should play a foremost role in this new educational system. Higher education in India needs to be more international but more locally connected and socially responsible, more flexible(curriculum), should be innovative and open for more collaboration. Innovative models should be introduced, Universities/institutes could be online that would provide internet-based flexible offerings.

The Post Covid-19 is an opportunity we look forward to transforming the higher education system. Institutes/ Universities should definitely utilize this opportunity to transform itself. the focus should be more on internationalizing higher education as today we are facing Covid-19 but no one knows what lies ahead in the future for millions of youngsters. 48
