the sheer will and strength everyone had to show last year. As we proceed ahead in 2021, we shouldn’t forget the fundamentals. We haven’t defeated COVID completely, and cases are still emerging across the country. Safety measures still need to be followed rigorously to wipe out this plague from the face of the earth. While 2020 has wreaked havoc – distressing our professional and personal life, we have learnt three important life lessons- be ready for everything, be adaptive and never give up. If you’ve been through our previous editions, you’ve seen how many companies withstood everything and came out as champions. Many of them have made revolutionary changes, supported the growth of SMEs/MSMEs while contributing to the changing trends of customers. However, all these changes were driven by one common thread – Technology. Digital innovations have seen a significant surge and are the present face of every industry. Amongst the verticals, E-learning has become one of the crucial developments in digital inclusion. As many schools and colleges are, still running with restrictions e-Learning has become the best way to continue education. In this edition, “Top 10 E-Learning Portals in 2020”, of Business Connect Magazine, we are focusing on e-Learning platforms, which ensured education doesn’t get hampered. Sam Walton (Full name Samuel Moore Walton) was born on March 29 in 1918 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. His father, Tom, was a Farmer. From childhood only, Sam was a hard worker. In 1942, at the age of 24, he got the opportunity to serve in the military. He married Helen Robson in the year 1943. After retirement from service in 1945, Sam and Helen shifted to Iowa and then to Newport, Arkansas. The Wal-Mart opening was truly done on July 2, 1962, in Rogers, Arkansas. Forbes gave Sam Walton the ranking of the wealthiest person in the United States from 1982 to 1988. He died due to bone cancer in April 1992, by then he had 1,960 Wal-Mart stores, employed 380,000 people and observed annual sales of around $50 billion.

Their technology was also utilized in ‘PAN-African e-Network initiative’, launched by Late Dr Abdul Kalam, Former President of India. Since 2019, their platform is used by the National Health Mission for the end-toend telemedicine solutions to 130 CHCs (Community Health Centers) in remote places of Uttar Pradesh to receive specialized teleconsultations in 13 categories, including Pediatrics, Gynecology, Internal medicine, Orthopedics, Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology etc. 1500+ teleconsultations are conducted daily on their platform and more than 165,000 have been completed so far. TeleVital has been recognized as ‘The Telemedicine Company of the Year’ by Frost and Sullivan, in 2009. Similarly, their technology is used by the Karnataka Government to link 12 super-speciality hospitals in Bangalore with all the District hospitals. Over one lakh consultations were provided in 3 years. Tripura Government is using its solution for statewide ophthalmology services. At the same time, renowned education bodies like Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology have used their digital platform to provide virtual classroom training in many rural high schools in Karnataka. Customer support has been one of the highlights of TeleVital services. The field engineers have provided support services to remotest corners of India including the Himalayas, Northeastern region and also 44 African countries. Many passionate Engineers have provided timely and invaluable support during disaster management situations, such as the Tsunami and Kashmir earthquakes.
