URBAN ISSUE The growth of tourism can be attributed to a number of factors including improvements in transportation, increases in disposable income, and attraction awareness. The tourist industry offers a number of benefits to countries by providing local residents with jobs and contributing to GDP, but also brings social issues such as the dilution of culture and identity. A possible solution to this issue would be to create a platform for local residents to embrace and display everyday life and the changing culture outside of the initial tourist attraction. This could be implemented anywhere in the world by allowing the local community to define their culture for themselves and curate spaces which inform those important aspects of them.
