Chameleon’s Iris

Insignia of Motion between natural and Artificial Comprehensive study has been done in order for a characteristics of a chameleon to be conveyed through the manipulation of patterns and shapes. Intriguing elements of nature lies within its motion and effortless in its texture’s complexion within a simplicity of a spoon.

1

Freedom’s Manifestation

Of Linear Exploration and Visual Representation Through movie interpretation, a series of linear and abstraction can be obtained in order to achieve a meaningful visual representation which delivering ideas and manifestations through the vital elements of mood, feelings and emotions.

2

The Rang

Conceptualizing Movement | Motion Abstraction The Rang depicted velocity in a static motion which gives a clear visualization on a freeze moment held within a boomerang thrower, which translates into a language understandable by naked eyes. A coexist form of energy can be physicalize through body of work which imitates major componentin human anatomy, such as bones and joints. These body of works can be replicate into a form of sculptural-hanging-like in order to emphasize the movement

3

NeoHammock

Extraction of principles and understanding through application Neohammock demonstrate the applications and understanding extracted from the master Santiago Calatrava which emphasizes on aesthetical, yet state-of-the-art in terms of structural quality/feature.

4

Modularical Beannie Comfortness x Jointing

This exercise imply student to explore naked-jointing without the use of any adhesive medium. Throughout the design development, geometric form has been identify as a potential form of structural durability which can uphold a massive amount of weightespecially when the jointing is made up of the structure itselves. Triangular shape can be considered as the ultimate form ofstructure due to the rigidity of its sides, which allowsthem to transfer load more evenlythan any other shapes. Modularity enhances the sturdinessof the structure. The joints is designed in a way that it functions as a stretch absorberfrom the sitting impact of the user hence providing an extra comfortness to the user while he/she sits to enjoy the evening.

Timber Effectiveness Through Compact Spaces

Timber construction application can be beneficial for the use of small amd compact spaces especially within a compound which allows the user to manipulate and maneuver the structure that supports the building as a training tools and equipments.

Kahn’s Superficial Cave

Reformation of Contour Through Geometry kahn’s Superficial cave is a manifestationof Louis Kahn’s major inquisitiveness to geometry shape and rigid form. Through the design phase, a manipulation of geometry has been synthesized to a whole new method which autonomously hybridize Kahn’s principlein altering geometrical form. This project is derived from a reformation of contour from the initial site located at a lake cliff. The reformation of the contour underwent series of developments through grids mapped on the initial contour then manipulated holistically. Thus, its optimal form identified according to the integration of the lake and the cliff which creates a utopia environment within the superficial cave. Hence, the hardline of the finalized form can be obtained to achieve the structural components.

7

The Escapism

Of Peace and Long Beach The Escapism is a modus operandi which involves an alteration of timeline where a notable figure niche at burglary, acrobatic, master planner as well as escape designer circa 18th century. Charles Joseph Peace is a versatile individual who suffers dualistic personality that transforms himself into a prolific cat burglar, master of disguise and a designer of escapes plans. This exercise conveyed through comprehensive yet critical study on surrounding genius loci which simultaneously analyzed and scrutinized through the method of narration and story telling.

Ruinophilia | Steam House

Reinventing Programs, Ambience and Environment Within a Decaying Monumental Structure Ruinophilia explores the possibility of a parallel nature that can be explained through escaping the irreversibility of time. By means, the past that could have been, and the future that never took place. Explaining parallel nature, nostalgia which is a remnant of the past has utopian element, but it is no longer directed toward the past either, but rather sideways. It is an experiment using the ruinous atmosphere of the site as a specific potential in order to interrelate with the evolved infrastructure of the surrounding and to give a long term perspective. Hence, the creation of a new cultural landscape in the exisiting ruin would unveilan atmosphere of the unformed in contrast to an accurate urban infrastructure in sophisticated setting. This project indirectly defines the intimate collaboration between human and nature.

The hybridization of spa, sauna and indoor skydiving gives an alternative for youngsters and oldsters to mingle around.

