Among the trove, the COVID-19 outbreak has been the most dreaded, as a viral outbreak of this trajectory is not seen in the last 100 years. The virus created substantial turbulence, therefore inducing Country-wide lockdowns, joblessness and social isolations, etc. severely affecting every nation’s economy. IMPACTS OF THE LOCKDOWN

According to Nandan, the company’s biggest dilemma once the country-wide lockdown was announced was logistics. Logistics is an important part of the business module as Hulladek heavily depends on the collection and channelization of electronic waste from producers to recyclers. Hence, a complete lockdown meant that this movement of electronic and electrical waste would be put on hold until further notice. Moreover, they had a number of pan-India pick-ups for a few corporates lined up for the month of March which would have helped them reach their yearly targets. Business operations were brought to a sudden halt once the lockdown was announced. As a result, • Orders were put on hold for an indefinite period of time. • Payments that were to be received were delayed. • Unavailability of vehicles for pick-ups. • Unavailability of labours for pick-ups. • Delay in the certification from their end They had to suspend their operations in most of the cities during the lockdown. However, to stay connected with their target audience, they focused their efforts on digital platforms such as social media marketing, email marketing and webinars. The basic idea was to stay in touch with the existing and potential customers. They engaged the audience through interactive creatives on their social media handles such as Instagram and Facebook and through regular newsletters to their client base. They also conducted several webinars for students and professionals to create awareness about e-waste and the importance of recycling.

KEEPING UP THE PACE

Once the lockdown was partially lifted, Hulladek introduced a No-Contact Pick-Up Service. They provide door-to-door pick-up services from households and business houses. Owing to the pandemic, many of the clients and customers were not comfortable with Hulladek executives coming and collecting their e-waste. Therefore, a No-Contact Pick-Up Service was designed to ensure that there is minimum or no contact between the logistics crew and the clients while conducting the pick-up. The crew members were given all the necessary safety equipment such as masks, gloves and helmets. 35

They also launched another service in association with AdmyBin. They started providing sanitization services for residential complexes, factories, warehouses and offices. The sanitization process uses a hard surface cleaner and disinfectant known as Alstasan II 256. Since the majority of their work depends on channelization of e-waste from consumers to recyclers, the logistics crew play a significant role in the company. During the lockdown the activities of the logistics executives were indefinitely suspended. However, it was imperative for them to retain the team and they considered this as a long-term investment. GROUND REALITY OF FARMERS Mr. Parshottambhai K. Ghevariya, the founder of Krishi Bio Science, believes that it is not just the money that motivates the farmers to work with them. His idea has become more than just a business over the years. Extension educators from the Upper Junagadh conducted a project to explore what makes the beginning of farming successful. The project consisted of a series of eight interviews with farmers of different types and sizes of lands across the region. Participants had from one to fifteen years of farming experience. Two Upper Junagadh organizations that purchased local farm products and sold them retail to the public were also interviewed. Funding for travel was provided by the Junagadh SARE Professional Development Program. The project was designed and conducted following the guidelines of the State Agriculture Universities Gujarat. Goals of the project were to gain better understanding of how farming has impacted newer operators in the areas of economics, family relationships, community involvement and general lifestyle. After gathering input from the farmers and organizations, responses were summarized and common themes were identified.

From organizing fifty people to a large audience of fifty-thousand: Studio 69 has been there, done that. 2: Rated the best in sound and production, Studio 69 moved on to becoming a complete package of booking artists and taking care of the technicalities and logistics. This led to the emergence of Entertainment Management And Promotional Consultants, a one-stop shop for all kinds of Celebrity Management. 3: From Studio 69, the company graduated to Entertainment Management and Promotional Consultants, and then to Plan My Shaadi Pvt Ltd. a subsidy of The Big Fat Punjabi weddings This vertical was started to cater to a growing demand for the professional management of local, national international weddings and specializes in planning , curating and executing Bespoke Destination weddings 4: Professional Audio Visual Solutions Pvt Ltd started after spending close to two decades in the sound and light industry. It led to major installionations of night clubs and home theatres in and around Punjab. 5: CLUB 69 was launched as Studio 69’s very own night club and banquet by the name of 69ml. Started on 1st Dec, 2019, Club 69 is the largest open-air nightclub spread in 8000 sq ft with state-of-the-art sound and lighting design. The Journey So Far Hailing from a small town in Ludhiana, Mr Ahuja completed his MBA from Newport University California in Mumbai. It was his summer internship project that gave him an insight into the industry he is dominating today. During the summer training with a leading production house, he started

