SEVEN
High precision mechanical cell wheel drill from Stanhay
— Unmatched speed, accuracy and reliability.
Seven
The SEVEN precision drill, the new mechanical cell wheel drill from Stanhay, will establish an excellent sugar beet crop even in the poorest of conditions. It maintains consistent depth control and accurate spacing even in cloddy, eneven seedbeds including drilling into ploughed and pressed land. And it can continue to work in the damp or directly behind a harrow without picking up moist soil. A telescopic, ground following clod deflector clears away clods and stones to leave a smooth planting surface, and stay-clean front and rear wheels keep running smoothly, even when the soil is sticky. The SEVEN uses a completely new row unit design. It delivers speed, accuracy and reliability unmatched by any other sugar beet drill available. The new row unit also makes adjustment to the planter both quick and easy, so enabling the user to adapt it to changing field conditions.

Metering Unit Sowing Test Tests on the Stanhay test rig show the superior accuracy of the SEVEN metering unit. Atypical test with pelleted sugar beet seed shows over 99% single seed selection and 99% of seeds being positioned within 1cm of target spacing.

The SEVEN Metering Unit
The metering unit is simple, reliable and accurate. Seeds in the hopper enter and fill a selection chamber. This is positioned vertically over the selector wheel to ensure gravity aided fill of all cells in each wheel.

SPACING (cm)
The seed ejection point is positioned at the bottom of the unit close to the ground for maximum accuracy of spacing. It is designed so that seed falls unobstructed directly into the bottom of the furrow so preserving accurate seed spacing. A specially shaped ejector plate cleans each cell of any loose material.
