Our Giving Pledge “Last year, about one million infants died on the day they were born. A total of more than 2.5 million died in their first month of life. As the total number of childhood deaths has dropped, the proportion that are newborn deaths has gone up. Newborn deaths now represent 45 percent of all childhood deaths, up from 40 percent in 1990. Breastfeeding in the first hour and exclusively for the first six months. Cutting the umbilical cord in a hygienic way. And kangaroo care: skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby to raise the baby’s body temperature are the practices leading to big drops in newborn deaths…..Malnutrition is partly responsible for forty-five percent of childhood deaths.” Bill Gates Annual Letter 2017 Frontline Contracting is a proud member of the UN Global Compact and proponent of SDGs.