Binjai Co-Housing

Making the Intangible Tangible Through the hybridization of the industrial and recreational, Binjai Co-Housing hosts the gathering of similar interest community collaboration with community of luckyprosthetic-user who gets the chance to experience and undergo training at a rehab communal center. The physicalization of the altered terrain based on the initial terrain are the justification for the good training ground for the amputee. The design of the landscape and the hardscape determined was based on the modification of the original terrain after layering over layering in order to obtaion indigenous hardlines. As the intangible layer of the contour is made visible to the naked eye, it somehow suggests for an active movement and exploration due to inquisitiveness and curiosity.

Navy’s routine bound by the exploration of the sea where they spend most of their lifetime. Its reinterpretation as a bounding box which seems invisible to to the enclosure world of land. The hardship and struggled faced by them brought untold wisdom but the fear can only be felt by them. Whilst land kingdom peaceful at its best, only a narrow strip channel that linked both worlds.

Photo manipulation suggests system alteration, where testimonial of sea life with its challenges needs to be exposed thoroughly. Hence the channel simultaneously amplified in sizes and numbers, demonstrating the systems being shared by both land and sea. The struggle of the sea life seen by the land, the tranquility of the land motivated the sea life. Boundaries being redrawn for a new manifestation.

Balance and symmetrical composition in maintaining the equilibrium of the ecosystem is highly important for both parties benefit. The alteration of the land’s system allows a more stable state of peace where boundaries’ rethinking and everything become transparent for both sides. The interaction of both land and sea can now be actively integrated without any formal boundaries or divisions.

Lumut Naval Museum Experimentation Through Imaginative Spaces

Rethinking Boundaries // Private, semi public, public has long been a debated issue on how to control and s et the perimeter of the domain where interrelation and intraconnection between them occurs. A simple reinterpretation has been manifested where it challenges the limitation of the boundaries themselves. The limit of boundaries not controlled by the axes of x,y and z only, but in wider perspectives, they share the same medium of interconnection where the spatial being held. Spatial demarcation allows a new way of systems to be experimented. Where inside does not mean inside anymore and likewise outside and vice versa. Either of them can be at both state at the same time.

To create a sense of curiosity throughout the spaces and induce movement, as well as driving force through the narrow passage that would open into a larger volume It’s similar as if one is experiencing gliding down a water tube with water awaiting at the end of it. This theory suggests that people’s desire for coherence is disrupted by something that is unfamiliar, uncertain, or ambiguous. It’s curiosity-driven theory that attempts to gather information and knwoledge of the unfamiliarity to restore coherent thought processes once again.

+ To seek for a seamless environment while responding to the contextual feature as one is forced under the low roof plane that captures the adjacent outdoor court as well as the interior moments which induces circulation and continuous experience.

+ To cancel the formal partition between the internal and the external while maintaining their intimacy, familiarity, privacy, and formality. Interlocking and interconnecting method would emphasize the spatial demarcation and expansion of spaces through denseness and intenseness.

framework

During the process of discovery and rediscovery, the low statue of the building narrowing the visitor’s line of vision thus forcing one to adjust to the views framed.

The linear route through those particular spaces helps direct the user’s gaze with a perception of transitioning through spaces vaguely and undefinely.

+ The appearance of floating Gives the volume a sense of weightlessness that fluctuates between enclosure and canopy while allowing life outside to penetrate inside.

framework

Imaginative Spaces // Selectively chosen images via subjective precedent on how gallery should be acts as a platform where all of the four frameworks reevaluated. An imaginative spaces can be testified through a body of work which can be defines as a clear symbolism for each of the components. To make simplification, the same palette from a painting is then extraced then repaint to get a better mood, ambience, and representation in their own unique way. Through the framework of red, yellow, blue, and green, these elements will be reimagined through the images and hybridized into a mixture of qualities. A meaningful way of of interlocking and superimposing these qualities, the spaces will assume a depth and richness. In order to achieve them, form and construction, appearance and function are no longer separated. They belong together and form a whole.
