Location Type Studio Mentor Date

West Gatot Subroto St, Denpasar, Indonesia Symbolic Architecture Final Project Research Ir. Heru Sufianto, S.T, M.Arch., P.hD Beta Suryokusumo, S.T, M.T December 2016

Bali cultural centre is a place for developing of art and culture skills & knowledges, especially in the city of Denpasar. In the era of technological advancement and globalization, Balinese architecture has begun to be abandoned and if allowed to continue will fade the Balinese architectural identity. Bali cultural centre is designed with an eco-cultural approach that puts forward the eco-friendly aspects combined with incorporating elements of Balinese culture.

Taking environmental and social issues has an important role for human social survival. In the future, humans need a private space as a flexible contemplation space can be placed anywhere. I-nest house offers 3 important aspects in the establishment of escape house, such as self-energy produce, urban farming and power plant.

SOLUTION

Issue is taken from two aspects, namely the environment and social aspect. In terms of environment, the future has a much more extreme environment than the present. An increase in the temperature of the air within the earth that causes various reactions in the form of disasters in various aspects of the ecosystem. It also affects the human social life. Humans in their reaction to global warming form a faster changing character of emotions that trigger an increase in criminality

DESIGN SCENARIO

DESIGN TRANSFORMATION

The need for space for humans is influenced by many factors such as the need for space flexibility, ease of mobility, and the influence of interconnectedness with the surrounding environment. This encourages humans to continue to develop to meet the needs that must be fulfilled to achieve the level of satisfaction and balance.

There are 2 kinds of methods: 1. Assembly > knock down : using a bolt & nut / screw connection. Install the main structure first, which is to connect between the columns and beams, the base and the roof 2. folding Method : using a folding structure on the building envelope and panel hinges as connections between folded sections
