HARVEST FESTIVAL

SEPT. 11-12 IN DELMONT

The Twin Rivers Old Iron Association will host a Harvest Festival on September 11-12 in Delmont. The association’s mission is to preserve agricultural heritage. The event features old-time farm demonstrations plus displays and parades of vintage tractors, machinery, cars and trucks. In addition, the Harvest Festival includes music, flea market booths, horse and tractor wagon rides, and a kids barrel train ride.

"TASTES LIKE SUMMER" SALAD

From the kitchen of Anna Anderson, Glory Garden

DRESSING:

• 2 T. balsamic vinegar • 2 T. olive oil • 1/2 T. raw local honey • 2 roasted garlic cloves, mashed • 1/4 tsp salt

• Cherry tomatoes, halved • Cucumbers, peeled and cut into 1/2" pieces • Basil, minced

VEGETABLES NEEDED:

DIRECTIONS:

Cut up an adequate amount of vegetables to feed your family and mix with minced basil. Drizzle with dressing right before serving. The salad will become very juicy if allowed to sit, so only make what you will eat right away.
