The grass is greener on his side. Why ?
Aavartansheel Kheti (periodic proportionate farming)
Before: Indepted, highly dependent farmer. After: Self-sufficient, independent farmer.
Self-sufficient vs. dependent
Before: Heavily dependent on agriculture industry, government subsidaries, banks and market prices. After: 100% self-sufficient farmer who produces everything he needs for his farm by himself, who has no loans and sells his own trademarked products.
Balanced vs. unilateral use
Before: 100% farmland. After: One third of the land should be a forest or a garden. One third should be for animals and another third for mixed farming – what ever grows in the region.
Small vs. big machines (numbers are for 4 acres of land)
Before: 1 tractor (₹ 7,00.000 invest + ₹ 2,00.000 interest and depreciation/year) After: 1 small power triller (max. ₹ 1,00.000 invest + ₹ 28.000 interest and depreciation/year). Savings: more than ₹ 6,00.000 + 1.5 l diesel/hour (= ₹ 100 ) if we include that the tractor is 3 times as fast.
Manure vs. fertilizer
Before: 15% of income was spent on fertilizer. After: Today 0 % of income is spent on fertilizer. I produce my own manure at no cost.
Forest / garden vs. farmland (numbers are for 1 acre of land)
Before: No garden, only farmland. After: 1/3 of the farmland was converted into a garden. This garden provides a 8-10 higher income than the farmland with significantly lesser costs. In addition dry wood is available and extra grazing land for cows. Latter increases the quality of the manure. And the garden provides Ayurvedic medicine.
Grazing land for cattle vs. farmland
Before: I spent â‚š 40,000/year for the vet treating my 20 cows. After: Today my cows are healthy. I have 40 of them and no more vet is needed. Costs are down to zero. More cows keep the farm itself healthier because it's balancing the circle man, animal and nature.
Renewable vs. conventional energy
Before: Monthly electricity costs ₹ 25.000 plus ₹ 20.000 back-up/repair because of electricity cuts. After: ₹ 1,00,000 invest. Yearly electricity costs: ₹ 7.200
Pond vs. underground water
Before: Underground water. After: 50% less energy costs. Far better water quality which results in 30% more productivity.
Manufactured products vs. raw material (GAON is our registered trademark. All GAON products are produced in our own processing unit)
Before: Selling raw material at a fixed market price – e.g. Indian gooseberry ₹ 5 per kg. After: Selling our own GAON products at our price – e.g. gooseberry jelly for ₹ 100 per kg at ₹ 65 costs.
Learning Center