training to be a DJ. He was a natural at it, and realized that the DJ has the power to make people dance to his tunes, and getting paid to party was like an icing on the cake. Journey of Studio 69 began in the late 90s when the only ‘culture’ the industrialists were familiar with was ‘agriculture’. DJing was altogether a foreign concept for them. Big weddings have been a trend for ages. The people in Punjab had the potential to spend but weren’t aware of how to spend on the “entertainment”. This is where Mr. Ahuja’s creativity stepped in. Along with a couple of friends, he started playing at the small parties wearing T-shirts with the tagline ‘Party Professionals’, and soon this became the talk of the town. People started calling them for playing at parties and events, not only in Ludhiana but across other places in Punjab. “This field is about presentation and influencing the masses, and eventually DJ Bhanu, my name, gained fame and people started recognizing me for my music.” No entrepreneurial journey has ever come without challenges, however. Mr. Ahuja conquered his fair share of obstacles while launching Studio 69. In a time where there was no social media to make promotion and advertising easier, the popularity that Studio 69 gained was solely due to word of mouth. When starting out, Mr Ahuja had a tough time explaining to his parents his newly acquired skills of professional DJ and Event Manager. They were apprehensive of this career decision. Secondly, sourcing music was an issue in a time when compact discs had just been introduced. Music was mainly available on cassettes and turntables, and there was an additional lack of professional equipment. The lack of knowledge about this industry and its technical issues also made it impossible to rely on local vendors for the equipment. Mr Ahuja ended up going back to Mumbai and picking up the latest equipment (sound and lights) to have an in-house 57

inventory himself. His hard work, perseverance, and willingness to venture out to new, unexplored domains has made Studio 69 what it is today: a shining star in the horizon of Big Entertainment. One Plus Launching an Affordable Smartphone with 6,000 MAH Battery OnePlus is the latest trend that people are running after but sometimes it feels like beyond the budget. It has come up with a solution to make sure that it reaches the people by introducing OnePlus Clover, a budget-friendly smartphone that will make its entry into the budget segment. The phone is confirmed to be arriving soon and will be launched globally which would even include the US. The smartphone is highly expected to be powered by the affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor and focuses on the battery section with a huge 6,000 mAh battery, much like Realme and Samsung. The battery is likely to be supporting 18W fast charging. The OnePlus Clover is likely to feature a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS LCD display. It could be equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. It could include three rear cameras (13MP main camera, 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor). However, there is no confirmation on the front camera configuration. Additionally, the device is likely to run OxygenOS based on Android 10, support a 2.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and fall under $200 (INR around Rs. 14,600). Since OnePlus has always focused on mid-range smartphones and has launched high-end ones eventually, it would be interesting to see how the company performs in the budget price section.

Google Pay Starts NFC-Based Card Payments Now You Can Tap Your Phone on The Card Machine

Google Pay which is formerly identified as Google Tez in India has gained huge popularity in the country. The app takes advantage of the United Payments Interface (UPI) to allow users to make quick and easy banking transactions. The users can not only choose to transfer the funds to shopkeepers, family, or friends but also can pay bills and earn rewards. Now Google is focused to take it a step forward by introducing NFC-powered credit and debit card payments. Google has announced the feature at the ‘Google for India’ event, which would help people take advantage of NFC in order to make payments instead of swiping your card at a shopping mall or petrol pump, you can simply tap your phone on the card machine and it’s done. All that’s needed is the card machine provided by the shopkeeper should have NFC capabilities. With the latest update, the users will get an option to add their debit or credit card. The process is verified through an OTP sent to the cardholder by the bank.

Poco X3 To Launch With 64-Megapixels Camera Sensor Xiaomi’s spun-off brand Poco is all set to launch its next smartphone in India. The Poco X3 is said to be a direct successor to the Poco X2 that was launched back in the month of February. The company has confirmed the new smartphone that it will feature a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor on the back. The upcoming smartphone is said to be something exactly what you need, it is called Poco X3 NFC and is all set to be launched on 7th September at 12 noon UTC. The brand confirmed the launch on its social media page and the event will be an online launch. The new X3 phone will be the first with Snapdragon 732G chipset. Poco X3 was seen on the US FCC website with the name Poco M2007J20CG. The images of new phones have the logo with Poco written that is clearly visible and it also features the label “64MP AI super camera” hinting towards the 64MP primary camera module. Moreover, the FCC listing also approves that the Poco X3 will support dual sim but will be limited with support for 4G networks instead of 5G. The listing further suggests that the upcoming device will feature Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 support. The Poco X3 is said to be coming with a massive 5,160 mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging technology. Also, it is said to feature a 120Hz OLED display and draw its power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor.

Apple Launches Residency Programme For Ai, Ml Experts Apple has introduced a residency program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to see STEM (Science, Technolgy, Engineering, and Mathematics) graduates and industry professionals building new “high-impact” Machine Learning and AI-based products. The residency program invites experts in various fields to apply their expertise to build a revolutionary machine learning and AI-empowered products and experiences. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are now deeply connected with everything the company does, Apple has launched this one-year residency program for experts in the field. The program is designed to bring those experts from across many backgrounds, and get them to become involved in the company’s key AI/ML projects. The motive is to invest in the resident’s technical and theoretical machine learning development, which would help advance their professional careers and will gain hands-on experience working on high-impact projects with their learning teams. The software products like Siri are Apple’s most evident use of AI and ML.
