Research I conduct to define Kookheon’s preference
In which we design space that concludes everything including his likings

Issue
Purpose
Childhood dream is an innocent dream which comes from pure heart of a person. Responding to facts that is mentioned in profile section, I wonder if maybe, just maybe, in his retirement day, or someday when everything is on the right place and he is no longer being chased by his own expectations, he could do anything he wants including brings back his childhood dream that has been forgotten for so long.

Style Analysis
04 Social Media Outfit Tracing analysis to predict his suitable taste comes from his uploaded pictures on social media where he feels the most handsome and confidence of his good looks.
Casual Outfit Casual outfit taken from youtube channel and his fans account is needed to predict Kookheon’s personal taste therefore the design will adjust his liking prediction.
Material Board Material Board is formed by the hierarchy of color palette in the last diagram. The color that is worn the most will be chosen as the primary color for the design. The color cream to brown will be categorized to warm material such as wood and other substitute material.
The tertiary color which is mostly found in Kookheon’s background picture will also be used for background and other complementary element such as plants, etc.
Shell covered
Translation Method Inspired by Yakitate Japan Anime Eps 324, the idea is to make a space that can convey the speciality of croissant which has too many layer inside charcoal shell. Therefore we need to define each steps of the unfolding croissant story which concludes covering, cracking pressure, revealing and unfolding layers, and the last define the space that can be adjusted in the area.

Site Scenario As I am living overseas and not familiar with Seoul’s geography I try to make a scenario from the latest vlog of Kookheon strolling around to eat ramen in Itaewon where there can be seen a Fashion Outlet located in the middle of T-junction. While dimension of the site is roughly estimated from the usual typology of store which means will not really accurate.

Kook-Tasia Named after the famous restaurant in Yakitate Japan named Phantasia, Kook-Tasia stands for Kookheon’s Phantasia.

The vocal point of the design is inside the bakery where we can se the layers unfold made of multiplex (or can be replaced with fabric) through the transparent glass. The unfolding method can also be seen in façade of black wall that is ripped off in asymmetrical cutting to show the warmth ambience that is seen in croissant.

The second floor is Kookheon’s private area where he can spend time to read books and do his individual things such as dancing due to the floor is also made from vinyl which is safe for physical activities.

The bakery is displayed on the left side of the building to attract visitors from every direction as the 1st floor building is coated with fixed glass. The dominant part of material is the charcoal fabric hanging on the plafond and wood texture covering walls with a slight bright marble in the furniture and lots of spotlight therefore the bakery will steal the scene at night.

The cashier direction is not exactly in front of entrance to keep the visitors from uncomfortable feeling of being watched by the bakery worker from the beginning.

The entrance is higher than the height of 1st floor and there are three steps of stair (45cm) below 1st floor to the eatery area due to lower height of main road outside the bakery. Lower height of eatery area is needed to make person who eats inside the bakery can see the person outside on the same eye level even though the area is set with stool bar. The vocal point in this area is the sexy round stairs and layered plafond.
Eatery Area
The last is Kookheon’s private place as he is a person who likes to read books therefore there is a mini library upstairs for his books collection. There are also many plants on the outside to form natural shading that goes through the glass in order to protect books and the precious person who is using the room.
